Wilfred A. Richardson, age 80 of Holly died Fri. Aug. 8, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly with Pastor Walter McConkey officiating. Military honors and burial will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly .Visitation will be from 2-9 P.M. Sunday and Monday. Mr. Richardson was born in Lachine, Michigan on Feb. 1, 1928 the son of Budd and Delora (Goodrich) Richardson. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Army. He retired from the Village of Holly DPW in 1993 after 19 years of service. He was a member of Amel Schwartz Post #149 American Legion and a member of the Holly Moose Lodge. He is survived by his wife Joann; 3 children, Greg (Kathy) Richardson, Mark Richardson, and Marie (Jonas) Lewandowski; 5 grandchildren, Michelle (Matt) Krueger, Jenny (John) Vidican, Joe Richardson, Becky Richardson, and Sean Lewandowski; great-grandchild Paul Krueger; and brother Chuck (Margie) Richardson. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Nellie Lambert, age 87 of Holly passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, Aug. 1, 2008 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly with Mr. Rian Berry officiating. Burial will be in Roseland Park Cemetery, Berkley. Visitation will be from 2-9 P.M. Thursday. Mrs. Lambert was born in Morgantown, WV on Sept. 17, 1920 the daughter of Nick and Mary (Chapil) Gauden. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was well loved by everyone. She loved gardening, her flowers, and baking. She was a member of the Holly Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Surviving are 4 children, Herman Lambert of Holly, Maryann Biondo of Macomb Twp., Lois Egerton of Holly and Larry Lambert of MO; 3 grandchildren, Robert Egerton, Kevin Biondo, and Darla Dome; great-grandchildren, Rob Egerton, Jonathan Egerton, Kyle Dome, Taylor Egerton, Kaitlyn Dome, Vincent Biondo, and Anthony Biondo. She was preceded in death by her husband Rodney L. Lambert. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Dorothy L. Childress, age 84 of Holly died Thurs. July 24, 2008 at home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at the Greater Grace Temple, 23500 W. Seven Mile Rd., Detroit, MI 48219, with Bishop Charles H. Ellis officiating. Visitation will be from 2-9 P.M. Sunday at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly. Mrs. Childress was born on June 5, 1924 in St. Louis, MO the daughter of Roosevelt and Auretha (Jones) Gay. She was a resident of Holly for 58 years. She was the former First Lady of the Bethlehem Church of All Nations of Northville "Salem", a member of the National Honor Society, a member of the Michigan Homemaker's Extension, was a volunteer for the March of Dimes, and was secretary of the Foreign Missions for Pentecostal Churches of the Apostolic Faith. Surviving are her husband of 62 years Guss Childress; 8 children, Carl Childress of Holly, Brenda Sizemore of Ypsilanti, Rosalind Williams of Ypsilanti, Shira (Don) Turrentine of Hawaii, Auretha Lynette (Roderick) Burbank of Belleville, Victor Childress of Holly, Leslie B. (Lilly) Childress of Grand Blanc, and Michael (Carol) Childress of Holly; 24 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law Vivian E. Gay of Lansing. She was preceded in death by her daughter Marilyn Childress and brother Theodis Gay.

Barbara A. Alvarado, age 61 of Fenton, formerly of Holly died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, Jan. 15, 2010 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be from 2-5 and 7-9 PM Thursday. Barbara was born in Holly on May 27, 1948 the daughter of Robert and Marian (Rugg) Albert. She was a loving mother and grandmother, was hard working, and had a big heart. She loved camping, and she was a member of the Holly Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. She is survived by 3 children, Tina Marie (Tony) Kane of Caro, Antonio B. (Amy) Alvarado Jr. of Rifle, MI, and Allen Matthew (Angel) Alvarado of Holly; 9 grandchildren, Jessica Walsh, Sarah Kane, Savannah Ewers, Joslyn Ewers, Mason Agelink, Michael Spencer, Matthew Spencer, Anthony Alvarado, and David Alvarado; sister Marion Herkel of PA; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Jim Rugg and Allen Pennell. Memorial donations may be made to the family.

John W. Verran, age 45 of Holly died Fri. Jan. 1, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wed. Jan. 6, 2010 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly with Pastor Jim Wiegand and Pastor Adam Cooke officiating. Military honors will be under the auspices of Hulet-Bravender Post # 5587 VFW and Amel Schwartz Post #149 American Legion. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be from 2-5 and 7-9 P.M. Tuesday. Mr. Verran was born in Ishpeming, MI on Feb. 17, 1964 the son of Bud and Betty (Morin) Verran. He was a veteran of the US Army and was the owner of PineRidge Photography. He especially loved his family and cherished his wife. He is survived by his wife Fayth; 4 children, Kendra (Brandon) Verran, Nicole (Shawn) Verran, John (Tina) Verran, and Danielle (Jon) Miller-Piche all of Holly; 5 grandchildren, Andi, John Thomas, Hannah, Jonathan, and baby Brynn; 3 sisters Gail (Al) Longtine of Ishpeming, Melanie (Rodney) Garbett of Marquette, and Judy (Jan) Verran of Negaunee; and many loving nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial donations may be made to Ronald McDonald House.

James A. Linke, age 84 of Holly died Sat. Dec. 12, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Wed. Dec. 16, 2009 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly with Pastor Brandon Korter officiating. Military honors and burial will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be from 2-9 PM Tuesday. Mr. Linke was born in Detroit on June 20, 1925 the son of Carl and Mary (Weiden) Linke. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Navy and was retired from Rite Mark Stamp. He attended the Holly Seventh-Day Adventist Church and was especially devoted to his granddaughters. He is survived by his son Mark Linke of Holly; daughter Betsy (Rick) Ayers of Holly; 3 granddaughters, Stacy Ayers of Holly, Stephanie Ayers of FL, and Natalie Ayers of Holly; great-granddaughter Gwen; twin brother Francis Linke of Lewiston; sister Agnes McNiece of Orion; and his beloved pet Barney. He was preceded in death by his wife Sophia Linke, brother Carl Linke, and sister Dorothy Hraback. Memorial donations may be made to the Holly Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

Reuben (Milton) W. Senter, age 88 went home to be with his Lord and Savior on November 28, 2009. He died peacefully with his wife of 56 years, Leona and daughter Kym at his side. Reuben was born November 28, 1921 in Gladstone, Michigan to Chauncey and Doris (Marshall) Senter. Reuben was a proud Veteran of the United States Army during World War II, serving as a radio operator. He was the sole owner and operator of Christian Brothers Landscaping until he retired. Reuben was not only a proud soldier for his country, but also a proud soldier for the Lord. He was one of several founders of Fellowship Bible Church in Hartland, Michigan. He was a loving husband, father, and great-grandfather. Surviving are his wife Leona (Miller) of Linden; children, Theresa (John) Morse of Cadillac. Milton John (Rebecca) Senter of Grand Ledge, Larry Senter of Fenton, and Kym (Rod) Cook of Vernon; five grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; his brother Chauncey and sisters Beverly, Vera, Peggy, and Bonnie. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly. Interment and Military Honors will be held Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Tuesday. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice at Brian's House, 1515 Cal Dr., Davison, Michigan 48233.

Earl J. Sullivan, age 87 of Dunedin, FL, formerly of Rochester Hills died Monday, Nov. 9, 2009 in Dunedin. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, Nov. 13, 2009 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly. Burial and military honors will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-9 P.M. Thursday. Mr. Sullivan was born in Chicago, IL on Aug. 28, 1922 the son of Daniel and Frances (Mahar) Sullivan. He served in the US Army during WWII and was retired from Avon Tube of Rochester. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church of Dunedin, and was a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society and the Holy Name Society. Surviving are 2 sons David Sullivan of Fenton and Andrew Sullivan of Las Vegas, NV; 3 daughters Joan Todd of CO, Angela Bourdeau of Cheboygan, and Dori Courtney of Holly; 7 grandchildren; and sister Bernice Bernau. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Barbara, sons John and Timothy, and grandson Matthew.

Alice M. Connors, age 74 of Highland died Thurs. Nov. 5, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be from 2-5 and 7-9 P.M. Sunday and Monday. Mrs. Connors was born in Goodrich, MI on Aug. 20, 1935 the daughter of Joseph and Estelle (Wisnewski) Rembach. She enjoyed making crafts with her sisters, attending craft shows, and spoiling her granddaughter Carley. She is survived by her husband Jerry; 2 sons Brian Connors of White Lake and Kevin Connors of Highland; granddaughter Carley Connors of Highland; sisters and brothers, Val Walter of Waterford, Amelia Blust of Union Lake, Chester Rembach of Caseville, Dorothy Kilmer of Holly, Joseph Rembach of Holly, and Irene Fagan of Holly. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Phyllis Vergin of Byron, Edward Rembach of Highland, and Stanley Rembach of Ortonville. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Linda King Weil, age 69 of Holly died Sat. Oct. 24, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly with Pastor Patricia Harton officiating. Burial will be in Hadley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-5 and 7-9 P.M. Wednesday. Mrs. Weil was born in Royal Oak on Apr. 29, 1940 the daughter of Stockton and Elizabeth (Stevens) King. She was a former bus driver for Holly Schools. She was the owner of Holly Safety First where she was a road test examiner and was a member of the support staff of the North Oakland Fire Authority. She loved her grandchildren, her work, camping, and spending time with her friends. She is survived by her son Matthew Weil of Holly; 3 grandchildren, Matthew, Marcus, and Nicholas; brother John King of Holly; former husband James Weil of Holly; 1 niece and 5 nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son Marcus. Memorial donations may be made to an education fund for her grandchildren.
