Loving mother and grandmother passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at the James E. Cartwright Care Center. Age 70 years. Shirley was born April 4, 1933 in Saginaw to the late Earl and Lydia (Paulie) Cherry. She was graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1951 and was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church. Surviving are her five children and their spouses, Ira (Sally) Luplow; Steven (Wendy) Luplow; Claudette (Jack) Losee; Kathleen (Dean) Prappas; Lisa Luplow; eight grandchildren, Adam, Kellie and Todd Losee, Steven and David Luplow, Kristen, Alexandra and Brendan Prappas; three sisters, Beverly (Jim) Mathias, Sally (Don) Couer, Patricia Scott; many nieces and nephews; and her aunt, Marie Goodrow.
Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 12, 2004 at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave. Rev. Fr. Donald Christensen will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother was called to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 21, 2004 at HealthSource Saginaw. Age 89 years. Alma Hassold was born December 22, 1914 in Conklin, Mich. to the late John and Lesettie (Reister) Hassold. She married Fred F. Miller on December 5, 1936 in Saginaw. He survives her. Since 1937, Alma was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She had sung in the choir and attended the Golden Agers and Dorcas Society. Surviving besides her husband, Fred, are two daughters, Jean Ann (William) Burns III, Saginaw; Virginia Lee Canavan, FL; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Esther (John) Giss, Detroit; one brother, Erwin (Donna) Hassold, Ravenna, Mich.; several nieces, nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by six brothers and sisters and her son-in-law, William Canavan.
Funeral service will take place 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 24, 2004 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 3829 Lamson. The Rev. Timothy J. Loewe will officiate with entombment in Oakwood Mausoleum. L. Gary Mosier went home to be with Jesus on April 9, 2006 from his residence. Age 58 years. Gary was born on January 31, 1948 in Bloomington, Ind., the son of Lloyd G. and Margaret L. (McGlocklin) Mosier of Plainfield, Ind. Gary was an operations and training coordinator with the Transportation Security at Yeager Airport, Charleston, WV and a former Air Traffic Controller at MBS International Airport. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Charleston, WV and served his country during the Vietnam Era with the U.S. Air Force. Surviving are his wife, Sandra (Thiede) Mosier, Scott Depot, WV; his son, John Mosier, Sun Prairie, Wisc.; his daughter, Sherri Mosier, Bloomington, Ind.; his sister, Ginger Mosier, New Hope, Penn.; his granddaughter, Jasmine Mosier, Sun Prairie, Wisc.
Committal service will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2006 at Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery on Brockway Road where Honor Guard services will be conducted under the auspices of the VFW 1859, Carrollton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Redeemer Lutheran Church, #1 Deerwalk Lane, Charleston, WV 25314. Passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2004. Age 77 years. Elisabeth Faber was born February 11, 1927 in Germany to the late Gustav and Auguste (Jeglinski) Faber. She was married to Frank M. Nowak on November 8, 1947. He survives her. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at Arrow Paper Products. She was a member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church. Surviving besides her husband, Frank, are two daughters and their spouses, Helga (Graham) Irish, St. Charles; Rosie (Thomas) Trahan, Saginaw; seven grandchildren, Aaron (Jennifer) Schafer; Trever (Debbie) Irish; Shawn (Stephanie) Irish; Megan Thomas (fiancé William Miner); Melissa, Kristina and Jennifer Trahan; four great-grandchildren, Thomas, Aidan, Matthew and Benjamin; one sister, Erna (Werner) Klare, Germany; many nieces, nephews and cousins in the U.S. and Germany; and Sonny, her kitty.

Passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at Cartwright Hospice Residence. Age 54 years. JoEllen McDougall was born on July 20, 1953 in Saginaw to Jack and Constance (Naples) McDougall. She married John Olmsted on April 25, 1992 in Midland, Michigan at Trinity Lutheran Church. He survives her. JoEllen’s hobbies included bingo, the casino, and talking with her family and friends. She worshipped at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Surviving besides her husband, John are a son Thomas (Tina) Pollick; grandchildren, Caitlin and Thomas Pollick III, Danville, Kentucky; her mother, Constance McDougall; three sisters, Jacklyn (Ron) Krzyzaniak, Standish; Judy Sova; Janet (Tom) Taylor, all of Saginaw; also surviving are her in-laws, Bob (Jeanine) Olmsted, Midland; Bill (Pat) Olmsted, Behrain; Barb (Eric) McPeak, Midland. JoEllen was preceded in death by her father, Jack McDougall; brother-in-law, Marvin Sova and her in-laws, Sherman and Bette Olmsted.
Funeral - Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 22, 2007 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 6400 McCarty Road. Rev. Loren M. Kalinowski will officiate. JoEllen will lie in state at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral Mass. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Visitation - Friends may call at The Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter (off State) on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Loving husband, father and grandfather passed away Sunday morning, March 14, 2004 at his home. Age 85 years. William was born on January 11, 1919 in Buena Vista Township to the late Philip and Matilda (Firchau) Ott who resided in Gera. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Frankenmuth and he attended Buena Vista schools. He was drafted into the Army in March 1941 and served in the Army Medical Corps stationed with the 43rd Evacuation Hospital in Virginia and the 22nd Station Hospital in Louisiana where he attended Army Medical School. During WWII he was sent to the Pacific and served as Sgt. Medical Technician. He married Renata Sonntag on October 11, 1941 at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, Frankenmuth. She survives him. William was an employee of General Motors Corp. in Flint until his retirement in 1976. He was an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Flint for 47 years, serving as Elder, Sunday School teacher, the Evangelism Committee and the Lutheran Laymen’s League. He was a member of the American Legion Post 150 and the V.F.W. Post 7542. William and Renata moved to Saginaw in 1998 where they became members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Surviving besides his wife, Renata are their four children and spouses, Rev. Timothy (Lois) Ott, Ispheming, Mich.; Kathleen (Jerry) Eisman, Midland; Christine (Ken) Gremel, Sagianw; Stephen (Donna) Ott, Freeland. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; one brother and two sisters, Carl (Lillian) Ott, Bay City; Rosella Schutte, Turner, Mich.; and Martha Maser, Ind. He was predeceased by four brothers and two sisters, Adolf, Philip, Gottlieb, and Julius Ott; Frieda Gies and Emma Hardy.
Funeral service will take place Thursday, March 18, 2004 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 5335 Brockway. The Rev. Mark P. Buckert will officiate. Burial will follow later at Flint Memorial Park. Renata was called home to her Lord on Saturday, July 3, 2004 at Luther Manor. Age 93 years. Renata Schluckebier was born October 23, 1910 in Frankenmuth to the late George and Augusta (Schmandt) Schluckebier. She was first married to Walter Mueller on August 11, 1929 and he predeceased her on July 24, 1980. She was then married to Henry Otto, Sr. on May 14, 1981 and he predeceased her on June 1, 1991. Renata was a charter member of Redeemer Lutheran Church before becoming a member at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Surviving are her daughter, Ruth Hahn and her fiancee, Clarence Kennedy of Midland; her grandchildren, Kathy Hahn of Bay City and Tammy Anaman of Akron; her great-grandchildren, Amanda and Kyle Hahn and Alex Anaman; one sister, Meta Daenzer of Frankenmuth; step-children, Henry (Joan) Otto, Jr. of Saginaw, Norma Jean Fleschner of Saginaw, Carol Hoeppner of Saginaw, Joan Storm of Unionville; step-daughters-in-law, Jean Otto of Frankenmuth, and Carolyn Otto of Saginaw; 15 step-grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews; one sister-in-law, Arletha Kishnick of Frankenmuth. She was predeceased by three brothers, two sisters, two brothers-in-law and two step-sons.
