Ms. Davis is preceded in death by her daughter, Jean (Jack) Ludington, grandson, Gregory Ludington and siblings, Annie (John) Abeli, Mathew Puhek, Margaret (Thomas) McNeill and Agnes (Paul) Johnson. She will be sadly missed by her 5 children; Kenneth (Leslie) Dean, Sandra (Robert) Hubbard, Linda (Thomas) Doty, Ronald (Lisa) Dean, and Roger (Susan) Dean, 15 grandchildren, 2 great grandaughters, sister, Mildred (James) Weir and brother, James (Doris) Chestnut. Martha spent 25 dedicated years working with the children of Starr Presbyterian Church in the Sunday School Program. She was a wonderful and loving person to all who knew her. Gertrude Proctor "Trudy" Charron
age 89, died at her home in Bloomfield Hills, October 2, 2004. Mrs. Charron was born August 18, 1915, in Detroit. She was a descendant of the prestigious Proctor family of Peoria, Connecticut. Mrs. Charron married her husband, Clare, in Detroit and they shared a life together for 67 years. She was a member of Holy Name Church for 27 years and St. Owen Church for 5 years. Mrs. Charron was an accomplished pianist, co-founder of the Icon Dei Guild of Bloomfield Hills, board member of the Michigan 48304.
Donald Iles
a Royal Oak resident for 52 years, died October 1, 2004 at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. Mr. Iles was born in Bristol, England, February 20, 1927. He later came to America with his parents and maternal grandmother in 1929. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in both Germany and Italy. Mr. Iles retired from Don Iles Optical, Top of Troy Building, Troy, Pennsylvania. Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife, Cherree and siblings, Robert (Patricia) Thomas, Michael (Lori) Thomas, Larry Thomas, Judy (Kent) West, Patrick Thomas, Francine (Jim) Whelan, Mary Thomas and Teresa Thomas. Mr. Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, William and Francine Thomas. Memorial service at Zion Christian Church, 3668 Livernois, Troy, Tuesday 12 noon. Donald B. Stewart
age 88, a long-time resident of Bloomfield Hills, died May 27, 2005 at Waltonwood Assisted Living in Canton. Mr. Stewart was born February 9, 1917 in Detroit. Mr. Stewart married Helen “Ella” Sneddon on October 18, 1941. Mr. Stewart was a decorated veteran Staff Sergeant – 88th infantry, Combat Engineer during WWII. Mr. Stewart was a member of the Kirk in the Hills, Bloomfield Hills. He received an associates degree in engineering from Lawrence Tech. and retired as Vice President/GM from Landis Manufacturing Company, Ferndale. Mr. Stewart enjoyed photography, fishing, gardening, but especially spending time with his family. Mr. Stewart was very patient man that could “fix anything”. His family will remember him most as a loving man that always felt his family was most important and leaves a great legacy. Mr. Stewart is survived by his beloved wife, Helen “Ella”; daughter, Ilene (Chip) Corbett, son, Tom (Biba) Stewart; grandsons, Clay and Drew Corbett and brother, Douglas A. Stewart. Blanche F. Groth
age 85, of Troy, died May 24, 2005 at William Beaumont Hospital in Troy. Mrs. Groth was born September 20, 1919 in Detroit. Mrs. Groth is survived by her daughter, Jo Ann (Leon) Van Eden; daughter-in-law; Lynn Groth; grandchildren, Leon, David, Holly and Cory and great-grandson, Garrett. She is also survived by her sisters, Evelyn Lada and Ann Marr and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Groth is preceeded in death by her husband, Richard and son, Richard Groth.
