Emma Filipiak, 88, died February 8, 1999, at Martin Luther Home in Saginaw. Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 13, 1999 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Hemlock. Survivors are Marvin and Arlowa Himm of Linden; Carl and Betty Himm of St. Charles and Elsie Amos of Riverview, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. A daughter, Judy, passed away January 1, 1995. Memorials may be given to St. John's Lutheran Church or to the church or your choice.

Passed away Tuesday, February 9, 1999, at her son's home in South Lyon, Mich. Age 72 years. Barbara White was born June 23, 1926. She was married to Thomas Hall on December 19, 1975. He passed away June 2, 1987. She was a member of Taymouth Presbyterian Church. Surviving is one son, Kenneth (Frances) Davidson of South Lyon; two grandchildren, Diana and Lawrence (Sandra) Davidson; one great-grandchild, Anthony John Davidson; one brother, Dr. Donal White (Sally) of San Diego, Cal. Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday at Taymouth Presbyterian Church. Rev. Ted McCulloch will officiate with burial in Birch Run Cemetery. Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother died at her home after an eight year battle with cancer. Age 72 years. She was born August 12, 1926 in Saginaw, daughter of the late Elmer G. and Renata M. (Schaefer) Schartow. Her family moved to Midland in 1936 and Katherine graduated from the Midland High School in 1944. She attended Keystone College in Scranton, Pa. She married Richard L. Morris on September 17, 1948 in Midland. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, served as treasurer of Big Sisters, spent many happy years as secretary at Junior Achievement-Midland and as a volunteer after retirement. Surviving besides her husband Richard of 50 years, are her two daughters, Christine A. Morris of Reese; Susan Essner and her husband Dale of Auburn; granddaughter, Jennifer R. Donze and her husband Mark of Fairgrove; two great-granddaughters, Amber Rose and Emily Jean Donze, also of Fairgrove; three brothers, Charles and Charlotte Schartow of Tampa, Fla.; Elmer and Betty Schartow of Midland; William and Violet Schartow of St. Louis, Mo.; one sister, Doris and Harvey Patterson of Lancaster, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. Katherine was predeceased by a great-grandson, Eric Donze. Funeral and committal services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 11, 1999 from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Chapel, 1200 West Wheeler Street, Midland. Burial will take place in Midland Cemetery. Mrs. Morris' family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Passed away at her niece's home in Grand Ledge, Tuesday, February 9, 1999. Age 93 years. Marguerite was born May 4, 1905 in St. Charles to Fred and Edna (Parker) Lytle. She was employed as an executive secretary at Lansing Board of Water and Light for 38 years. She was a member of the Plymouth Congregational Church in Lansing, Lansing Safety Council, the Women's Republican Committee and the Rebekah Lodge Gleaner #74. Marguerite served in the U.S. Marine Corp during World War II. Surviving are one niece and two nephews, Marilyn and Gil Jessen of Grand Ledge; Robert L. and Donna Bowden, Frederick J. and Mary Ann Bowden, all of Saginaw; a sister- in-law, Marie Lytle of South Branch. She was predeceased by a brother, Llwelyn Lytle and a sister, Elaine M. Bowden. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 1999 at the Kendall Funeral Home, St. Charles. Rev. Patrick Shelley will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery, St. Charles. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday starting at 1:00 p.m. until time of service. He was born June 12, 1912 in Sharonville, Ohio, and was employed as a geologist with Union Oil Company for 37 years. Surviving are his wife Jeanette (Jones) Sanger of Saginaw; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gerald Sanger of Harrison and Fred and Sue Sanger of San Francisco, California. She was born December 2, 1938 in Gladwin Co., Michigan moving there from Saginaw in 1992. She had been a homemaker. She married Floyd E. Eschenbacher, Sr. on November 8, 1958 in Rhodes, Michigan. Surviving are her husband, Floyd E. Eschenbacher, Sr. of Beaverton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Floyd E. Jr. and Debra Eschenbacher, Saginaw; Robert and Donna Eschenbacher, Morrison, Tenn.; son, Michael Eschenbacher, Beaverton, Mich.; daughter, Lori Eschenbacher, Beaverton, Mich.; eight grandchildren; brother, Leo DeLavern, Allegan, Mich.; four sisters, Edith Beierschmitt, Joye Broihier and Rose Ann Solomon, all of Beaverton; Marion Scott, Rolling Prairie, Ind.
