Funeral service will take place 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, 1999, at the W.L. Case & Co. Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Highway. Burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the chapel, 5700 Dixie Hwy., from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Birch Run, Michigan.
Passed away Monday, February 1, 1999. Age 62 years. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Arrangements by the Krauss-Torhan Funeral Home, Birch Run.

Reinig, Richard "Ricky",
Birch Run, Michigan.
Passed away Sunday, January 31, 1999, at his home. Age 23 years. Ricky was born June 2, 1975 in Saginaw, Mich. He was employed by Geiersbach Construction of Freeland, Mich. Ricky enjoyed sports, especially snowmobiling, horseshoes, bowling and was an avid deer hunter. Surviving are his parents, Richard (Jeannie) Reinig; one sister and two brothers, Amanda, Brent and Sean Reinig; one nephew, Anthony; special friend, Melissa Metevia; special cousin, Jody Musselman; two grandmothers, Regina Reinig and Rosemary Pataky; step-grandfather, Dick Pataky; great-grandmother, Louise Peckman; numerous relatives and friends. Two grandfathers predeceased him. Funeral service will take place 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the Krauss- Torhan Funeral Home in Birch Run. Burial will be in Birch Run Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m.
Funeral service will take place 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the Krauss- Torhan Funeral Home in Birch Run. Burial will be in Birch Run Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m.

Schwannecke, The Rev. Frances Fay Starr,
Saginaw Township.
Passed away Monday, Feb. 1, 1999 at Saint Mary's hospital. Age 88 years. Frances Fay Starr was born October 19, 1910 in Saginaw, the daughter of the late Sybil L. (Jacobs) and Robert L. Starr. She married Edward A. Schwannecke June 28, 1930; he predeceased her June 26, 1963. With her husband, she originated Ed's Rental Service here in April of 1950 and worked there until January of 1973, when she retired from the business and sold it to her son Thomas R. Schwannecke. She was the first woman ordained to the Diaconate in the Episcopal Diocese of Michigan on April 7, 1973, then ordained to the Priesthood on June 18, 1978. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Saginaw and had served as assistant there since 1973. Her ministry consisted largely of working with and serving the elderly of all Saginaw area Episcopal churches. She founded the Second Wind Club at St. John's in 1972. She had been active in Saginaw throughout her life in many areas of service including PTA, Boy Scouts, a member and past-President of the Junior Board of Commerce and serving on the Board of Directors of the Saginaw Horse Society. She was a member of the first Board of Directors of the Saginaw County Commission on Aging. She served as Dean of the Saginaw Valley Convocation for four years from 1980 until 1984. She was former Board member and past-Chair of the Robert Whitaker Episcopal School of Theology in Detroit and served as a Board member of Special Ministries. She currently was serving as a Board member of Westchester Village, Inc., which in 1983 named its community building Schwannecke Hall in her honor. She was a member of the Board of Directors of Saginaw Habitat for Humanity. Surviving are three sons and their spouses, Thomas R. and Janet Schwannecke, Saginaw; Edward H. and Joyce Schwannecke, Lansing, Mich.; James P. Schwannecke, Saginaw; six grand_ children, Leslie Frances, Edward III, John Edward, Cynthia Fay, Thomas Richard Jr. and Pamela Ann; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Norman Boettcher, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; several nieces and nephews. The Service of Holy Communion will take place 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 3, 1999 at St. John's Episcopal Church, 123 N. Michigan at Hancock. The Right Rev. Edwin M. Leidel Jr., Bishop of Eastern Michigan, will officiate with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the W.L. Case & Co. Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider St. John's Episcopal Church, the Whitaker Episcopal School of Theology for the Edward A. Schwannecke Scholarship Fund or Westchester Village.

Zacharias, Cyril P.,
Saginaw, Michigan.
Passed away at his home on Friday, January 29, 1999. Age 82 years. Cyril P. Zacharias was born in Saginaw on June 23, 1916, to the late Stephen F. and Adolphine F. (Jozwiak) Zacharias. He was a lifetime resident of the Saginaw area. He served in the U.S. Army Calvary on the Mexican Border during World War II. He was awarded the Purple Heart and E.T.O. Ribbon with three battle stars. Cyril was a self- employed real estate agent and came from a family involved in real estate. He will be remembered for his sharp wit, jokes and quick humor. He leaves to cherish his memory one sister-in-law, Jane Zacharias; three nieces, Tamyra DeGroat, Pamela Schilling, Gay Adolphine Reigle and their families; also a dear friend, Emma Walsh and her family, Dennis and Nancy, Don and Jean, Barb and Jim and Gsry and Gisela. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jerald. According to Cyril's wishes he has been cremated. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 1999, at Oakwood Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, new addition, 5950 Gratiot, Saginaw. Rev. Leo Lynch will officiate with inurnment in Oakwood Mausoleum. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Oakwood Memorial Mausoleum, 5950 Gratiot. Those who so desire may make memorials to The American Cancer Society or VNA Hospice. Arrangements by Hill Funeral Home (Formerly Peace Rose).

McCallum, Elizabeth W.,
Freeland, Michigan.
Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at her home on Monday, February 1, 1999. Age 81 years. Elizabeth Wilma Stevens was born January 18, 1918 to William and Lucy (Wright) Stevens. She married Vern N. McCallum on December 18, 1935. They shared a long happy life together. He predeceased her on October 4, 1995. Surviving are one daughter and two sons, Mrs. Gail A. (Ronald) Duby, Richard L. (Joanne) McCallum, Douglas J. (DeEtta) McCallum, all of Saginaw; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was predeceased by a grandson Douglas McCallum Jr. in 1981, her sister Eloise Plants, and her brother Lyle J. Stevens. Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 4, 1999 at the The Reitz-Herzberg Funeral Home on Midland Rd. Pastor Jim Rule will officiate with intermenty to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are welcome to call on the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday one hour before the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be given to the National Kidney Foundation, or the United Methodist Church of Freeland.

Gulbis, Peteris,
Saginaw, Michigan.
Passed away Saturday, January 30, 1999, at his home after a brief illness. Age 84 years. Peteris Gulbis was born September 5, 1914, in Skujienes Pagasta, Muileni, Latvia, the only son of the late John and Anna Gulbis. He fled to Germany in 1944, after the war he moved to America in 1950. He married Erna Miluns, July 6, 1953, in Michigan, she survives him. He worked for Pumford Construction retiring in 1979. He was a member of the Latvian Ev. Lutheran Church. He is grieved by his wife Erna Gulbis, Saginaw; a step- daughter, Maruta Miluns, New Hampshire; a cousin, Ilga Balodis, Latvia. Funeral services will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday February 5, 1999, at the W.L. Case & Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Rev. Edgar Petrevics will officiate with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.
