age 76, died June 19, 2004. Beloved husband of Mary Lou. Loving father of Susan, Jane, Paul(Jane), Mark (Geanie), Nancy (Timothy)Rowell, and Peter Schmidt. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and brother, Carl Schmidt. Funeral from Church of St. Owen, 6869 Franklin Rd., Bloomfield Hills, Thursday 11 am. Visitation at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Rd. (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Tuesday and Wednesday 2-8 pm. Memorials to the Capuchins or Lourdes Nursing Home.

Lawrence V. Marchetti
age 84, of Bloomfield Hills, died April 5, 2004. Beloved husband of Geraldine Manser Marchetti. Dear father of Larry (Martha) Marchetti and Janet (Joel) Flom. Grandfather of Lisa and Paula Marchetti and Austin, Sarah and Peter Flom. Brother of Victor (Bernice) Marchetti. Katherine C. "Kate" Davis
age 94, of Rochester Hills, died October 1, 2004, at Lourdes Nursing Home in Waterford. Ms. Davis was born September 22, 1910, in Calumet, Michigan. Ms. Davis is survived by her siblings, Mamie (Charles) Farrar, Angeline (Mickey) MacCallum and Joseph Puhek, nieces, Sharon (Arthur) Pulte and Margaret (Steven) Humencheck and many other nieces and nephews. Ms. Davis is preceded in death by her daughter, Jean (Jack) Ludington, grandson, Gregory Ludington and siblings, Annie (John) Abeli, Mathew Puhek, Margaret (Thomas) McNeill and Agnes (Paul) Johnson. Funeral from St. Hugo of the Hills Stone Chapel, 2215 Opdyke Road, Bloomfield Hills, Tuesday 11am. Friends may visit at church beginning at 10:30am. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield. Jaroslav J. Vostal, M.D., PhD
Died at his home in Bloomfield Hills, Thursday October 7, 2004. Dr. Vostal was born March 17, 1927 in Prague, Czechoslovakia. He is survived by his wife, Milona, his children; Misha (Rick) Kendall, Dr Jaroslav (Dr. Donna) Vostal, Ondrej Vostal and Patrick (Sharon) Vostal, Grandchildren; Al, Stephanie, Gabriel, Olivia, Karl, Nikolas, and Kristopher. Funeral Mass will be Monday October 11th at 10:00 am at St. Regis Catholic Church (Lahser at Lincoln) Bloomfield Hills. Friends may visit at Church beginning at 9:30 am. Visitation will be at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home 1368 N. Crooks Rd. Clawson, Sunday October 10th from 2 until 8 pm. There will be a prayer service Sunday at 7 pm. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield. Memorials may be made to the St. Regis Church catholic Services Appeal.

Martha Elizabeth Dean
age 82, passed away October 10, 2004 at Wm. Beaumont Hospital in Troy, Michigan. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Clifford W. Dean. She will be sadly missed by her 5 children; Kenneth (Leslie) Dean, Sandra (Robert) Hubbard, Linda (Thomas) Doty, Ronald (Lisa) Dean, and Roger (Susan) Dean, 15 grandchildren, 2 great grandaughters, sister, Mildred (James) Weir and brother, James (Doris) Chestnut. Martha spent 25 dedicated years working with the children of Starr Presbyterian Church in the Sunday School Program. She was a wonderful and loving person to all who knew her. Funeral at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home 1368 N. Crooks Rd., Clawson, Wednesday, October 11th at 11:00 am. Visitation is Tuesday, October 12th from 3 until 9 pm. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association or Starr Presbyterian Church Children's Program.

Gertrude Proctor "Trudy" Charron
age 89, died at her home in Bloomfield Hills, October 2, 2004. Mrs. Charron was born August 18, 1915, in Detroit. She was a descendant of the prestigious Proctor family of Peoria, Illinois and the Storres family of Connecticut. Mrs. Charron married her husband, Clare, in Detroit and they shared a life together for 67 years. She was a member of Holy Name Church for 27 years and St. Owen Church for 5 years. Mrs. Charron was an accomplished pianist, co-founder of the Icon Dei Guild of Bloomfield Hills, board member of the Michigan Opera Company and a member of the Detroit Golf Club for at least 30 years. Mrs. Charron led an incredible life and will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. Mrs. Charron is survived by her children, Charles Proctor (Lori) Charron, Susan Davis and Julie (John) Hanson. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Charron is preceded in death by her husband, Clare Charron, son, Clare "Toby" (Mary Gay Jolly) Charron, Jr. and son-in-law, Doug Davis. Funeral from Holy Name Catholic Church, 630 Harmon St., Birmingham, Tuesday 10:30am. Friends may visit at church beginning at 10am. Visitation at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (Between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Monday 4-9pm. Prayers, Monday evening. Interment in Roseland Park Cemetery, Berkley. Donald Iles
a Royal Oak resident for 52 years, died October 1, 2004 at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. Mr. Iles was born in Bristol, England, February 20, 1927. He later came to America with his parents and maternal grandmother in 1929. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in both Germany and Italy. Mr. Iles retired from Don Iles Optical, Top of Troy Building, Troy, Michigan. He enjoyed piloting single engine aircraft for many years, was a member of The Detroit Terminal Model Railroad Club since the early 1980's and a 30 year member of Clawson-Troy Elks. Mr. Iles is survived by is wife, Patricia, whom he married in 1947; daughter, Susan D. Iles; son, Michael (Stacy) Iles and grandsons, Ryan and Evan Iles. Cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial gathering Saturday, October 9, 2004 from 1 pm to 6 pm to celebrate his life at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Clawson. The family suggests a donation to Food Bank of Oakland County in lieu of flowers.

William Francis Thomas
age 52, of Novi, died October 2, 2004, at St. Mary Mercy Hospital, Livonia. Mr. Thomas was born July 22, 1952, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife, Cherree and siblings, Robert (Patricia) Thomas, Michael (Lori) Thomas, Larry Thomas, Judy (Kent) West, Patrick Thomas, Francine (Jim) Whelan, Mary Thomas and Teresa Thomas. Mr. Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, William and Francine Thomas. Memorial service at Zion Christian Church, 3668 Livernois, Troy, Tuesday 12 noon. Friends may visit at the church beginning at 10am. Memorials appreciated to Zion Christian Church, c/o William F. Thomas Memorial Fund, 3668 Livernois, Troy, Michigan 48083. Donald B. Stewart
age 88, a long-time resident of Bloomfield Hills, died May 27, 2005 at Waltonwood Assisted Living in Canton. Mr. Stewart was born February 9, 1917 in Detroit. Mr. Stewart married Helen “Ella” Sneddon on October 18, 1941. Mr. Stewart was a decorated veteran Staff Sergeant – 88th infantry, Combat Engineer during WWII. Mr. Stewart was a member of the Kirk in the Hills, Bloomfield Hills. He received an associates degree in engineering from Lawrence Tech. and retired as Vice President/GM from Landis Manufacturing Company, Ferndale. Mr. Stewart enjoyed photography, fishing, gardening, but especially spending time with his family. Mr. Stewart was very patient man that could “fix anything”. His family will remember him most as a loving man that always felt his family was most important and leaves a great legacy. Mr. Stewart is survived by his beloved wife, Helen “Ella”; daughter, Ilene (Chip) Corbett, son, Tom (Biba) Stewart; grandsons, Clay and Drew Corbett and brother, Douglas A. Stewart. Mr. Stewart is preceded in death by his brother, Thomas A. Stewart. Funeral at Kirk in the Hills, 1340 W. Long Lake Rd., Bloomfield Hills, Wednesday 11am. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Detroit. Blanche F. Groth
age 85, of Troy, died May 24, 2005 at William Beaumont Hospital in Troy. Mrs. Groth was born September 20, 1919 in Detroit. Mrs. Groth is survived by her daughter, Jo Ann (Leon) Van Eden; daughter-in-law; Lynn Groth; grandchildren, Leon, David, Holly and Cory and great-grandson, Garrett. She is also survived by her sisters, Evelyn Lada and Ann Marr and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Groth is preceeded in death by her husband, Richard and son, Richard Groth. Funeral at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Rds. (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Saturday 11am. Visitation Friday 3-8pm.
