Marguerite L. Schagane, age 95 of New Smyrna Beach, FL, formerly of Holly/Fenton died Sunday, March 15, 2009 in New Smyrna Beach, FL. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 20, 2009 at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint, Michigan on Aug. 11, 1913 the daughter of Charles and Gladys (Morgan) Allen. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Schagane in 1985. She is survived by one daughter, one son, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Tommy Gomez, age 42 of Holly died Wed. March 11, 2009. He is survived by his beloved wife Paula; 4 children, Nicki, Michael, Amber, and Emilio; mother Maria Gomez of Shelby Twp.; sisters Diana (Ernesto) Cruz of Waterford, Debbi (Bob) Belger of West Bloomfield, Tanya Gomez of Utica, and Yolanda Gomez of Tuscon, AZ; brothers, Arthur (Julie) Gomez of Waterford, Anthony (Stacey) Gomez of Arlington, OH, and Kerry (Tom) Rancour of Waterford; known as Boompa to 9 grandchildren, Sam, Abigail, and Spencer Grover, Taylor and Morgan Barton, Mitchell and Jake Elston, and Charlie and Henry John Rancour; 2 brothers Robert (Vicki) Barton of Holly and Ronald (Jan) Barton of Mt. Rollin E. Bird Sr., age 84 of Davisburg died Fri. Feb. 13, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tues. Feb. 17, 2009 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly with Pastor William Seitz officiating. Burial will be in Ottawa Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-7 PM Sunday and from 2-5 and 7-9 PM Monday. Mr. Bird was born in Clarkston on April 2, 1924 the son of Basil and Eula (Simonson) Bird Sr. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Army Air Force as a medic. He was a devoted family man and loved nature, gardening, hunting, and fishing, He was a member of the Davisburg United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife Marian; 6 children, Prudy (Gary) Adam of Fenton, Rollin Eugene (Sue) Bird Jr. of Georgia) Portwood of Milford, and Roxann (Ted) Mendoza of Auburn Hills; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; step-brothers Ed Hockey of Clarkston and Jack Hockey of Silverwood. He was preceded in death by his first wife Betty Ann, daughter Cindy; sisters Ruth and Barbara; and brothers Basil Jr. and Willis Bird. Memorials may be made to the Davisburg United Methodist Church.
Kari Lyn Erickson Smith, age 23 of Grand Blanc Twp., died unexpectedly as the result of being struck by a vehicle near her Saginaw Rd. home early Sunday morning. She was a beautiful, loving and dedicated mother, wife, sister and friend. She will be missed and remembered by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband Chris Smith and their two children Zoie and Zane Smith; her parents Yvonne Erickson and Daniel Erickson; Grandparents Nancy Erickson and Kenneth Erickson, Joyce and Mike Jacobs; her sisters Kori Erickson, Kailey Erickson and Callista Lafond; Aunts Kim Buckman, Kelly Buckman and Uncle Sam Buckman, Aunt Karen and Uncle Larry Erickson, Aunt LeeAnn and Uncle James Brothers; cousins Nicole Olivarez, Crystal and Jason Brothers, Amber and Edward Smith, Scott Buckman and Savannah Buckman. So many people are going to miss Kari's positivity and exuberance. She lived her days as tough every one was her last. She loved to be alive. We will all miss the sunshine she carried with her and the warmth it has spread over all of our lives. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Fri. Feb.13, at the Dryer Funeral Home. Judy J. Felch, age 61 of Holly died Sat. Feb. 7, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wed. Feb. 11, 2009 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be from 2-9 PM Monday and Tuesday. Mrs. Felch was born in Flint on Dec. 28, 1947 the daughter of George and Coralie (McLaughlin) Parks. She was a former employee of Schenk's Department Store of Holly and was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church of Holly. Her family was the most important thing in her life. She loved everyone unconditionally and was always supportive of her family and friends. She is survived by her husband Dan M. Felch; 3 children, Lynette LouAnn (John) Morici of Eastpointe, Kimberley (Jim) Gabera of Flint, and Dan G. (Kim) Felch of Holly; 6 grandchildren, Alicia Lynn and Brianna Coralie Morici, Judy Joanne Perry, Amanda Haycraft, Lauren Gabera, and Makenzie Jean Nash; mother Coralie Parks of Holly; brother Dallas Parks of Linden; and Aunt Mickie and Aunt Leona. She was preceded in death by her grandson Dallas Daniel and her father George Parks. Memorials may be made to the Calvary United Methodist Church of Holly.
Dorothy L. Wareham, age 87 of Holly died Mon. Feb. 2, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thurs. Feb. 5, 2009 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly with Pastor Brandon Korter officiating. Burial will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be from 2-8 P.M. Wednesday. Mrs. Wareham was born in Detroit on April 19, 1921 the daughter of Harold and Margaret Brown. She loved cooking, reading, puzzles, bingo, and family gatherings. She was a member of the Hollyhocks Senior Citizens. She was the beloved wife of the late William Bruce Wareham; dear mother of Larry (Cece) of OR, William (Benita) of MO, Douglas (Bev) of Westland, the late Howard, the late Jerry, Jeffery (Sara) of CA, Susan (Os) Donovan of Clarkston, and Janet (Paul) Schultz of FL.; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Walter C. Behrendt, age 89 of Holly went to be with the Lord on Jan. 23, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tues. Jan. 27, 2009 at the New Life Community Lutheran Church, Swartz Creek with Pastor Bradley Yops officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be from 2-9 P.M. Sunday and Monday at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly. Mr. Behrendt was born in Goodrich on March 25, 1919 the son of Walter and Frances (Field) Behrendt. He retired from Consumers Power in 1976 where he was an electrical supervisor. He was a member of the New Life Community Lutheran Church, a former elder and member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church of Holly, a former member of the Holly Volunteer Fire Dept., and former member of the Holly Kiwanis Club. He was a self taught organist, and he enjoyed playing the organ for many years, He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Surviving are 2 children, W. James (Linda) Behrendt of Swartz Creek and Janet (Melvin) Reid of Linden; 4 grandchildren, Cynthia (John) Earl of Fenton, Melvin (Cheryl) Reid Jr. of Fenton, Sandra (Guy) Savin of Hale, and Douglas Behrendt of Linden; 7 great-grandchildren; sister Jennie (Don) Hill of Burton; sisters-in-law Naomi Swanson of Holly and Inez Weakland of PA; brother-in-law Merle Miller of PA; cousin Margaret Behrendt of Fenton; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Velma. Memorials may be made to the New Life Community Lutheran Church.
Rosemary Wohlers, age 86 of Holly died Wed. Jan. 14, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sat. Jan. 17, 2009 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly. Burial will be in Oakhill Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. Friday. Mrs. Wohlers was born in Indianapolis, IN on July 24, 1922 the daughter of Clarence and Carrie (Lefew) Cook. She went back to college at the age of 50 to become a registered nurse. She retired from nursing in 1999. She was a member of the Holly Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Surviving are 5 children, Marilyn Joyce of WI, Carolyn Sue Wohlers of AK, David Wayne Wohlers of NY, Daniel Eugene Wohlers of FL, and Paul Alvin Wohlers of CA; 12 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband J. Dorison Wohlers in 1998. Memorial donations may be made to the Adelphian Junior Academy.
