Passed away Thursday, December 13, 2007 at Tendercare Midland. Age 83 years. Donald D. Brandle was born on June 25, 1924 in Saginaw, to the late Max and Olga (Kovacs) Brandle. He worked at Brandle Department Store for many years; he later worked for the Arnold Center, Inc. in Midland, for ten years. Donald was a member of Temple B’nai Israel. Surviving is one brother, Marvin (Janice) Brandle, two nephews, Robert Roth, and Ronald Roth. He is preceded in death by a sister, Bretha Roth.
Funeral - Donald’s Funeral Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 16, 2007 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rabbi Karen Companez will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hebrew Cemetery.
Visitation - Friends may call at the Deisler Funeral Home on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m.

Bruce, Vivian J.

Passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at Covenant Medical Center Cooper. Age 87 years. Vivian France was born on October 6, 1917 in Saginaw to the late Orval and Helen (Uphoff) France. Vivian graduated from Arthur Hill High School, class of 1936. She was the President of the Mid-Michigan Parents without Partners, was active in the March of Dimes for many years and loved music and sang in both local and national big bands. Vivian was a co-manager of her sonŐs band. Surviving are two sons, Richard and Kathy Bruce, Saginaw; Eugene and Gayle Bruce, Saginaw; grandchildren: Jill (Lee) Phillips, Aurora, Ill.; Randall (Lori) Bruce, McComb, Mich.; Valerie Bruce, Chicago, Ill.; Judy Bruce, Evanston, Ill.; Stephanie Bruce, Lansing, Mich.; Kimberly Bruce, Saginaw; step-grandchildren, Christopher Kellett, Saginaw and Katie Kellett, Saginaw and many nieces and nephews. Vivian was preceded in death by a son, Charles Bruce III, a sister, Jean Schulz and a brother, Carl France.
Funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter (off State). Rev. James Sorenson will officiate. Entombment will be in Oakwood Mausoleum. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service. Burke, Richard H.

Passed away Saturday, August 19, 2006 at Covenant Medical Center- Cooper. Age 82 years. Richard was born on August 29, 1923 in Port Huron, to the late Louis and Marjorie (Fisher) Burke. He married Ruth E. Ludlum on September 7, 1967 in Saginaw. She survives him. Richard was a meat cutter for over 40 years, leaving the business in 1983. Richard then went to work for Brennan Real Estate for 13 years as a Facilitator Director. He was a member of the Baptist Faith. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, bowling, gardening especially his flowers. Richard was also known for his ability to sing.
Surviving besides his wife Ruth are five daughters; Sandra (Charles) Reeder; Saginaw. Cheryl (Timothy) Geese; Saginaw, Dana (Michael) Flask. Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jodi (Vito) Gillette, Saginaw, Claudia (James) Williams, Owosso, also surviving are 11 grandchildren. 9 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren,, one brother, Gordon (Joyce) Burke, Louisiana.
Funeral - Memorial Service will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2006 at the Deisler Funeral Home 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Pastor Carol Wesolek will officiate and cremation has already taken place.
Visitation - Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

Burns, Dorothy L.

Passed away Thursday, August 3, 2006 at Covenant Medical Center - Harrison. Age 82 years. Dorothy Gettel was born on October 5, 1923 to the late John and Kathrine (Schnepp) Gettel. She married James Burns on June 6, 1953 in Saginaw. Dorothy had been employed, as an office manager for Dr. Durman. Following Dr. Durman’s retirement Dorothy worked in the office of Stevens Van Lines. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, and a member of the Ladies of St. Mark. Dorothy enjoyed spending time at her cottage on Lake Ogemaw. Surviving are two sisters Esther (Kenneth) Ainsworth of Denver, Colorado and Vernita Currey of Sebewaing, Michigan. Also surviving are 11 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters; Roland Gettel, Harold Gettel, Gerhard Gettel, Wilmer Gettel, Donald Gettel, Erna Sting and Milda Gettel. Dorothy was a very loving and caring sister and aunt, she will truly be missed.
Funeral - Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 7, 2006 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 2565 N. Miller Rd. Deacon Roy Luplow will officiate. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at Covenant Medical Center-Cooper. Age 57 years. Lance was born on February 10, 1948 in Flint, Mich., to the late Henry and Irene (Elsinger) Brewster, Sr. He married Mary M. Kinzinger on July 21, 1977 and she survives him. Lance was self-employed as an accountant and broker at LCB & Associates for over 25 years. He attended the Saginaw Bay Church of Christ. He also was a member of the Bridgeport Lions Club. Surviving besides his wife, Mary, are two daughters, Kathy and Kollett Brewster; 10 sisters and brothers, Mary M. (Earl) Urbanke; Eugene H. (Julie) Brewster; Henry J. (Roberta) Brewster, Jr.; Craige L. Brewster; Danae M. Brewster; Wayne A. Brewster; Derrick L. (Marion) Brewster; Rhonda K. Becker; Wayde A. Brewster; Vickie L. (Dennis) Goddard; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Deborah Brewster.
Funeral and committal services will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2005 at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave. The Rev. Hank Kott will officiate. In accordance with Lance’s wishes, cremation will follow and burial of his ashes will be in Ziegler West Cemetery in Burt, Mich. Listen to the angles of heaven sing and rejoice as Louise Lennox Boudot Jewell went home to be with our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ on December 12, 2003. Her work is finished here on earth but has just begun in heaven. Louise was born March 20, 1926 in Saginaw to Amanda Main Lennox of Tuscola, Mich and Robert Lennox of Pierce Station, TN, both who have predeceased Louise. She married Virgil Jewell on July 2, 1945. He predeceased her in December 1982. She remarried on February 14, 1997 to Robert Boudot who predeceased her on April 22, 2002. Louise was also predeceased by her brother Bob in 1979 and her sons Richard Jewell in 2003 and Jimmy who passed away as an infant. Surviving Louise is her sister, Ava Romaine; niece Devon Brock; two great-nieces all of Houston, TX; her children, Edson Jewell, Houston, TX; daughter-in-law Joy Jewell; Roberta Jewell, Bridgeport, Mich; Wendie and Ken Brewer, Bay City, Mich; John and Maria Jewell, Houston, TX; Jean Davila, Cindie Cook and Jerry Jewell all of Saginaw; and Vickie and Daniel Brown, Reese, Mich; thee step-children, Robert and Carol Jewell, Rapid City, Mich; Kay and Chuck Wright, Sanford, Mich; and Joy Jewell, Birch Run, Mich; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Louise was a great supporter of Saginaw Rescue Mission and volunteered for many years and was once voted as Volunteer of the Year. She drove bus for Bridgeport-Spaulding Schools for close to 30 years and was voted Bus Driver of the Year in the early 1970s.

Cemetery. Loving mother, grandmother was called home to her Lord peacefully on Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at her home. Age 84 years. Lois K. Appold was born on June 7, 1920 in Saginaw to the late Gerhard and Regina (Graebner) Appold. She was married to Adolph (Ade) Boesenecker on September 20, 1941, becoming the first members to be married in Peace Lutheran Church. They celebrated 59 years of marriage. Ade predeceased her on September 28, 2000. Lois was a charter member Peace Lutheran Church where she had remained very active. She was graduated from the Saginaw General Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse and retired in 1976. She was a member of the Saginaw General Hospital Alumni Association. Surviving are one son, three daughters and their spouses, Gerald F. and Ruth Boesenecker, Henderson, NV; Barbara Jean and Duane Bremer, Midland, Mich.; Mary Kay and David Becker, Heber City, UT; Susan Marie and Bryan Korth, Saginaw; two granddaughters and seven grandsons, Dawn and Adam DeFields, Geoffrey and Erin Bremer, Quinn and Helen Boesenecker, John Doane, Bob and Casey Doane, Mike and Faye Doane, Ron and Jamie Doane, Suzette Sobak, Rev. Dennis and Janee’ Doane; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Raymond and Henrietta Appold, Fla.; also very special in-laws, nieces and nephews.
