STUART CARL HORDS, 68, of Redford Township, died May 26, 2001. He is survived by his beloved wife, Betty Hords; sons and daughter-in-law, David Kramer of California, Brandon and Ann Marie Hords of White Lake, Jason Czech of Waterford, Scott Sieting of South Carolina; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Larry Hamilton of California, Lauren and Danny Cox of California, Renee and Phil Goll of Highland, Lisa and Bruce Branham of Biloxi, Miss., Shelly Haney of Rialto, California, Kym and Kevin Wendell of Redford Township; sister, Gloria Sternberg of Farmington Hills; grandchildren, Jennifer, Kimberly, Jason, Shonnie, Lauren, Kayla, Alexis, Andrew, Jessica, Kenneth, Nicholas, Amanda, Danielle, Carie. He was the father of the late Dennis Hords; brother of the late Howard Hords.

JOSEPH S. KATZ, 77, of Southfield, died Oct. 4, 2000. He was a retired pharmacist with musical roots. He received a music scholarship to Wayne State University, played music in the army and later joined the Jewish Center Symphony Orchestra. At 40, he discovered the recorder and within years he was playing in concerts and composing music for the recorder. He also performed with many local synagogue choirs. He is survived by his wife, Fern Katz; sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph and Deborah Katz of Ann Arbor, Louis and Gail Busch Katz of Corpus Christy, Texas; brother, Bernard Katz of Detroit; grandchildren, Rachel Katz, Naomi Katz, Sam Katz, Ben Katz. Mr. Katz was the loving father of the late David Katz; loving brother of the late Bill Katz. NORMAN MORRIS KATZ, 84, of Southfield, died Oct. 2, 2000. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Barbara Katz of Downers Grove, Ill.; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Les Kaplan of Southfield; grandchildren, Bruce and Cheri Epstein, Paule Katz, Cherie and Michael Peterson, Geoffrey Kaplan. RUTH KATZ, 86, of Hazel Park, died July 22, 2000. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Eleanor Factor of Las Vegas, Nev. She was the beloved wife of the late Bernard Katz. BERNARD KATZ, 87, of Oak Park, died July 9, 2000. He was the owner of Oakman Hardware, a cryptologist during World War II and member of Congregation Beth Shalom. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Norma Katz; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Katz Saffer and Jason Saffer of California, Susan Katz White and Richard White of Pennsylvania; son, Frank Katz of California; grandchildren, Rachel Saffer, Justin and Rylan Katz White; sister, Sally Solomon. He was the dear brother of the late Milton Katz, the late William Katz and the late Albert Katz. Interment at Oakview Cemetery. Contributions may be directed to Jewish Vocational Services. WILFRED L. KATZ, 81, of Bloomfield Hills, died March 22, 2000. Mr. Katz was the co-owner and co-founder of John R Lumber. He was a member of Temple Israel. Mr. Katz is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bernice Katz; daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie and Frederic Keywell of West Bloomfield, Pamela and Dr. Richard Zakheim of Miami; son and daughter-in-law, Michael Katz and Dr. Barbara Dutmers of Colorado; grandchildren, Julie Keywell and Timothy Giardina, Bradley and Kim Keywell, Noah Katz; great-grandchildren, Jacob Giardina, Chloe Keywell, Casey Keywell; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Bernice and Katz of West Bloomfield. DAVID M. KATZ, 47, of San Francisco, formerly of Detroit, died Jan. 22, 2000. He is survived by his parents, Fern and Joe Katz of Southfield; brothers and sisters-in-law Ralph and Deborah Katz of Ann Arbor, Louis Katz and Gail Busch of Corpus Christi, Texas; Interment at Machpelah Cemetery in Ferndale. IDA KATZ, 84, of Farmington Hills, died Dec. 6, 1999. Mrs. Katz is survived by her sister, Bessie Piper; nieces and nephews Barbara and Nick Altwerger, Nancy and Jay Waldman, Clifford and Myra Klayman, Martin and Margo Katz, Joel Corwin, Dr. James Piper and Dr. Michael and Rhonda Piper; great-nieces and nephews. She was the beloved wife of the late Benjamin Katz and the dear sister of the late Rebecca Corwin, the late Maurice Klayman, the late Sally Kosit and the late Sarah Katz. LOUIS KATZ, 77, of Indio, Calif., died March 22, 1999. He was branch manager for Hearst publishing for 30 years. He is survived by his wife, Freda Katz, son Jeffrey Katz of Palm Springs, Calif.; sisters Ethel Kay of Palm Desert, Calif., Sylvia Kort of Palm Desert, Miriam Fields of West Bloomfield.

IRIS LEE KATZ, 70, of Farmington Hills, died March 21. Mrs. Katz is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Marva and Peter Sugar of Bloomfield Hills, Nanci Katz of Waterford; sons and daughters-in-law Garry and Jeanne Katz of Brighton, Lon and Debra Katz of West Bloomfield; grandchildren Liza, Carly and Dana Sugar, Jill, Michelle, Evan and Morgan Katz; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Ilene Karson of West Bloomfield. BENJAMIN "BEN" KATZMAN, 77, of Waterford, died March 1, 1999. Mr. Katzman was a member of Perfection Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Maureen and Dr. Larry Ashman of Farmington Hills, Suzi and Dr. Ronald Bonheim of Waterford; brothers and sisters-in-law Sidney and Sara Kay of Southfield, Maury and Barbara Katzman of Southfield; grandchildren Joel Ashman, Carlee Ashman, Beckie Bonheim, Tony Bonheim. Mr. Katzman was the beloved husband of the late Marion Katzman; loving brother of the late Joseph Katzman. MOLLY SILBERSCHEIN KATZ, 73, of Greensboro, N.C., died Feb. 8, 1999. She was born in Luninyetz, Poland, grew up in Canada and moved to Detroit when she married the late Abraham Silberschein. She later married the late Isadore Katz. She was active in Pioneer Women/Na'amat USA and the PTA. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Moshe and Susan Silberschein of Jerusalem; daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Dr. Sanford Herman of Greensboro, N.C.: brothers and sisters-in-law Meyer and Helen Goldbaum of Hallandale, Fla., Isadore and Adrienne Goldbaum of Farmington Hills; sister Sonia Siegal of Toronto; grandchildren Rachel Herman, Samuel Herman, Aviad Silberschein, Alon Silberschein. ROSE KATZMAN, 95, of Michigan, died Jan. 2. Born Rose Simon in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of Gussie and Solomon Simon of Brooklyn. A retired elementary school teacher, Mrs. Katzman had lived in New York untill 1994 when she moved to Michigan to make her home with her daughter. A lifelong commitment to the community was evinced through her work with Hadassah, Yeshiva University Women, the sisterhood of Young Israel of Flatbush, N.Y., and the order of the Eastern Star, N.Y. She had served with distinction in leadership capacity in all of these organizations throughout the course of her life. She is survived by daughter, Charlotte Phyllis Katzman of Farmington Hills; son and daughter-in-law, Arthur M. (Joan) Katzman of New York; sister, Ruth Resnick Siegel of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; grandchildren, Jonathan and Alan Oscher of San Francisco, Suzanne of Florida, Andrea of Los Angeles, Daniel, Benjamin and Adina Katzman of New York; nephews, Stanley (Ruth) Resnick of New York and Harold (Barbara) Resnick of Massachusetts; nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces, cousins. Mrs. Katzman was the beloved wife of the late Benjamin Katzman. Contributions may be made to Hadassah, 5030 Orchard Lake Road, West Bloomfield, MI 48323, or to a charity of one's choice. ALICE KATZ, 91, of Oak Park, died June 27. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Barbara and Daniel Allen of Boca Raton, Fla., Jimmy and Denise Weiner, Roseann and Buddy Fenster, Lisa Cohen; great-nieces and great-nephews; great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. LILLIAN LEVEY, 76, of Hollywood, Fla., died Oct. 5, 2000. LILLIAN LEVINE, 95, of West Bloomfield, died May 2, 2001.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Patricia Levine of West Bloomfield; grandchildren, Paul Levine, James (Sigal) Levine, Daniel (Kathryn) Levine; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Gabriel, Gillian, Griffin and Jessica. She was the beloved wife of the late Louis Levine; sister of the late Benjamin Gastman, Hyman Gastman and Molly Cameron.

IRVING S. LEVINE, 82 of Farmington Hills, died Jan. 25.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Levine; son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Janis Levine of Farmington Hills; daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Stewart Shipper of West Bloomfield; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gary and Barbara Eisenberg, Lawrence and Barbara Eisenberg, Leon London; grandchildren, Scott Levine, Ben Shipper, Allie Shipper, David Shipper. He was the loving brother-in-law of the late Annette London, the late Dorothy and Nate Robbins.

MARTIN S. LEVINE, 65, of West Bloomfield, died Jan. 23. He was a self-employed residential and commercial painting contractor. He was also a member of the Painters Union and B'nai B'rith.
Mr. Levine is survived by his wife, Bobbie Levine; daughter, Audrey Hershkovitz of Georgia; son, Mitchell Levine of Sylvan Lake; grandchildren, Tali and Ariele Hershkovitz; father and stepmother, Benjamin and Sally Levine of Northville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Allen and Bonnie Levine of West Bloomfield, Kenny and Lynn Levine of West Bloomfield; sister and brother-in-law, Kaylee and Jeff Freedman of West Bloomfield; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ellie and Bernie Benkoff. He was the loving son of the late Freda Levine.
