Colling, Lawrence (Larry) Walter

Passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 21, 2007. Age 53 years. Lawrence W. Colling was born on November 6, 1954 in Saginaw, Michigan to Jack L. and Mary Ann (Fortin) Colling. He married Linda Lou (Bosnyak) DeOpsomer on June 17, 1988 in Saginaw; she survives him. He was a 1972 graduate of St. Stephen High School and received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Saginaw Valley State University. He was employed by Preferred Consulting and Investigations. Larry loved spending time with his wife and children. He also enjoyed his family home and pool. Larry loved his 1951 Harley Davidson Panhead, golfing, and playing darts and cards. Surviving are his wife, Linda; a stepson, Samuel Paul DeOpsomer II; a stepdaughter, Patricia Dana DeOpsomer; and father, Jack L. Colling. Larry was loved and adored by his five surviving sisters, Leanne (David) Jankowiak; Karin (Brian) Hobbs; Jackie Pasterz; Jeanne (Ray) Hock; Patricia (Richard) Hunter; and many nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann Colling.
Funeral Service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 24, 2007 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Fr. Leonard Stunek, OFM will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Deisler Funeral Home on Sunday, December 23, 2007 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Cooper, Elizabeth M. (Archambault)

Went home to the Lord, with her family at her side on Monday, March 14, 2005. Age 78 years. Elizabeth Countegan was born March 20, 1926 in Saginaw to the late Joseph & Otillie (Webber) Countegan. She was employed as a beautician and then worked at Saginaw General Hospital until her retirement. Elizabeth was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church of Hemlock and the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. Surviving are three daughters, Sharon (James) Delorme of Torrance, CA; Betty (Tom) Pike, Spring City, TN; Annette (Dan) Schmidt of Anderson, SC; one son, Joseph (Diane) Archambault of Freeland, MI; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Linus (Sylvia) Countegan; two sisters, Genevieve Purman and Rosemary (Rod) Gast; and many nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husbands, Clarence Archambault and Lawrence Cooper; and a sister, Marion Rouesseau.
A Memorial Mass will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 17, 2005 at St. Mary Catholic Church of Hemlock. Friends may call at the church 10:00 a.m. Thursday until the time of Mass. Cronin, George F.

Passed away Saturday morning March 12, 2005 at the Saginaw Pines Nursing Home. Age 88 years. George Francis Cronin was born November 17, 1916 in San Mateo, Calif. to the late Albert and Katherine (Pike) Cronin. He married Helen A. McPhee on February 22, 1941 in Saginaw, she survives him. George had been employed by Chevrolet Transmission from 1936 to 1946. He then worked for Jewel Tea Co. from 1946 to 1949. George was then employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier from 1949 to 1978. George was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church as well as being a charter member and usher of St. Helen Catholic Church. He was also a former member of the K of C #4322. George served with the U.S. Army during WWII. He was an avid bowler and golfer, serving as past-president of the Saginaw Bowling Association.
Surviving besides his wife, Helen, are one son and one daughter and their spouses, Bob and Mary Jo Cronin of Caledonia, Michigan and Kathy and Paul Arnhold of Saginaw; four grandchildren: Kellie and Rob Cronin of Caledonia and Michael and Amy Arnhold of Saginaw; one sister, Aileen Bossman of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and three nieces and one nephew.
George was preceded in death by one brother, Robert W. Cronin.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place 12:30 p.m. Wednesday March 16, 2005 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St. Fr. Robert Konopa, OFM will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Tuesday March 15, 2005 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm and 7:00 –9:00 pm and on Wednesday at the church from 12 Noon until the time of Mass. Passed away Sunday, September 17, 2006 at Community Village. Age 88 years. Helen Ann McPhee was born October 6, 1917 to the late Archibald and Theresa (Reimus) McPhee. She was married to George F. Cronin on February 22, 1941 in Saginaw. He predeceased her on March 12, 2005. She had been employed by J.C. Penney’s retiring in 1979. Helen was a charter member of St. Helen Catholic Church and the PTA, and in the later years was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Helen enjoyed golfing and her card club. Surviving are one son and daughter; Robert (Mary Jo) Cronin, Caledonia, MI.; Kathleen (Paul) Arnhold, Saginaw; four grandchildren Kellie, Rob, Michael, and Amy, several nieces and nephews, one sister-in-law Louise McPhee. Helen was preceded in death by one brother Lawrence McPhee and one sister, Rosemary McPhee.
Funeral - Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church 5376 State St.. Fr. Leonard Stunek, OFM will officiate with Rite of Committal and burial in St. Andrew Cemetery.

Passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at his home. Age 67 years. Jim was born December 27, 1937 in Saginaw to the late Henry E. and Mary G. (Rutherford) Dark. He married Evelyn L. Miller on November 29, 1958 in Bay County, Mich. She survives him. Prior to his retirement in 1996, he was employed at Delphi for 30 years. Jim was elected Supervisor of Billings Township in 2004. He was a member of St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Freeland. Surviving besides his wife, Evelyn, is one son, Scott A. Dark and his fiancée Marie Turner, Coleman; seven grandchildren, Kristen, Rochelle, Ashley, Raylynn, Colton, Rachel and David; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by one brother, Rodney Enoch.
Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2005 at St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 6185 Hospital Road, Freeland. The Rev. Spencer Biga will officiate with burial in St. Matthew’s Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Passed away unexpectedly Sunday, March 7, 2004 at Covenant Medical Center-Cooper. Age 45 years. Kathy was born June 8, 1958 in Saginaw. Was graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1976. She was employed in auto sales at Garber Buick in Saginaw for over 10 years. Kathy was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Surviving are her four sisters, Cheryl (Leonard) Heinzman; Robin Demski (Robert Sheets); Debbie Hoffman; Sandy (Mike) Laundra; three nieces and one nephew, who were the love of her live, Sarah and Marti Laundra; Jamie and Jacob Hoffman. Also one very special aunt, Lorraine K. Mielke. Kathy was predeceased by her parents.
In accordance with Kathy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Her memorial service will be held 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2004 at Zion Lutheran Church, 1209 Hancock St., Saginaw. Pastor Betsy E. Kamphuis will officiate.
