Passed away Wednesday, February 17, 1999, at his home following a brief illness. Age 87 years. He was born October 5, 1911 in Saginaw and had been a resident of Shields since 1919. He graduated from Paines School in 1926 and then worked for the Saginaw Tile Company. He served with the U.S. Army from 1941-1945 with Gen. Patton's 3rd Army. He was wounded on April 2, 1945 and was the recipient of the Purple Heart, the Silver Star and the Middle Eastern African Campaign Medal. Following the war, he was employed by Koehler Brothers Steel until 1959, and then worked for the Swan Valley Schools until his retirement on June 30, 1973. He was a member of V.F.W. Post #1566. He was predeceased by four brothers and one sister, Frank Pflueger, George Pflueger, Sandy Pflueger, Bill Pflueger and Jennie Mocney. Surviving are many nieces, nephews and their families. Funeral service will take place 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the W.L. Case & Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. Rev. Barbara VanEssendelft will officiate with military burial in Owen Cemetery under the auspices of the V.F.W. Post #1566. Friends may call at the chapel, 201 N. Passed away Wednesday, February 17, 1999, at Covenant Medical Center-Harrison. Age 67 years. The daughter of the late William and Edna (Schoof) Beyersdorf was born June 5, 1931 in Hemlock. She married Martin A. Wardin February 18, 1961. He survives her. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, its Ladies Aid, a member of the Church Choir and participated in the Quilting Group. Surviving besides her husband are two daughters, one son and their spouses, Yvonne and Steve Mrozinski, Lynn and Brad Smith, Kevin and Carol Wardin, all of Hemlock; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth and Rebecca Mrozinski, Jenifer, Stephanie, Anna and Madison Smith, Emily and Harrison Wardin; five sisters and two brothers, Adeline Neuenfeldt, Mildred Pretzer, Doris Schafer, Connie Ellis, Evelyn Pretzer, Elder and Chester Beyersdorf; many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Three sisters and one brother, Iola Minto, Nina Rowe, Ruella Suhan and Addison Beyersdorf have predeceased her. The funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 1999 at St. Peter Lutheran Church. Rev. Richard Mundt and Rev. Age 75 years. Arlene C. Korzecki was born August 26, 1923. She married Austin J. Moeller. He preceded her in death May 2, 1972. Surviving are one son, Scott J. Moeller, Louisiana. Arlene was preceded in death by one son, Jon D. Moeller November 3, 1988. Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 1999 at The Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. She is survived by her husband Joe, two sons, Melvin (Sue) McCreery of Freeland; and LeRoy (Evelyn) McCreery of Sumner; two daughters, Darlene (Jack) Allen of Sumner; and Marilyn (Richard) Leslie of Coldwater.
