Irene E. Dawson, age 88 of Mundy Twp., formerly of Holly died Fri. March 12, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly with Pastor Lakie Renee Varner officiating. Visitation will be from 2-5 and 7-9 PM Tuesday. Mrs. Dawson was born in Herkimer, NY on Sept. 13, 1921 the daughter of Howard and Grace (Dygert) Hill. She was devoted to her husband and her children. She is survived by her husband Max "Gene Day" Dawson; 3 children, Sheila Mushkin of Mundy Twp., Troy Dawson of Mundy Twp., and Todd (Becky) Dawson of Linden; grandson Nicklas Dawson; sister Evelyn Baker of Holly; brother Alan Hill of CA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jake, Don, and Ray Hill, and sister Doris Clouse. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Anthony Jon "Tony" Dantzer, age 32 of Holly died Sun. March 6, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 12, 2010 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of the services on Friday. Tony was born in Rochester on June 30, 1977 the son of Mark and Sandra (Kacso) Dantzer. He was loved by his family and many friends. He was the glue that held his network of friends together. Tony had a passion for traveling and had traveled all over the country. He was an avid photographer and a fantastic writer. He was a very spiritual person, and he left his mark on the heart of everyone he knew. He is survived by his parents Mark and Sandy Dantzer of Holly and aunt Barbara and uncle John Everly of CA. Anna Wargiela, age 91 of Davisburg died Tuesday, March 9, 2010. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March 12, 2010 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3300 S. Fenton Rd., Holly, MI 48442. Mrs. Wargiela was born in Poland on June 8, 1918 the daughter of Stanislaus and Mary Kolodziej. She was a member of the Holly Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses for over 40 years. She is survived by her son Bernard (Carol) Wargiela of Davisburg; 3 grandchildren, Rachel (Brett) Bandi, Candace Wargiela, and Rebekha (Mike) Dowding; 2 great-grandchildren, Chloe and Brant. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph on Dec. 15, 2000. Memorial donations may be made to the Holly Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Wittnesses.

Glenn L. Bravender ; aged 87; of Grand Rapids; passed away on March 4, 2010. A Committal Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday at the Chapel of Lakeside Cemetery, 860 Thomas Rd. Holly, MI, with Visitation one hour prior at the chapel. Memorial contributions in his memory can be made to Hulet-Bravender VFW Post 5587, Bravender Math Scholarship at Holly High School, or Immanuel Lutheran Building Fund.

Calvin Theodore Campbell, age 81, born December 1, 1928 in Ancrim Mines, NY, passed away March 3, 2010. He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years Ruby Teachey. Calvin grew up on a dairy farm in upstate New York, upon graduation from high school he served his country for 7 years in the Air Force. He graduated from Washington Adventist University in Takoma Park, MD with a degree in math and physics and worked at Chrysler as a computer analyst before moving to Holly in 1975. Calvin and Ruby were married in 1954 in Silver Spring, MD and had three children. Calvin is survived by Arlene 46 of Holly, Michigan; Daniel 41 of Holly and his wife Shawna and three grandsons Nathaniel, Seth and Adrian; Douglas 39 and his wife Juanita with granddaughter Solana and grandson Suvan of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Calvin leaves behind a loving church family and many loving friends from around the community. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist church for 56 years which he faithfully attended and also served as Elder and Sabbath school teacher. Calvin will be missed by all who knew him. He had a firm faith in his Lord and Savior and now sleeps awaiting the master's call. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday, March 6, 2008 at the Holly Seventh-day Adventist church with Pastor Brandon Korter officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. Friday at the Dryer Funeral Home

Denis B. Ranger, age 56 of Linden, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Sat. March 6, 2010 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Fenton. Visitation will be from 2-5 and 7-9 P.M. Thursday and Friday. Mr. Ranger was born in Flint on July 14, 1953 the son of Raymond and Dorothy (Oldaugh) Ranger. His special interests were aircrafts of all kinds, hang gliding, gliders, astronomy, history, rally racing, working on cars, and camping. He is survived by 2 children, Ami Fikes of Traverse City and Sarah Sutter of Byron; grandchildren Dylan, Luke, and Sam; father Ray Ranger of Fenton; and sister Paula Merritt of Fenton. He was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Ranger. Memorial donations may be made to the Disability Network.

John M. Baughman, age 77 of Houghton Lake, died Sat. Feb. 27, 2010 in Alliance, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tues. March 2, 2010 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly. Military honors will be under the auspices of Hulet-Bravender Post #5587 VFW and Amel Schwartz Post #149 American Legion. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be from 2-5 and 7-9 PM Monday. Mr. Baughman was born in Payne, Ohio on May 12, 1932 the son of William and Rhoda (Leeth) Baughman. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving as a Sergeant in the US Army and he was awarded a bronze star and a purple heart. He was a truck driver for Consolidated Packaging of Flint, retiring after 33 years of service. Surviving are 7 children: daughter Arlene (Roger) Newell of Otter Lake and their children Greg, Andy (April) along with great-grandchildren Zoe and Corbin: daughter Joyce Almassy of Flint and her children Billy, Jenny, Jamie, Carrie and Julie, with great-grandchildren Sky, Morgan, Logan, Jonas, Grace Sasha, Kaylesia, Zoey, and Kayden; daughter Debra (Paul) Easton of Grand Blanc and their children Angela (Bill), John, and Kayla; son John (Wanda) Baughman of Otter Lake and their children Christina (Sam), and Tony (Amanda) with great-grandchildren Gage and Alivia; son Ken (Lisa) Baughman of Gaines and their children, Jessica (Matthew) and Alissa with great-grandson Landon; daughter Norma (George) Slater of Lapeer and their children Kara and Jason with great-grandchildren Christopher and Cole; daughter Linda (Mike) Torres of Lapeer and their children Matthew and Stephanie: brother Bill (Marge) Baughman of Comins, MI: sisters Donella Burns of NC, Marge (Dan) Thompson of Torch Lake, and Connie (Tom) Rowe of Grayling; and companion June Wykle of alliance, OH. He was preceded in death by his wife Bertha Baughman, and brothers Robert and Garth Baughman. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Refugio "Cookie" Moreno, age 54 of Holly died Sun. Feb. 21, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tues. Feb. 23, 2010 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Tuesday. Cookie was born in Flint on June 23, 1955 the son of Fernando and Diana (Saucedo) Moreno. He was known as the "Salsa Man" of Holly and was a member of the Holly Moose. He loved softball, bowling, dancing, gardening, and giving rides on the "Gator" at Artie's farm. He is survived by his son Christopher Moreno of Adrian; mother Diana Moreno of Holly; father Fernando (Jackie) Moreno of Holly; brother Fernando (Jean) Moreno of Holly; sisters, Alicia Cassidy of Fenton, Louise (Bob) Turner of IL, Benita (Bill) Wareham of MO, Silvia (John) Potter of Holly, Linda (Fiona) Moreno of Washington D.C., and Margaret (Alan) Zipsie of Burton; many nieces and nephews; and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his son Refugio and his sister Vera Rice. Memorial donations may be made to McLaren Hospice.

Daniel Allen Taylor, Age 75 of Holly died Friday Feb, 19, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer Allen Taylor and Sarah Elizabeth Parish, his step-father Glenn N. Noye, and sisters Patricia L. Brewer and Christine E. Fowler. He is survived by two children, Marlaina Taylor of Hastings, Michigan and Gregory Taylor of Albertville, Alabama, and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Taylor was born in Lansing, Michigan on October 30, 1934. He was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps and received the Bronze Star with Combat “V” in 1966 while serving as a Platoon Commander with Company E, 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, in the Dien Ban District of Quang Nam Province, Republic of Vietnam. He was a longtime resident of Holly and was a member of the Holly Moose. Graveside services, military honors and burial will be 11:30 AM Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. A memorial gathering at the Holly Moose will follow the graveside services.

Bernetta H. "Bea" McGinnis Murphy, age 98, formerly of Holly and Grand Blanc died Tues. Feb. 16, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, Feb. 19, 2010 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of the service. Mrs. Murphy was born in Holly on July 11, 1911 the daughter of Charles and Grace (Stack) O'Connell. She was a former employee of Citizen's Bank in Holly. She is survived by 2 grandsons Steve McGinnis and Scott (Jennifer) McGinnis; daughter-in-law Gloria Conti McGinnis; 5 great-grandchildren Stefne, Ryan, Austin, Connor, and Michaela; sister-in-law Judy O'Connell; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands Vernon McGinnis and Ralph Murphy; son Bruce McGinnis, and brothers Chester, Ronald, and Robert O'Connell. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.

Anthony C. Ebach, age 79 of Palm Coast, FL, formerly of Davisburg, died Fri. Feb. 5, 2010 in Palm Coast, FL surrounded by his girls. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 AM Mon, Feb. 15, 2010 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly. Military honors and burial will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be from 2-8 PM Sunday. Tony was born in Birmingham, MI on March 24, 1930 the son of Michael and Eleanor Ebach. He was a Sgt. in the USMC and was a very proud Marine. He never met a stranger, and you were his friend from hello. Tony is survived by 3 daughters, Mary (Mark) Krajniak of Bryson City, NC, Laura (Mike) Newman of Holly, and Loretta Ashley of Davisburg. He leaves 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and special friends Don and Helen Williams of Palm Coast, FL. His wife of 52 years Lois preceded him in death on Aug. 17, 2009.
