Jackqulen M. Wolf, age 80 of Grand Blanc and Fenton died Thurs. Dec. 4, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thurs. Dec. 11, 2008 at the Grand Blanc Stake Center, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Burial will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be from 7-9 PM Tues and from 2-5 and 7-9 PM Wed. Mrs. Wolf was born in Mansfield, OH on Aug. 30, 1928 the daughter of Jacob and Isabel (Whipp) Augustine. She was a member of the Grand Blanc Stake Center of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Surviving are her children, Jacob (Jane) Wolf of AZ, Gordon (Anna) Wolf of Saginaw, Patricia Wolf of WA, Martin (Karen) Wolf of AZ, and Michelle (Brent) Bjornn of ID; 18 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers James Augustine of FL, Stanley Augustine of WA, and Lloyd Augustine of UT. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward, son Fred, and grandson Jared. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Missionary Fund of the Grand Blanc Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Sherwood W. Pretznow, age 79 of Davisburg died Dec. 2, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, Dec. 5, 2008 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly. Burial will be in Davisburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9-11 AM Friday. Mr. Pretznow was born in Pontiac on June 8, 1929 the son of Herbert and Myrtle (Krueger) Pretznow. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the US Army and was retired from the Oakland County Drain Commission. He was a member of the Community United Methodist Church of Fruitland Park, FL and a former member of the Davisburg United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Davisburg Masonic Lodge, Austin-Electa Chapter Eastern Star, a life member of the SCG &CC Veteran's Association, and the Oakland County Retirees Association. Surviving are his wife Ardath; 2 children, Barbara Pretznow of Waterford and David (Sue) Pretznow of Cadillac; and grandson Spencer Pretznow. He was preceded in death by his brothers Frank and Richard Pretznow. Memorials may be made to Genesys Hospice.
Lola Marie Usher, age 80 of Holly died Mon. Dec. 1, 2008 at home. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Mrs. Usher was born in Flint on March 4, 1928. She was a nature lover and especially loved animals, flowers, and gardening. She also raised and showed Pekingese dogs. She is survived by her husband Frank; 1 daughter Paulette (Michael) Rupp of Durand; 2 grandchildren, Holly (Neal) Armstrong of Howell and Brooke Rupp of Byron; 3 great-grandchildren, Ashley Armstrong, and Brandon and Courtney Rupp. She was preceded in death by her mother Della and her brother Murray Wezell. LeRoy Howard Sheeder, age 90 of Holly died Sat. Nov. 29, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tues. Dec. 2, 2008 at Dryer Funeral Home, Holly with Pastor Wes Morris officiating. Visitation will be from 1-3 PM Tuesday. Military honors and inurnment will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, Dec. 5 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Mr. Sheeder was born in Detroit on Aug.. 13, 1918 the son of LeMar and Golden (Gilders) Sheeder. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Kay; 3 daughters Karen (Ted) Rabior of MO, Linda Sheeder of Highland, and Paula (Steven) Thorp of Holly; 5 grandchildren, Todd Rabior, Timothy (Chris) Rabior, Heather (Joe) Gutierrez, Gregory (Randi) Thorp, and Krystal Thorp; 10 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Delphine Dieterle of Livonia. Susan (Lay) Ludwig Pretsch, 78, passed away on Sunday November 23 rd, 2008. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Holly on Saturday November 29 th at 11AM. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Dryer Funeral Home in Holly. Sue will be buried at Lakeview Cemetery, Clarkston directly following Mass.
Sue and Tom Ludwig raised their four children in Holly where she worked in the school system for several years. She remarried in 1990 to Ernest Pretsch and they lived in Arizona where they enjoyed the culture and climate. Sue always enjoyed new people, places, traveling and even earned her pilot’s license at the age of 60!
Surviving are her four children Lee Cote (Boston), Jim Ludwig and his wife Carol (Brighton), Scott Ludwig (Holly), Sarah List and her husband Don (Holly): six grandchildren Tom, Jennifer, Scott, Kevin, Liz and Emily, one great grandchild, Analeisea and her cat, Sam!

Mrs. Pelton was born in Rochester on Aug. 18, 1933 the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth (Brockman) Jackson. She was a member of the Holly Presbyterian Church, a Red Cross volunteer, a volunteer with the Clinton Valley Center, and an election worker for Holly Township for many years. Surviving are 5 children, Michael Pelton of IL, Frances Pelton of Pontiac, James (Jason) Pelton of NY, Margaret (Rick) Perry of Gaines, and Thomas (Cheri) Pelton of Clarkston; 4 grandchildren, Lyndsey and Alex Perry and Holly and Miranda Pelton; 3 sisters Betty Klempp of AZ, Peggy Ranger of Holly, and Frances Kitowski of NV; 1 brother Charles Jackson of TX. Irene M. Cobb, age 88 of Holly died Sat. Nov. 8, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wed. Nov. 12, 2008 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly with Rev. Audrey Charlton officiating. Burial will be in Rose Center Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-5 and 7-9 P.M. Tuesday. Mrs. Cobb was born in Durand on June 12, 1920 the daughter of James and Edith (McWithy) Trimmer. She graduated from Holly High School in 1938. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a fabulous homemaker and cook. She loved knitting, crocheting, her grandchildren, traveling, and flowers. She is survived by her husband Howard; 2 children, Maureen Cobb of Holly and Alan (Mary) Cobb of Troy; 3 grandchildren, Alison (Matt) Murchie, Ian Cobb, and Elizabeth Cobb; and 2 great-grandchildren, Claire and Sophia Murchie. Memorials may be made to Avalon Hospice.
Linda Faye McBride, age 60, died Thurs. Oct. 30, 2009 at Brian's House of Davison. She was born in Palatka, FL on Dec. 3, 1947. She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmie McBride; her sons James and Robert Dale McBride; sister Frances Patterson; and brothers Grady and Robert Dale Keene. She has another brother Jimmie Keene. She is also survived by her mother-in-law Alemeda McBride of Holly; 4 sisters-in-law Elizabeth Crane of Burton, Mycke Grandstaff of Flint, Linda Rosencratz of flint, and Virginia McBride of Holly; and many nieces and nephews. The family gives special thanks to Brian's House and Heritage Manor.
Paul William Liscom, Sr., 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 19, 2008 in Gainesville, Texas. Paul was born August 9, 1920 to Leila Fern (Mitchell) and William Ries Liscom on the family centennial farm in Goodrich, Michigan. He graduated from the Goodrich Agricultural School. On June 6, 1942 he married Mary Maxine (McKenzie) and they moved to the Liscom farm where they raised five children. Following a crippling farm accident, Paul became a door to door Watkins salesman and continued this career for 35 years throughout Oakland County, receiving many commendations and awards for sales, and had many second generation customers. He was a faithful and long time member of the Atlas Community Baptist Church in Atlas, MI. The family moved to Holly, MI in 1960 where Paul served as a Deacon at the First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 31 years. In later life he worked at a variety of jobs including a school crossing guard, a home assisted living helper, a veterinary clinic worker, and a public parks employee. In 1976 Paul married Lucille Ogle and then in 1987 he married Lenore Jacobs and became active at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fenton, MI. He is survived by his two sons, Paul, Jr. (Pam) in Texas, and Clayton (Diane) in New York; and three daughters, Mary (Norm) Olson in Alaska, Becky (Don) Yenglin in Cheboygan, MI, and Bonnye Johnson in Washington, MI; also 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Monday, October 27 at 11A.M. at Dryer Funeral Home in Holly, with Pastor Dean Dumbrille of Trinity Lutheran Church of Fenton officiating. Burial will be in Goodrich Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-5 and 6-8 P.M. Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to The Gideons International.
