Passed away Thursday, December 18, 2003. Age 60 years. Tom was born April 28, 1943 in Saginaw to the late Louis L. and Anna B.H. (Giese) Groening. He was employed at Nuechterlein’s Jewelry in Frankenmuth as Manager in watch and clock service, and was well known as a restorer of antique clocks. Tom was one of the originators in the servicing of the Court House Tower Clock. He also was a model airplane enthusiast and was a member of the Flying Aces, based out of Geneseo, NY. Surviving are two brothers and one sister, Robert L. Groening, Saginaw; Marjorie A. Beecher, Saginaw; James A. (Evelyn) Groening, Milford, MI; nine nieces and nephews, also several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2003 at Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc. 1218 N. Michigan Ave. The Rev. Timothy J. Loewe will officiate with burial in Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., then on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2007 at McAuley Care Center in Muskegon, age 90 years. Joseph C. Hagerty was born on August 1, 1917 in Auburn, Michigan to the late Wallace and Maude (Ansel) Hagerty. He was married to Jean Marie McNalley on July 7, 1951 in Saginaw. She survives him. Joseph had been employed by Blue Arrow Douglas and Dow Trucking Company for 40 years, until his retirement in 1979. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp. during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 439 Joseph loved spending time with his family, he loved to travel, fish and remodel homes. Surviving his four children and their spouses; William (Linda) Hagerty of St. Charles, MI, Lora Lee (Frank) Dupuis of Saginaw, MI, Cindy (Tom) Ellis of Muskegon, MI and Joseph (Cindy) Hagerty of Brighton, MI. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a sister Betty (Bud) Gorski of Zilwaukee. Joseph was preceded in death by nine brothers and two sisters.
Funeral - Joseph’s Funeral Service will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, November 5, 2007 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Ronald J. Dombrowski will officiate. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Military Honors conducted under the auspices of American Legion Post # 439.
VISITIATION- Friends may call at the Deisler Funeral Home on Sunday, November 4, 2007 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service.

Beloved wife and mother passed away peacefully Saturday, December 1, 2007 at Hoyt Nursing and Rehab Centre, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Age 80 years. Natalie J. Strachan was born on April 6, 1927 in Saginaw to the late Russell and Marion Strachan. Natalie was married to M.C. Hamather on February 10, 1947 in Saginaw, Michigan. He survives her. Natalie was a fabulous homemaker and seamstress. She also enjoyed quilting, bowling and going to the casino.
She was a member of the American Contract Bridge league, Arapahoe County Quilters and the Eastern Star. Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Mac, her children, Mary (Robert) Lefevre of Saginaw, MI; David (Denise) Hamather of Spring Lake, MI and Peter (Karen) Hamather of Moore, OK; her grandchildren, Brian, Jon, Katriese, and Aimee. Also surviving are her great-grandsons, Cole, Caleb, and Alan. Following Natalie’s wishes a cremation has taken place. Natalie’s family would like to extend a special thanks to the caring staff of Hoyt Nursing and Rehab Centre for their loving care and support.

Harden, Robert James

Passed away Friday March 11, 2005 at his home. Age 83 years.
Robert James Harden was born to the late Robert M.and Louise (Grace) Harden on March 4, 1922 in Perrinton, Michigan. He was married to Mary Tuhy on September 21, 1946 in Saginaw at St. Mary Cathedral. She survives him.
He graduated from Saint Mary Cathedral High School in 1941. Robert enlisted and served in the United States Marine Corps for three years from 1942 to 1945, in the South Pacific. He attended General Motors Institute and was employed by Chevrolet Motors Division of GM for 36 years.
Surviving besides his wife Mary, are four sons and three daughters and their spouses; R. James (Paula) Harden of Lowell, MI, Margaret Rodriguerz of Belleville, MI, Hannah (Peter) O’Toole of Saginaw, Martin Tuhy (Lori) Harden of Novi, MI,
Betsy (James) Wilber of Elmhurst IL., Paul (Jennifer) Harden of Roseville, MN, and Dennis (Mary) Harden of Westerville, Ohio. Nineteen grandchildren. Two sisters; Patrice (Edward) Deisler of Saginaw, and Ann (Donald) Berlin of Kentwood, MI.
Four brothers; William R. (Mary Lou) Harden of Saginaw, Francis John (Nancy) Harden of Saginaw, Charles Michael (Carla) Harden of Barnstable, Mass., Thomas (Barbara) Harden of Washington, MI. One sister-in-law Janet Harden of Saginaw and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael; son-in-law Evaristo Rodriguez; sister Jean Dooley and brother Patrick Harden.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 am Tuesday March 15, 2005 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St. Fr. Leonard Stunek OFM will officiate with Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with military burial under the auspices of American Legion Post #439. Gerald Gilbert Hausbeck, beloved husband, brother and uncle passed away Saturday, November 27, 2004 at the Frankenmuth Lutheran Home. The son of the late Charles and Rose (Altscheffel) Hausbeck, Gerald was born August 8,1917 in Saginaw. He married Virginia Bernadene Sommers on October 20, 1956 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Gerald was part owner with his brothers of the Hausbeck Pickle Co. retiring in 1995. He enjoyed his years of working as well as traveling and being with his family.
Surviving are his wife, Bernadene and brothers, Richard and his wife Kay and John W. all of Saginaw; eighteen nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Gerald was predeceased by sisters, Bernice and Joyce and one infant sister; brothers, Charles P., Ferdinand and two infant brothers, sisters-in-law, Betty, Vera, Marilyn, and one special niece Jane Anne Hausbeck.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 2, 2004 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 3680 S. Washington Rd. Saginaw, Mich. Rev. Maynard passed away suddenly while hunting with his sons Monday morning, November 15, 2004. Age 66 years. Maynard was born September 23, 1938 in Saginaw to the late Maynard G. and Viola (Weaver) Heft. He married JoAnne P. Fessler on October 17, 1958 in Saginaw, where she survives him. Maynard enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1955 and was honorably discharged in 1961 and was a life member of the VFW. Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 27.3 years with General Motors at Grey Iron Foundry. Maynard enjoyed hunting, fishing, and loved being an outdoorsman. Surviving besides his wife, JoAnne are their eight children, Melody C. (Phillip) Faquaer, Greenfield, IN; Lester S. Heft, Saginaw; Leonard J. Heft, Saginaw; Maynard G. (Melissa Bone) Heft, Oscoda; Tammy A. (Jeff) Allen, Carrollton; Angela A. (Greg) Howard, Owosso; Edward E. (Ashlee Kinville) Heft, Saginaw; Saline M. Heft, Saginaw; 17 grandchildren, one great-grandson, two sisters and four brothers; also many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister and one brother.
Funeral services will take place 1:00 pm Thursday, November 18, 2004 at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave. Rev. Edward Pankow will officiate. Entombment will follow a military honor guard under the auspices of American Legion Post #439 at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother passed away Saturday, November 13, 2004 at Covenant Emergency Care Center. Age 75 years. Cleon was born May 8, 1929 in Saginaw to the late William and Mabel (Dashner) Hopper. He was married to Margaret H. Dupuis on June 26, 1948 in Carrollton, where she predeceased him on February 18, 2002. Prior to his retirement in 1975, he was employed for 28 years at GM Grey Iron Foundry and was a Police Officer in Carrollton for 13 years. Surviving are two daughters and their spouses, Bonnie and Roger Blanton, Carrollton; Sally and Bert Schmidt, Bridgeport. Cleon also leaves his beloved granddaughters, Amy Blanton and Talifaro Reynolds; Pamela and Loren Fischer; Shannon and David Odette; Karri Schmidt and John Murlick; great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Blanton, Lauren and Logan Fischer. He also leaves one brother and two sisters, William and Rose Hopper, Saginaw; Beverly Dupuis, Saginaw; Phyllis and William Eaton, St. Charles; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Robert Hopper, a daughter, Judith Hopper, and a brother, Gerald Hopper.
