Loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Tuesday, February 29, 2000. Age 85 years. Ernest Norbert Elbert was born July 1, 1914 in Saginaw. He married Marjorie (Hayes) Frenzel on July 30, 1938. She survives him. Mr. Elbert was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church in Saginaw. He retired from Baker Perkins after 33 years of service. Surviving besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Dale and Tim Elbert, both of Saginaw; two granddaughters, Shelly (Craig) Schneider and Stacey Elbert; two great-grandchildren, Cameron and Mallory Schneider and two sisters-in-law, Bernetes Hillebrand and Dorothy Stork. Ernest was predeceased by his parents, five brothers and three sisters. Funeral service will take place 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2000 at the The Reitz-Herzberg Funeral Home on Midland Rd. Rev. Frank Reisinger III and Rev. Tim Kraemer will officiate with intermenty to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Age 64 years. The daughter of the late Ila (Dancy) and Leon Nichols was born on May 9, 1935 in Birch Run. She was married to James F. Reis for 42 years. She was employed at the family business, Superior Dairies, Inc. until her retirement. She also operated a part time monogramming business. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Pauline enjoyed sewing, quilting and time with her grandchildren. Surviving are one daughter, three sons and their spouses, Kimberly Wallace, Steve Reis, Scott and Mary Reis, all of Saginaw; Tim and Jann Reis of New Lothrop; three grandchildren, Ashley Wallace, Michael and Maxwell Reis; one sister and two brothers, Dorothy Dubay, Charles and Beverly Nichols and Ward and Sally Nichols; one sister-in-law Betty Nichols, a brother-in-law Robert Ballard and a special friend Donald Brady. Pauline was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas Nichols, a sister, Lorraine Ballard, brother-in-law, Ben Dubay and a son, Troy. Funeral Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2000 at The Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter (off State). Age 37 years. Passed away Monday, February 28, 2000, at home after a valiant struggle with muscular dystrophy. Robert Fieger was born April 25, 1962 in Saginaw. He was the owner and D.J. of the Rolling Bullet Music and Lighting. He was an active member of the Birch Run-Taymouth Jaycees serving as President for two terms. He was winner of the State Speak-up 1987-1988, outstanding friendship and dedication and an outstanding fundraiser, 1st place Community Development Program and the Spirit of Independence Award (CIL). He loved to hunt, fish and cook. He leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Peggy (Frank) Roles of Akron; Robert (Mary) Fieger of Howell; one brother, Harvey (Heather) Roles; three sisters, Karen Fieger and friend Shelly, Shannon Keech and Shelley (Steve) Szczepanski; grandparents, Fontella (Claude) Cooper of Birch Run and Melvin Fieger of Saginaw; aunts, uncles, one nephew, six nieces and one great-niece and many very special friends. His grandmother, Iola Fieger predeceased him. Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Krauss- Torhan Funeral Home, Birch Run. Rev. William Eickhoff will officiate. Griffin and her brother, Donnie (Ann) Gaddis; his four sisters, Ada Cole and Emma Lou Jackson, both of Las Vegas, Nev.; Dorothy O'Gwinn, San Bernadino, Calif. and Helen Parrish, Cincinnati, Ohio; his nephew, Billy Williams, Dayton, Ohio; nieces, Ruby M. Washington, Monroe, La.; Sandra McWilliams and Toni Moore, both of San Bernadino, Calif. and Wanda Lynn Owens, Cincinnati, Ohio and a host of other relatives and friends.
