BERNARD KATZ, 87, of Oak Park, died July 9, 2000. He was the owner of Oakman Hardware, a cryptologist during World War II and member of Congregation Beth Shalom. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Norma Katz; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Katz Saffer and Jason Saffer of Pennsylvania; son, Frank Katz of Texas; Interment at Machpelah Cemetery in Ferndale. IDA KATZ, 84, of Farmington Hills, died Dec. 6, 1999. Mrs. Katz is survived by her sister, Bessie Piper; nieces and nephews Barbara and Nick Altwerger, Nancy and Jay Waldman, Clifford and Myra Klayman, Martin and Margo Katz, Joel Corwin, Dr. James Piper and Dr. Michael and Rhonda Piper; great-nieces and nephews.
