Daggett, Charlotte MacKinnon

Passed away March 13, 2005 at age 93. Born in Bay City, Michigan May 14, 1911 to Arthur C. MacKinnon and Charlotte Hodgekins MacKinnon. She attended Bay City Central High School and Michigan State University, graduating Class of 1932. She married John H. (Jack) Zuber on January 15, 1938. He died in 1949. On October 2, 1953 she married Wilbur L. Daggett. He died in 1977. Charlotte was a social worker for eighteen years, working with Catholic Family Service and St. Vincent‚s Children‚s Home. A tradition of caring was passed on to her family. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and the Saginaw Country Club. She is survived by her daughter, Julia (Gary) Emede of Saginaw; her son, John (Linda) Zuber of Portland, Oregon; grandchildren, Dean Emede of Saginaw; Julia Ann Emede of San Jose, California; Geoffrey (Linda) Emede of Saginaw and Mark (Suzi) Zuber of Duvall, Washington; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A granddaughter, Julie Zuber-King predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her parents and two sisters, Jessie MacKinnon Swanson and Mary Kirk Woodford. A courageous, inspirational and vivacious spirit, she leaves behind many friends and bridge partners.
A Memorial Mass and committal service will take place at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 17, 2005 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 River Road in Saginaw. Rev. Father David Parsch will officiate. Inurnment will be at St. Andrew‚s Cemetery. Friends may call at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday and at the church from 9:00 until the time of Mass. Passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 4, 2007 at Covenant Health Care Harrison. Age 53 years. Chip was born on August 7, 1954 in Saginaw. He married Robin Wesson on November 21, 2002. She survives him. Chip was employed at Means Industries and was a UAW Committeeman and a board member of the Pulaski Club. Surviving besides his wife, Robin are his children, Heidi Lynne Massaro, Sarah Marie DeCaire, Carl DeCaire III; his mother, Barbara Ann DeCaire;
sister and brothers, Michele Engle, Wayne DeCaire, Scott DeCaire; step-children, William Joseph Bricault Jr. and Whitney Marissa Houston and two grandchildren, Paige Bricault and Jesse Houston. Chip was preceded in death by his daughter, Michele (Shelly) DeCaire.
Funeral - Chip’s Memorial Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at the Pulaski Club, 6525 Weiss. Following Chip’s wishes cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State).

Passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at the Chesaning Nursing Care Center after a three-year stay. Age 80 years. Katherine Holton was born June 25, 1924 to the late Clarence and Helen (Bauer) Holton. She was married to Raymond E. Demers Sr. on September 14, 1946 in Midland. He preceded her in death on August 30, 1991. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Katherine enjoyed crocheting and making embroidery quilts. She had been employed by Merritt Packing and Armour Meats. During WWII she worked at the Gun Plant in Saginaw.
Katherine is survived by her children: Helen (Michael) Marsden of St. Charles, Raymond E. (Kristine) Demers Jr. of Merrill, Richard (Martha Meyers) Demers of Merritt Island, Florida, and Ronald Demers and special friend Tracy Heinz of Freeland; four grandchildren, Michael (Shannon) Demers, Christopher Demers, Steven and Andrew Demers; a step-great-grandson Grant; three sisters Beverly Starry; Donna (Chuck) Starry and Dorothy Eff. Also surviving are sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Wayne (Alice) Siler, Lorretta, Shirley, Evelyn, Bernice Demers, and Kenny (Helen) Wolf, also a dear friend Mary Lou McRae. Katherine was preceded in death by a sister Florence; a brother Willard; brothers-in-law Gordon Eff, Ken Starry, Joseph, Jack, Bill, Clement and Frank (Eileen) Demers.
Mass of Christian burial will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2005 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 708 Sanderson St., St. Charles, Rev. Todd Arnberg will officiate with burial to follow in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. The family will pray the rosary at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Passed away Saturday, June 30, 2007 at her home surrounded by her family. Age 64 years. Patricia Shaw was born June 26, 1943 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Richard and Erma (Lowry) Shaw. Patricia truly loved and enjoyed raising her family and being proudly known as “Grammy”. Her life’s joy was being a mom and grandma and she had a passion for sewing and reading. Surviving are her daughters, Amy (Bradley) Sizelove, Sarah (Bill) Sloney, Lisa (Wes) Brown; grandchildren, Emma and Andrew Sizelove and Ruth and Eliot Brown; a sister, Pamela (Mickey) Baity and Patricia’s faithful dog, Maggie.
Following Patricia’s wishes cremation has taken place. Patricia’s family will gather for a private service.

Passed away October 26, 2007 in California; Age 70 years. Al was born October 4, 1937, in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Edward and Edna (Johnson) Donnenwerth. He was raised in Zilwaukee, graduating from Arthur Hill High School in 1955. Al worked for U.S. Graphite Company. In 1957 he married Janet Finlay, they later divorced. They moved to California where he resided the last 50 years. He married Joanne Evans in California. She predeceased him. Surviving are his daughters, Jodi Donnenwerth and Lisa Munoz; grandchildren, Megan and Alec Munoz; former wife, Janet, all from St. George, Utah; brother, Thomas Donnenwerth of Zilwaukee; and a brother-in-law, Donald Maxwell, Winnetka, CA. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Joanne; and sister, Ivaloe Maxwell. Following Al’s wishes cremation has taken place. Arrangements are entrusted to Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State).

Passed away Sunday, October 1, 2006 at her home. Age 88 years. Geneva Helen Perry was born August 21, 1918 in Caseville, Michigan to the late Burton & Hilpa (Krause) Perry. She married Clyde Douglas on October 9, 1937. He predeceased her on November 5, 1973. Geneva worked until the age of 72 for numerous places, retiring as the Assistant Manager in the Bell Telephone Co. cafeteria. She was a member of St. Charles Seniors. Geneva enjoyed going to the casino knitting and doing extensive embroidery work.
Surviving are one son and three daughters and their spouses; Jack (Jeanette) Douglas, of Saginaw, Sandra (Clyde) Bell, of Saginaw, Pat Douglas, of Burt, Penny (Robert) Harris, of Brant; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two great great grandchild; one sister Vivian (Joe) Trombley, Murphy, N.C. She was preceded in death by one brother, Wilbur Perry; one sister, Marge Grunow and one grandson, Joseph D. Carpenter. Following Geneva’s wishes cremation has taken place, and private family services will be held. Passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2006 at Hoyt Nursing and Rehab Centre. Doris E. Brothwell was born in Port Huron, Michigan to the late Claude and Agnes (Armstrong) Brothwell. She married Charles G. Dove on March 17, 1938 in Port Huron. They enjoyed 68 years of marriage together. Doris volunteered at Port Huron Hospital with the Red Cross for over 20 years. She attended Zion Lutheran Church in Bay City. Doris loved to play bridge with her friends. Surviving besides her husband, Charles are two daughters, Joy Roehl, Albuquerque, New Mexico; Janice (George) Weisenbach, Saginaw; five grandchildren, Denise (Steven) McKee, Douglas (Kim) Roehl, Janel (Terry) Pittman, Justin Weisenbach, Jamie Weisenbach; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Lewis (Marylee) Brothwell and many nieces and nephews. Doris was preceded in death by two sisters, Wilda Abernethy and Ruth Burch.Following Doris’ wishes, cremation has taken place.
Service - A Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at The Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter (off State). Pastor John W. Wernecke will officiate.
