Anita was called home to her Lord on Monday, July 26, 2004. Age 71 years. Anita Ruth Kaminsky was born May 17, 1933 in South Milwaukee, Wisc. to the late Robert and Martha (Ruehmer) Kaminsky. She was married to Richard D. Purdue on Sept.19, 1953 in Milwaukee, Wisc. He predeceased her on Oct. 25, 1983. Anita had been an active member at St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a sales clerk at Sears for several years. Surviving are her two sons, Rev. Guy (Deborah) Purdue, Westland, Mich.; and Matthew (Heidi) Purdue, White Plains, N.Y.; her granddaughter, Rachel Purdue; her sister, Elizabeth Usher, Santa Monica, Calif.; and her niece, Patricia Usher, Santa Clarita, Calif. Anita was predeceased by her parents, husband, and her sister, Edith Krist.
The Celebration of Anita’s life will be held 4:00 p.m. Friday, July 30, 2004 at St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 6185 Hospital Rd., Freeland. The Rev. Daniel P. Garbow will officiate with burial in St. Matthew’s Lutheran Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Passed away Monday, September 13, 2004 at Luther Manor. Age 87 years. Clara Kunitzer was born February 27, 1917 in Saginaw Co. to the late Adolph and Ida (Schoenheit) Kunitzer. She was married to Gottfried (Gotty) Reisig, Jr., on June 24, 1950. He predeceased her on March 25, 1996. Clara was employed by A.A.L. for 45 years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, was a volunteer at the St. Luke’s Hospital Guild and Gift Shop for 25 years, a member of the National Secretary Assoc., and enjoyed bowling, golfing, traveling and square dancing. Surviving is one son and his wife, Ronald (Joann) Reisig, Frankenmuth; two grandchildren, Jeremy and Brian Reisig, Frankenmuth; three brothers, Harold Kunitzer, Saginaw; Ernie (Alvina) Kunitzer, Saginaw; Arthur (Marion) Kunitzer, Evart, Mich.; also her sister-in-law, Vera Kunitzer, Sagianw; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Walter, Paul and Edward Kunitzer, and three sisters, Selma Kunitzer, Martha Kunitzer and Florence Steinbauer.
Funeral and committal services will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 16, 2004 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 808 Weiss. The Rev. Michael R. Korte will officiate. Passed away Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25, 2003 at Saint Mary’s hospital. Age 80 years. Earl was born April 25, 1923 in Saginaw to the late Paul and Henrietta (Scherzer) Riebschleger. He married Mary R. Koinis on February 19, 1949 in Saginaw where she survives him. Earl had served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp during WWII in the Pacific Theatre, receiving his honorable discharge in 1946. Earl returned to Saginaw and continued his employment as a telephone repairman at Michigan Bell, retiring in 1981 after 41 years of service. Earl was a charter member of St. Stephen Catholic Church. He owned and operated the existing family business known as Rip's Popcorn. Surviving are four sons, Richard (Sandra) Riebschleger, Saginaw; David (Joanne) Riebschleger, Houghton Lake; Peter Riebschleger, Saginaw; Ronald (Tracie) Riebschleger, Rockford; eleven grandchildren, Rick, Mike, Amy, David, Laura, Hannah, Addah, Joseph, Zakary, Brett, and Delanie; six great-grandchildren, Emily, Matthew, Kennedy, Krina, Rebecca and Allison. Earl was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Jane Behringer.
Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2003 at St. Stephen Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Robert Davey will officiate with entombment to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Military honor guard will be conducted under the auspices of American Legion Post #439. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Percy Alvinza Robinson, 83 of Bridgeport, died December 21, 2003. Mr. Robinson was born September 7, 1920 in Tuscola Co. to Alvinza Robinson and Edna Bosley. He was married to Betty Nixon for 57 years. He was a farmer and avid hunter all of his life. Survivors include his loving companion, Sue Moreno; his children, Herbert, Caroline, Clem, Gloria, Ernie, Steve, and Tom; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Gill and Katherine Dean; three brothers, Theodore, Francis, and Theron Robinson. He was proceeded in death by two sons, Albert and Eugene Robinson; two sisters and two brothers, Mamie Saffren, Shirley Watson, Sherwood and Alvinza Robinson.
Committal service will take place 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 24, 2003 at St. Johns Cemetery, Howell, MI. Erna was called home to her Lord on Friday, March 5, 2004 from Covenant Medical Center-Harrison. Age 88 years. Erna Agnes Martha Retzlaff was born January 8, 1916 in Milwaukee, Wisc. to the late William and Anna (Schneider) Retzlaff. She was married to The Rev. Walter T. Rossnagel on April 6, 1940 in Milwaukee, Wisc. He predeceased her on June 26, 1989. Erna was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Surviving are two daughters, one son and their spouses, Leanne and George Frank, Saginaw; Jeanine and Donald Bugg, Granville, OH; Theodore Rossnagel, New Haven, MO; six grandchildren, Anne (William) Ebel, Jon Frank, Mary (Trevor) Parks, Christine (Andy) Zielinski, Melanie (Tony) Torres, and Valerie (John) Mauk; four great-grandchildren, William, Jeanette, Hannah Ebel, and Sydney Torres. She was predeceased by one sister and one brother, Viola Lambie and Harold Retzlaff.

Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister was called home to her Lord on Thursday, June 24, 2004. Age 87 years. Rosalie Helwer Rummel was born July 31, 1916 in Saginaw to the late Gottfried and Anna (Meyer) Helwer. She was married to Herbert Louis Rummel on December 19, 1936 in Flint. He predeceased her on May 27, 2001. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. She was a star athlete in Junior High at South School and as an adult won numerous trophies and championships as a bowler. She grew roses at her home winning several blue ribbons. Surviving are her two children, Patricia Bauer, Appleton, Wisc.; Randall Rummel, Saginaw; three grandchildren, Sherie (Craig) Masters, Columbus, OH.; Jill (Tom) Pollack, Oshkosh, Wisc.; Steve (Karla) Bauer, Appelton, Wisc.; three great-grandchildren, Abraham, Ryan and Sydney; one brother, Edwin (Dorothy) Helwer, Saginaw; and one sister-in-law, Florence Helwer. She was predeceased by one sister, Hilda Hanson, and two brothers, Gottfried Helwer, Jr., and Harold Helwer.

Dorothy was born on November 1, 1936 in Hemlock to the late Edward and Esther (Schoof) Hoeppner. She was married to Jack (John) Ruppel on January 28, 1956. He predeceased her on May 11, 2005. Dorothy was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. Surviving are her three children and their spouses, Randy (Tammy) Ruppel, Champion, Mich.; John (Cyndi) Ruppel, Ishpeming, Mich.; Rick (Julie) Ruppel, Auburn, Mich.; four grandchildren, Nicholas Ruppel, Marquette, Mich.; David Ruppel, serving in the US Army, stationed in Afghanistan; Jason Ruppel, Corpus Christi, TX; Erin Ruppel, Freeland, Mich.; three step-grandchildren, Ricky, Chris, Breanne Goff, Saginaw, Mich.; two brothers, Roy (Norma) Hoeppner, Saginaw, Mich.; Wilbert (Kathleen) Hoeppner, Saginaw, Mich.; two sisters-in-law, Leona Hoeppner, Saginaw, Mich.; Carol Hoeppner, Saginaw, Mich.; also many nieces and nephews. The memorial service celebrating Dorothy’s life will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 27, 2006 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 2565 Miller Road. Pastor Ed Meyer will officiate.
