Beloved husband, father and grandfather went to meet God Tuesday, February 23, 1999.
Age 62 years. He was born January 3, 1937 in Linwood, Michigan. Dick married Joan M. Krawczak on February 9, 1957 in Carrollton, Michigan. She survives him. He enjoyed carpentry and woodworking. Dick had been employed at Saginaw Division for 23 years until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of the Saginaw Radio Control Club, the Midland Radio Control Club and U.A.W. Local #699. Surviving besides his wife Joan are two sons and three daughters, Robert and Kathy Rivard, Hemlock; Kathy and James Wilson, Clio; Tim Rivard and his fiancee Joyce Wietfeldt, Hemlock; Cynthia and Mark Cresswell, Grand Rapids; Tina and Greg Schmidt, Saginaw; nine grandchildren, Melinda, Laura and Brandon Rivard, Bryan and Brad Wilson, Ritchie, Mary and Lili Cresswell and Austin Schmidt; four brothers and one sister, Art and Clara Rivard, Pinconning; Marie LaBean, Pinconning; Bud and Elaine Rivard, Bay City; Joe and Gloria Rivard, Bay City; Bernard and Margaret Rivard, Pinconning; several nieces and nephews. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Hiram and Roseina (Sequin) Rivard, and by one brother and one sister, Ernie Rivard and Laura Machelski. Passed away Sunday, February 21, 1999, at Covenant Medical Center-Harrison. Age 87 years. Mr. Tanner was born January 13, 1912 in Taymouth Twp. and was a lifelong resident. He married Josephine Ballard on September 10, 1937 in Birch Run. She survives him. Mr. Tanner was a lifelong dairy farmer and a member of Birch Run United Methodist Church, the Farm Bureau and the MMPA. Surviving besides his wife are three sons and two daughters and their spouses, Ellsworth George (Jackie) Tanner of Birch Run; John (Mary) Tanner of Birch Run; Vivian (Thomas) Cook of Birch Run; Joell (Timothy) Daenzer of Frankenmuth; Todd (Mary Jo) Tanner of Vassar; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Charlotte Hubinger of Birch Run; a brother, A.J. Tanner of Birch Run; sister-in-law, Norma Tanner of Birch Run. Four brothers, Claude, Edgar, Cletis and Carl and four sisters, Pearl, Ruth, Lucille and Rose predeceased him. Passed away Sunday, February 21, 1999 at Covenant Medical Center-Harrison. Age 67 years. He was born July 12, 1931, in Caseville. He married Eva Gomez who predeceased him in 1975. He later married Ernestine Trevino who predeceased him in 1997. Sam worked for General Motors for 22 years. Surviving are one daughter, Becky Chacon (Felisiano Jr.), Saginaw; one son, Eugene Dominguez, Tempe, Arizona; five grandchildren, Felisiano III, Reymundo, Marcos, Manuel and Stephanie Chacon, all of Saginaw; three great-grandchildren, Alicia and Marissa Chacon and Jordan Mirelez, all of Saginaw; four step- children, Christina Gomez (Adolph) and Angie Arizola (Jimmie), both of Texas; Dora Gonzales, Lansing; Roland Gonzales, Flint; one sister, Delores Perez, Pinconning; one brother, Jose Dominguez, Detroit; many nieces and nephews. Passed away Monday, February 22, 1999 at Covenant Medical Center-Harrison due to complications with Multiple Sclerosis.
Tom was born March 13, 1947 in Saginaw. Tom graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1965. He received a scholarship for football and attended Northern Michigan University. After one season he volunteered for the United States Army. Tom spent his time in the service in Vietnam as a chauffeur for General Westmoreland, and as a machine door gunner on a helicopter. He was interested in several outdoor sports, especially calf roping and participating in rodeos. Tom is survived by his beloved mother, Eleanore Crannell; two sisters, Barbara Ann McHugh of Grand Rapids, Mich.; Patricia Ann Crannell of Saginaw; two brothers, Richard H. Crannell and his wife, Shelly, Gregory Charles Crannell, all of Saginaw; two children, John and Anne Crannell and granddaughter, Kalyn Audrey Crannell, all of Colorado; several nieces and nephews, Kelly Crannell, Scott, Dana, Sean and Brandon McHugh, Phillip and Bryan Crannell; also loving friend, Mary Crannell. Tom also leaves a big family of nurses and friends at Hoyt Nursing Home who for the past seven years have taken excellent care of our son and brother. We also thank the nurses and staff of Covenant Medical Center- Harrison, seventh floor, for their continued efforts to keep him comfortable during his last days here. Tom was preceded in death by his father, Harry "Crash" Crannell. Tom will be missed. A few days before his expiration he expressed these words to his mother and sister: Happy trails to you, Until we meet again. Happy trails to you, Keep smiling on till then. Died Monday, February 22, 1999, at The Lutheran Home in Frankenmuth. Age 90 years. Edna Pickelmann was born January 16, 1909 in Frankenmuth. She was married to Anthony J. Abbenante in 1928; he predeceased her in 1960. She later married Norman Koeppendoerfer in 1965; he predeceased her in 1977. Edna was previously a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Saginaw and presently a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church in Frankenmuth. Surviving are two daughters and three sons, Nancy and Steve Miller of Swartz Creek; Patricia Reuter of Florida; Kenneth and Suzanne Abbenante of Frankenmuth; Theodore and Bette Jo Abbenante of Saginaw; Richard and Janet Abbenante of California; 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; also many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters. Prayer service and committal service will take place 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth.
