Curt G. Brown, age 33 of Holly died Friday, Aug. 8, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly with Pastor Ed Pedley officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be from 2-9 P.M. Monday and from 12:30 P.M. Tues until the time of the service. Curt was born in Flint on Feb. 10, 1975 the son of Al and Shirley (Pincomb) Brown. He had a great love for his family, his Harley and snow boarding. He was employed as a journeyman plumber. Surviving are his mother Shirley (Frank) Sargent of Holly; father Al Brown of Florida died Fri. July 25, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Mon. July 28, 2008 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly with Pastor Michigan on November 21, 1920 the daughter of William and Olive (Bixby) Green. She was retired from the GM Turnstead Plant and was a member of the UAW. She is survived by 3 children, James (Kay) Harden of Flint, David (Deanna) Harden of Holly, and Larry (Margaret) Harden of Gaylord; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 2 sisters Doreen Madsen of Torch Lake and Gladys (Stan) Siegel of Flint. The family gives special thanks to American House of Grand Blanc and to Crestmont Health Care Center.
Leona D. Tollenaar, age 97 of Holly and Leesburg, FL died Mon. July 21, 2008 at Canterbury On The Lake, Waterford. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 28, 2008 at St. Rita Catholic Church of Holly with Father David Blazek officiating. Mrs. Tollenaar was born in Brunswick, MI on Aug. 20, 1910 the daughter of Norman and Josephine (Host) Pointer, one of twelve children. She was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church of Holly and St. Paul Catholic Chucrh of Leesburg, FL. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles Tollenaar; dear mother of Karen (the late Roger) Maison of Holly and Leesburg, FL; grandmother of Kim Blain of Fountain, MI and Lisa (James) Klein of Holly; 4 great-grandchildren, Jonathon (Crystal), Sarrah, Joshua (Jennifer), and Julie (Kevin); 5 great-great-grandchildren, Ashley, Destiny, Olivia, Joshua II, and Alyric. Christopher L. Kici, age 42 of Ortonville died Fri. July 18, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly with Pastor Randy Cullen officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be from 2-5 and 7-9 PM Monday. Mr. Kici was born in Pontiac on February 20, 1966 the son of John and Elizabeth (Bartha) Kici. He attended the Lahser Prevocation Center and was the proud owner of Kici Enterprisers. Surviving are his mother Elizabeth Kici of Holly; brothers and sisters; Peter (Providencia) Kici of FL, Agnes (Joe) Miesch of Holly, Edward (Suzanne) Kici of Clarkston, and Melinda (Marc) O'Brian of South Lyon; nieces and nephews; Elizabeth, Nicholas, Katherine, Dylan, Delaney, Michael, and John Paul. The family gives special thanks to all Christopher's care givers for their loving and caring support over the years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Easter Seals or the Shriner's Hospitals.
David B. Grimm, age 75 of Holly died Mon. July 14, 2008. He was the beloved husband of Mary; dear step-father of 7 children; dear brother of Marilyn; and uncle of Linda and Richard. Private family services and burial will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Disabled American Vets. Mary Janet McCord passed away July 14, 2008 at age 86. Mary Janet was the 2nd of 3 children born to Mary Katherine and Mallory Stickney on Feb. 13, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan in liberal arts. She married Dr. Malcolm Christian McCord in 1950 in Clarkston, Mi. Her husband preceded her in death in 1956. Janet raised two boys, Michael and Chris. They were avid travelers and she was a devoted and loving mother. Janet was an accomplished painter and had her work exhibited in many galleries. She was a champion of nature conservation, preserving lands from development. She was an active member of the Clarkston Garden Club. Donations in her memory may be made to the Nature Conservancy.
Bonnie L. Eaton, age 86, formerly of Clarkston and Fenton died Thurs. July 10, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 14, 2008 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Linden. Visitation will be from 2-5 and 7-9 P.M. Sat. and Sun. Mrs. Eaton was born in Commerce Twp., MI on Nov. 28, 1921 the daughter of Earl and Viva (Buell) Fisher. She was a devoted wife and mother. She is survived by 2 children, Gerald (Joann) Eaton of Grand Blanc and Elaine (Jeff) Raschke of Lambertville; 2 granddaughters Debbie and Stephanie; 2 sisters Marjorie Teague of Davisburg and Maxine Youngs of Davison; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Sheldon, brothers Don, Bill, Glenn, and Earl Fisher; and sister Jean Hoover. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Ila J. Plumb, age 81 of Deming. NM, formerly of Holly died Wed. July 2, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly with Pastor Randy Cullen officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be from 2-5 and 7-9 P.M. Monday. Mrs. Plumb was born in Ortonville on Oct. 7, 1926 the daughter of Oliver and Daisy (Donaldson) VanKuren. She graduated from Holly High School in 1945. She retired from AC Spark Plug in Flint. She loved volunteer work, volunteering at a hospital and at a veterinary hospital in Deming. She was preceded in death by her husband Billy Plumb. She is survived by her sister Marie Widing of Fenton; nephews and nieces; Roger (Karen) Widing of Traverse City, Cathy Widing of Linden, Kelly Jones of Fenton, Randy Widing of CA, Penny (Delbert) Shoopman of OH, and Patrick (Toni) Widing of Fenton.
