Age 77 years. Family hour will take place at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 3, 1999 at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 810 Cathay Street with the funeral commencing at 11:00 a.m. Rev. T.J. London will officiate with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Browne's Mortuary, 441 N. Jefferson Ave. on Wednesday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Nettie B. McKenzie was born on August 18, 1921 in Airton, Ala. to Edward and Flossie (Flenoy) Hall. She was a member of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, under the direction of Rev. T.J. London, where she served on the Nurses' Guild and the Usher Board. She was also a member of the Sojourner Truth Chapter #40. She married Lloyd McKenzie Sr. in Airton, Alabama in January 1940. He preceded her in death on October 31, 1986. Nettie leaves to cherish her memory six children, Lloyd McKenzie Jr., Joyce (Alphounce) Williams, both of Saginaw; Victoria (Herbert) Wilson of Milwaukee, Wisc.; Alfred (Arneatha) McKenzie of Saginaw, Mich.; Jacque McKenzie of Milwaukee, Wisc.; and Eric McKenzie of New Orleans, La.; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lorraine Conley of Saginaw; and Armiller Haynes of Nashville, Tenn.; five brothers, Ed Hall, Barnes (Mary) Hall, Elmore (Margaret) Hall, all of Saginaw; Willie Jay (Betty) Hall of Detroit; and James (Carole) Hall of Ann Arbor; many nieces, including Brenda Hall (Bumblebee), nephews, cousins and friends including special cousin, Mose Reeves of E. Chicago, Ind.; and special friend Helen Bibbs of Elmwood Manor in Saginaw.

Passed away Sunday, May 30, 1999 in Texas. Age 78 years. He was born September 11, 1920 in Portland, Oregon, living in Saginaw most of his life. He married Merilla Leppert, April 17, 1942; she passed away June 19, 1993. He was employed by General Motors, Chevrolet Service Parts Plant, retiring in 1975 after over 34 years of service. He served with the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a member of First Congregational Church. Surviving are one son, three daughters and their spouses, Warren and Ruth Kent Jr., Greenville, Mich.; Rilla and Gil Allen, Duncanville, Texas; Kathleen and Stanley Dulaney, Auburn, Mich.; Carol Kent, Grass Lake, Mich.; 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; a sister and her husband, Julia and Bruce Obuchowski, Kalamazoo, Mich.; several nieces and nephews. A son, Wallace Kent, five brothers and sisters have predeceased him. The funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 4, 1999 at the W.L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Mr. Kent's son-in-law, Pastor Stanley R. Dulaney will officiate with military burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday. 1913-1999. Beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Thursday, May 27, 1999. He is fondly remembered by his many former students because of his dedication and concern for them as an Alma College Professor. A memorial service will be held at the Alma College Chapel on Sunday, June 13, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. Memorials can be sent to the Alice and Charles Skinner Scholarship Fund at Alma College or to the Michigan Masonic Home. The Dewey Funeral Home of Alma handled the arrangements.
