Passed away Friday, February 19, 1999, at Saint Mary's hospital. Age 73 years. Kenneth was born May 28, 1925. He married Harriet Ostrander in Burt, Mich. She passed away September 25, 1997. He was a member of Local #699. Surviving are seven sons and six daughters, all of Burt; 33 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one sister. In addition to his wife he was also predeceased by two daughters and one son. Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Krauss- Torhan Funeral Home, Birch Run. Rev. Ted McCulloch will officiate with burial in Cook Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday. Former resident of the Bridgeport-Spaulding area passed away suddenly Thursday, February 18, 1999 due to an accident at work. Age 40 years. He was born September 4, 1958 in Saginaw and was graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1976. He served with the U.S. Navy for six years. He married Kimberly Sanderson on June 8, 1979; she survives him. He was currently employed at Midland Cogeneration Venture. Steven was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an assistant wrestling and football coach for Central Middle School in Midland and volunteered for many youth activities with his sons. Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Donald G. and Zachary Z. Zuzula, both at home; his parents, Donald and Janice Zuzula, Saginaw; two brothers and one sister, Daniel H. Zuzula and his wife, Nancy, Lake City; John E. Zuzula and his wife, Heather, Lake City; Donna D. Zuzula, Saginaw; his father-in-law, George Sanderson, Saginaw; many nieces and nephews and many other relatives and dear friends. He was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Margeorie Sanderson and his grandparents. Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 22, 1999 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Rev. Robert Byrne will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at the W.L. Case & Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Lieselotte Eleonore Buchenau passed away peacefully Saturday, February 20, 1999, at her home, with her family at her side, after a courageous battle with cancer. Loving mother of Hans-Georg Buchenau, (wife Eileen); grandmother of Jennifer (dear friend John Schmidt); and Hans Eric Buchenau (wife Shelley) residents of America. Loving sister of Ernst and Herman Bauer, sister-in-law of Adele Bauer and cousin of Rosemarie Bauer, residents of Germany. Lotti was a much loved "Mutter, Oma, and Freund" to many. We all shared a common love of a strong, independent and beautiful woman. Lotti's last wishes were to be cremated with her ashes returned to Deutschland, her home land, and scattered over the Rhine River. She requested no memorial, just prayers in her memory. William R. Skrocki, age 83 years, died Saturday, February 20, 1999, in Frankenmuth Care Center. On October 23, 1915 he was born to the late Joseph and Angeline (Miller) Skrocki in St. Helen, Michigan and has resided in Munger most of his life. Bill was employed with Maday Construction from 1964 until 1980, but was a farmer during most of his lifetime. He was a member of St. Norbert Church in Munger, its Ushers Club, and the Knights of Columbus Council #2740 in Essexville. He was a charter member of the Munger Potato Festival and a volunteer with the fire department in Munger for 25 years. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Lynch and nine children, Richard (Carol) Skrocki of Saginaw, Janet (Frank) Hozeska of Munger, Diane (Don) Buckey of Munger, James (Carol) Skrocki of Bay City, David Skrocki of Bay City, Leo Skrocki of Munger, Ellen (Chris) Quick of Auburn, Ruth (David) Meisel of Bay City, Mark (Terri) Skrocki of Bay City; 19 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Walter and John Skrocki and his sisters, Mary Maday and Josephine Paciorkowski. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Tuesday, February 23, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Norbert Church, Munger. Rev. James Carlson will preside and intermenty will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery. The Vigil Service will be held Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the Trahan Chapel. Visiting hours with the family will be Sunday from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.; Monday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the W.A. Passed away Saturday, February 20, 1999, at her home in Hemlock at the age of 85 years. Elsie E. Goodman was born September 11, 1913 in Hemlock to the late Charles and Barbara Goodman and was a lifelong resident. She was married to W. Dale Turner in 1941. She is survived by one son, three daughters and their spouses, Gordon and Lynne Turner, Hemlock; Barbara and Larry Widmer, Wichita, Kansas; Nancy and Dan Priest, Hemlock; Darlene and Bob Rupp, Rochester Hills; seven grandchildren, Alexandrine (Jerald) Brown, Edmore; Mariyah (Todd) Fritz, Temperance; Jason (Lisa) Lapa, San Diego, California; Jason Hiser, Hancock; Leane Hiser, Hemlock; Adam and Amy Rupp, Rochester Hills; four great-grandchildren, Blake and Parker Fritz; Emily Brown, and Bailey Lapa; also her sister-in-law, Ruth Goodman; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale, her daughter, Mary, her brother, Edwin Goodman and her sister, Lenora Hase. Beloved wife, mother and grandmother died peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on Friday, February 19, 1999.
Age 82 years. Laura M. Chabot was born March 22, 1916 in Alpena, Michigan. She was married to Gordon K. Lee on January 2, 1937. He predeceased her February 21, 1988. Laura then married George Urban on December 10, 1994. He survives her. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Surviving besides her husband George are four sons and four daughters, Sally and Vaughn Wagner, Little Rock, Arkansas; Joan and Adriaan Vanderhor, Albuquerque, New Mexico; Thomas and Phyllis Lee, Weippe, Idaho; Mary Perry-Heckerthorne and her husband Allen, Traverse City; Robert and Kathleen Lee, Saginaw; John Lee and his fiancee Janet McLaren, Clio; Christine McGrath, Ann Arbor; Mark Lee and his fiancee Tammy Miller, Saginaw; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ernestine Jaskey, Alpena; Alice Dzienski, Florida; Laura's best friend, Helen Krenz, Saginaw; several nieces and nephews. Laura was preceded in death by a son, James David Lee, and by two brothers and three sisters. Passed away Tuesday, February 16, 1999, at Covenant Medical Center-Harrison. Age 74 years. He was born Dec. 25, 1924, in Greenwood, Miss. Mr. Jones retired from the Chevrolet Grey Iron Plant and was a member of UAW Local No. 668. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and was a deacon for 30 years. He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Willie Mae Jones-Laury, Saginaw; and Pamela Jones, Arizona; one son, Willie James Jones, Chicago; one step-daughter, Florene Taylor, Grand Ledge, Mich.; two step-sons, Don Phillips and Henry Doshie, both of Saginaw; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mandy Graham and Rosie Lee Scott, both of South Bend, Ind.; a special goddaughter, Betty Brown and his god-granddaughter, Sherita Dosal; his mother-in-law, Pearlie Eledgn; a special friend, George Washington; also his special friend and caregiver, Linda Galvin; many other relatives and friends.
