Donne Mae (Miller) Emmons, age 58, of Holly formerly of Ortonville was returned to the Lord on Mon., Jan. 19, 2009. She was a strong woman who beat all odds without a complaint. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009 at Greater Harvest Church located at G10401 Fenton Rd., Fenton, MI. Donna is the beloved mother of Deana Farley of Grand Blanc, Carrie Emmons of Holly, Curtis Emmons of Ortonville; loving grandmother of Nathaniel (Grandma's right hand man), Abigail, Vesley, Heather, Charles, and Dylan. She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Delores Miller and her sister Catherine Johnson. She was also the loving sister of Daniel (Jo) Miller of Ortonville, Neal (Tona) Miller of Metamora, Bonnie (Edward) Reid of Holly, Randee (Joe) Bisaha of Grand Blanc and Alan (Helle) Miller of CO. Donna will be respected, remembered and admired for her tremendous strength throughout her life. She will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the family.
Janice E. Beck, age 72 died Mon. Jan. 19, 2009. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, Jan. 23, 2009 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly. Visitation will be from 11 AM - 1 PM Friday. Mrs. Beck was born in Detroit on June 9, 1936 the daughter of Andrew and Evelyn (Schultz) Floer. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. Surviving are 3 children Gary (Kathy) Beck of Holly, Debbie (Toby Fox) Beck of Grand Blanc, and Lorri Beck of Waterford; 1 granddaughter Amber (Brian) McCloud of Fenton; and 2 great grandchildren, Cameron and Ethan McCloud. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Ronald A. Floer. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Hospice of Missouri on July 9, 1916 the daughter of Edward and Mary Bergman. She loved baking, knitting, and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church. She is survived by 3 daughters, Sue (Bill) Turner of Holly, Joyce (Ralph) Cleaver of Holly, and Cherryl LeBaron of Grand Blanc; 16 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence in 1986. Memorials may be made to St. Rita Catholic Church.
Shirley A. Martin, age 79 of Holly died Wed. Jan. 7, 2009 at home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Sat. Jan. 10, 2009 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly. Visitation will be from 5-9 PM Friday. Mrs. Martin was born on Oct. 8. 1929 the daughter of Russell and Grace (Edmondson) Joslin. She retired from Citizen's Bank in 1986. Surviving are 2 children, Norm (Lois) Martin of Holly and Kimberly Martin of Holly; 6 grandchildren, Jennifer (Guy) Cornell, Eric Martin, Matthew Irwin, Michelle Irwin, Nick Elsner, and Elizabeth Elsner; 6 great-grandchildren; step-sister JoAnn Treat of CA. Pauline H. Wilson Cumbus, 1932-2008, age 76, of Holly passed Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008. Surviving are her husband William Cumbus; children, daughter Linda Gilmore of Holly, son Rick (Heidi) Wilson of Holly, and daughter Sandra Thompson of Linden, [removed] and Emily Reed; great-grandchildren, Derek and Jason Beelby and baby Rozzalind. Shirley A. Butts, age 71 of Holly died Mon. Dec. 29, 2008 at home. She was born in Holly on Aug. 8, 1937 the daughter of the late Fred M. and Helen M. (Oren) Johnson. She was the beloved wife of the late Glen Butts; loving mother of 10 children, Bill (Shirley) Butts Linn (John) Echoff, Leonard (Lynda) Butts, Jeff Butts, Joe (Ruth) Butts, Jody (Dave) Piscopink, Marje VanWagoner, Melissa Butts, Carrie Butts, David (Leslie) Butts, and Lisa (Dale) Ferrow; sister of Marjorie (Robert) Grooters and the late Bruce R. Johnson; 29 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. A gathering celebrating her life will be held in July. Memorial donations may be made to the Holly Kiwanis Club.
Arlene E. Kahn, age 77 of Davisburg died Sun. Dec. 28, 2008. Funeral Mass will be held at 1:30 P.M. Tues. Dec. 30, 2008 at St. Rita Catholic Church of Holly with Father David Blazek officiating. Mrs. Kahn was born in Detroit on July 9, 1931 the daughter of Theodore and Wanda (Lietke) Korff. She was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church. She is survived by her 4 children, Michael (Maria) Kahn of Waterford, Eugene (Lori) Kahn Jr. of Davisburg, Karen (Dean) Kahn of Davisburg, and Mark (Kathy) Kahn of Davisburg; 11 grandchildren; brothers Manfred (Doreen) Korff of Romeo and Ronald Korff of Davisburg; brother-in-law Delbert (Cathy) Kahn of PA; 2 sisters-in-law Geraldine (George) Hood of Farmington Hills and Beverly (Walter) Cygan of Shelby Twp. She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Kahn Sr. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Raymond E. Preston, age 80 of Holly died Fri. Dec. 19, 2008 in Orlando, FL. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Mon. Dec. 29, 2008 at St. Rita Catholic Church of Holly with Father David Blazek, Celebrant. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Holly with military honors under the auspices of Hulet-Bravender Post #5587 VFW and Amel Schwartz Post #149 American Legion. Visitation will be from 2-9 PM Sunday at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly. Mr. Florida for the past 17 years. He is survived by 2 sons, David (Sharon) Preston of Grand Blanc; 4 grandchildren, Mark (Samantha) Preston, Christopher (Breanne) Preston, Natalie (Glenn Sapelak) Preston, and Kyle Preston; 3 great-grandchildren, Logan, Noah, and Ethan. Michael C. Mitchell, age 47 of Holly died Mon. Dec. 15, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Fri. Dec. 19, 2008 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly with Pastor Jim Combs officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be from 2-9 PM Thursday. Mr. Mitchell was born on Feb. 15, 1961 the son of Glenn Robert and Arlyne (Diss) Mitchell. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Surviving are his mother Arlyne Gould of Holly; fiancee Anna; 4 brothers, Glenn Robert (Jessica) Mitchell of CA, Larry (Kathy) Mitchell of Commerce Twp., Kevin Mitchell of Holly, and John (Tammy) Booten; 2 nieces Shauna Mitchell and Alyssa Booten; nephew Chase Booten; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Lillian Janken Drozdowski, age 89, of Clarkston, Michigan died peacefully on December 11, 2008. Beloved wife of the late Zigmund Drozdowski, loving mother of the late Janice (Joe) Marra and Gary (Elizabeth) Drozdowski, grandmother of Joseph Marra.
