Our beloved sister, niece, aunt, and cousin passed away Wednesday, February 3, 1999 at Covenant Medical Center-Harrison. Age 47 years. Mary was born September 5, 1951 in Huntsville, Alabama to the late Mr. Booker T. and Mrs. Mary Porter Sr. She leaves to cherish her memories one sister, Shirley Porter, one brother, Booker T. Porter Jr., both of Saginaw; one niece, Alisha Porter, three nephews, Marvin (Donna) Porter of Saginaw; Aaron Porter and Darius Porter, both of Lima, Ohio; five great-nephews, five great-nieces, all of Saginaw; two uncles, David (Penny) Vaughn, Michael (Lori) Vaughn, both of Saginaw; four aunts, Ruby Vaughn and Kathreen Ware, both of Saginaw; Dorothy Curry of Compton, Calif.; Alice Clemons of Las Vegas; many other great-aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, including three very special friends, Willie Archibald, Vivian Feagin and Wadsworth Pinnix of Saginaw. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Booker T. Porter; her grandmother, Cora Roach; a great-grandmother, one aunt, three cousins and two very special friends, James Mays and Joe Roy Ferguson. Funeral service will take place 1:00 p.m., Thursday February 11, 1999 in the chapel of the Browne's Mortuary, 441 N. Jefferson Avenue. Reverend E.W. Bothuel will officiate with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family would like to thank the 8th floor staff of Covenant Medical Center- Harrison for taking care of our loved one.

Passed away Thursday, February 4, 1999 in Ann Arbor after a brief illness. Age 73 years. He was born November 2, 1925, in Saginaw. Les was graduated from Arthur Hill High School and attended the University of Michigan. He married Joanne Dierich on January 23, 1948. She survives him. Les began working for L.A. Ward Real Estate at the age of 16 and became owner/broker upon his father's death in 1963. He was a member of the Saginaw Country Club and the Y.M.C.A., and a past member of several golf and racket clubs. He had been an avid hunter and fisherman. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, with action in the Battle of the Bulge. Les enjoyed golf, tennis, skiing, swimming, sailing, world wide travel and playing games with family and friends. Surviving besides his wife are one son Robert, a daughter Jane (Jerry) Sundberg; three grandchildren, Andrew and Amy Sundberg and Talon Ward; a sister Kathryn (Bert) Montiegel and a brother-in-law Robert Dierich. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 9, 1999, at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Debra Ferguson will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until time of Service. In lieu of flowers memorials to: Invest in Youth Campaign (Y.M.C.A. Camp), or the charity of their choice.

Age 10 years. Died Friday, January 29, 1999, at DeVos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids. Surviving are his parents, Thomas and Candis Beckwith; brothers, Eric and Alex Beckwith; sisters, Christie and Marcie Beckwith and Daphnie (Joseph) Malzo; grandparents, Donald (Niki) Beckwith, Edward and JoAnn Denome; great-grandmother, Mrs. Albert Bailey; aunts and uncles, Cynthia (Ross) Thompson, Donald (Karen) Beckwith, Robert (Linda) Beckwith; Jeffery (Dawn) Denome and Julie (Eugene) Solgat; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service took place Tuesday at St. Jude Catholic Church, Grand Rapids. Interment was in St. Patrick Cemetery, Grand Rapids. Our beloved mother, sister and grandmother went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 6, 1999, at Saint Mary's hospital. Age 63 years. She was born March 22, 1935 in Aberdeen, Miss., daughter of the late Quedell and Margaret Braylock. Mrs. Woods was a member of Coleman Temple C.O.G.I.C. and served on the Senior Usher Board since the early 70's. Surviving are three sons, Pete Jr. (Bernetta), Sherman (Rita) and Richard Woods; three daughters, Annie Curry, Vera Cannon and Margaret Parks; 19 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; seven sisters, Lillie Thomas, Georgianna (Jimmie Lee) Straughter, Margaret Blevines, Manning Braylock, Essiedeen Daniels, Earnestine Howard and Essiemae (Warren) Stockling; two brothers, Quedel (Earnestine) Braylock and Ben Braylock; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; three special friends, Sis. Lillie Williams, Ollie Mae Dawkins and Stella Lewis. Annie was predeceased by her husband Peter Woods Sr., one brother, James Henry Braylock, and two grandsons, Richard Blunt and James Woods. Passed away Sunday, February 7, 1999, at Luther Manor. Age 79 years. Vivian Graham was born October 11, 1919 to the late Frederick and Lillian (Heidger) Graham. She was married to Elmer on August 1, 1942. He survives her. She was a former member of Washington Ave. Presbyterian Church, a member of Countryside Trinity Church. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling and loved her grandchildren. Surviving besides her husband of 56 years are three daughters, Sharlene and Terry Beechler, Saginaw; Michelle Sharp, California; Lori and Mark Clements, Saginaw; seven grandchildren, Stacie, Shari, Tiffany Beechler, Ian and Ryan Sharp, Aaron and Kimberly Clements; one great-grandchild, Shantal Sharp; one sister, Lucille Ross, Lansing; many nieces and nephews.
