Hazel Brown
age 91, of Union City, Tennessee. She was a homemaker and a former member of the First Baptist Church in Plymouth. She enjoyed needlework, cooking, visiting with friends, and being with her family. She is survived by her children, Joyce (Bill) Benjamin of Wixom, and Janet Phillips of Farmington Hills; her grandchildren, James Mills of Grand Blanc, Steven (Jenifer) Lamb of Allen Park, Renee (Bob) Kropp of Wixom, Kathy Pyke of Wixom, Kevin (Deanna) Brown of Florida; and eight great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Velt, and her son, Gene. Funeral from Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main, Plymouth, Tuesday 12noon. Visitation Tuesday 10am-12pm. J. Del Kauffman
age 73, of Plymouth, died December 5, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Diane; his children, James Delmer (Paula) Kauffman, III, Jeffrey (Donna) Kauffman, Paul (Dawn) Kauffman, and Julie (Mark) Phillips; and nine grandchildren. Ann Riley
age 73, of Canton, died December 3, 2003. She was born February 9, 1930, in Chattham, Ontario. She came to the Canton community in 1979. She was a retired bookkeeper in the automotive industry, and recently worked at Longacre House in Farmington. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Western Ontario University in 1952. She served as President of the VFW Post #6695 Auxilliary in Plymouth, and was a member of the Plymouth Elks Vivians. She spoke six languages, English, Greek, Russian, German, French, and Latin. She was avid reader who loved history. She adored her grandchildren. She is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Floyd; her sons, Kevin (Heidi) of Campbellsport, WI, and Greg (Pat)of Belleville; her grandchildren, David and Elizabeth; her lifelong friend Soter (Connie) Liberty; and many other loving friends and relatives. Dominic Persichini
age 70, of Plymouth, died December 2, 2003, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Superior Township. He was born September 13, 1933, in Italy. He came to the Plymouth community 25 years ago from Garden City. He was the retired owner of Air Gage Company in Livonia, which is still in existence today. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Plymouth. He was a current member of the Italian-American Club in Livonia, and a former member of the Livonia Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed golf and tennis and was an avid card player. He especially loved food and his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Catherine “Kaye;” his children, David of Boca Raton, Florida; his grandchildren, Meredyth, Anna, Anthony, and Gabrielle Yanke, Kristina, Alexandra, and Erica Strucel, and Dominic Persichini; his brother and sister, Marino (Ruth) Persichini of Warren, and Alice (Sam) Sbrocca of Shelby; and his brother-in-law, John (Lena) Oddo of Shelby. Later, she trained as a beautician and made her career as a hairdresser and cosmetologist for the past eighteen years at J.C. Penny’s of Twelve Oaks Mall. Barbie loved to dance. She loved disco music and street dancing. In the early eighties she appeared twice on “Dance Fever” and won regional competitions that earned her a trip to Michigan State University, studying horticulture and literature. He was an avid reader with broad tastes and appreciation, from Shakespeare to Ray Bradbury, Tolkien to Vonnegut. And Mike loved music, especially Rock and Roll and great guitarists. Jeff Beck, Warren Davies, The Steve Miller Band, Bob Marley and Jerry Garcia and The Grateful Dead were just a few of the many musicians he loved. He might have written for Rolling Stone, so comprehensive was his knowledge of the music of his times. Michael is survived by his companion of over twenty-five years, Barbara Miller, his mother Mary Reader, his brother, Tige (Colleen) Reader, and sisters, Julie Ann Reader, Robin Barnes, Martha (Wayne) Field, Susan (David) Dieck, Mary (Ric)Lazar, Anne (Kerry McClean) Reader and Bradford S. Lillian May Taggie
age 87, of Plymouth, died July 26, 2003. She was born April 4, 1916, in Baltimore, Maryland. She was a resident of Ann Arbor for over twenty-one years. She was also a former resident of London, Ontario, and Taylor, Massachusetts, and Edward (Sandra) Taggie of Plymouth; her grandchildren, April (David) Taggie Hoffman, Elizabeth Taggie, Ben Taggie, and Nick Taggie; and her great grandchildren, Erin, Jacob, and Julia Hoffman. She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, and her grandson, Matthew. A memorial service will be held at Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main, Plymouth, Friday, August 22, at 10am. He enjoyed collecting stamps, trains, and model die-cast cars. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne (nee Angus); his children, Donald Charles of Plymouth, Suzette (Jamie) Ivey of Wichita, Kansas, and Wendy Clare Watkins of San Francisco, California; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Nicole, Don, and Jessica; and his great granddaughter, Natalie.
