Passed away Thursday, April 20, 2000, following a short illness. Age 41 years. He was born March 23, 1959 in Pordenone, Italy. He was a graduate of Whitehall High School, Michigan Tech and the SVSU Elementary Pilot Program. Nick was a special education teacher with the Buena Vista School District for the past three years. He married Cindy S. McNally on September 12, 1992. She survives him. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Surviving besides his wife are his son, Jason D. Zeitler, at home; his mother, Concettina Zeitler, Whitehall, Michigan. His father, Donald Zeitler, predeceased him in 1993. Also surviving are his brother and sister-in-law, Robert J. and Norma Zeitler, LaGrange, Ill.; his parents-in-law, Thomas and Marilyn McNally, Saginaw; two brothers-in-law and their spouses, Thomas and Rhonda McNally, Pittsburgh, Pa.; Daniel and Sheryl McNally, Springfield, Va.; his niece and nephews, Christopher and Andrew Zeitler, Brianne, Kevin, Tyler and Joey McNally; his special friends, Charles, Beverly and Jean Wargel; Robert and Janet Sandon; and Toni Askew; also many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Mass of Christian burial will take place 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2000 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St. Rev. Fr. Robert L. Konopa, O.F.M. will officiate. Friends may call at the W.L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4880 Mackinaw Rd., from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Monday where they may meet at 7:30 p.m. for a wake service. They may then call at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Jason D. Zeitler Trust Fund, or the Brunkow Elementary School PTA.
Mass of Christian burial will take place 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2000 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St. Rev. Fr. Robert L. Konopa, O.F.M. will officiate. Passed away Monday, April 17, 2000. Age 79 years. Carmen was born November 29, 1920 to William and Laura Burns of Saginaw. They predeceased her. She was married to Carl U. France on February 18, 1938. He predeceased her July 17, 1985. She worked for the Michigan Republican Party and volunteered for numerous organizations. She was a member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Bay City. Surviving are her daughter, Barbara (John) Poliskey of Gaylord; a son, Kent C. (Linda) France of Lexington; and her special friend, Joe Ruby of Ft. Lauderdale; also a brother, Bill (Dorothy) Burns of Jupiter, Fla.; a sister, Maxine (Albert) Bernethy of Saginaw; a sister-in-law, Vivian Bruce of Saginaw; and Jean Shulz of Gaylord; also three grandsons, three granddaughters; 21 great- grandchildren and four exchange students who called her grandma. A niece and two nephews predeceased her. Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 24, 2000 at the McIntyre Funeral Chapel, 500 N. Michigan Ave. Rev. Fr. John Sarge will officiate with entombment in Oakwood Mausoleum. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Carmen A. Passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2000 at his home. Age 73 years. The son of the late Catherine Marie (Vesterfelt) and George Martin Dierich was born March 17, 1927 in Saginaw. He married Bonnie Brandt, January 19, 1951, she survives him. He served with the U.S. Army Military Police in Germany after World War II. He was employed by General Motors, Saginaw Steering Gear, and (Delphi) for 37 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and the Loyal Order of the Moose #82. Surviving besides his wife, Bonnie Jean Dierich, are four children and their spouses, Cathy and Steve Shady, Kendellville, Indiana; Donald and Sue Dierich, Bay City; Deborah and Ron Viers, Thomas and Mary Dierich, all of Saginaw; eight grandchildren, Angela and Lindsey Shady; Jamie and Michelle Dierich; Derek and Dennis Viers, Danielle and Christopher Dierich; a sister, two brothers and their spouses, Bea and Ed Cummings, Harold and Barbara Dierich, James Dierich, all of Saginaw; several nieces and nephews. A son, Larry Dierich, and a brother, Jerry Dierich, have predeceased him. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2000 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. David Parsch will officiate with Military Burial in St. Andrew Cemetery under the auspices of V.F.W. Post #1859. Friends may call at the W.L. Case & Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Mr. Putz passed away Thursday morning, April 20, 2000 at Bay Medical Center. Age 93 years. The son of the late John W. and Martha B. (Schluckebier) Putz was born October 16, 1906 in Bay City, Mich. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and was the President of John W. Putz Hardware Store. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lois A. and Richard C. Niemann of Bay City, Mich.; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Clemens and Marion Putz of Saginaw, Mich. and Dorothy Wendt of Bay City, Mich.; two grandchildren, Scott (Kristy) Putz of Boise, Idaho; and Debi (Matt) Elms of Seattle, Wash.; two great-grandchildren; his care givers; special friends, Aunt Mary and Uncle Herb Martin; his nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Putz in 1975; two sons, J. Wendell Putz in 1992 and Ronald J. Putz in 1998 and two sisters, Delia Gerhauser and Irma Cannan. Funeral Services will take place Saturday, April 22, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Bay City. Officiating will be Rev. William H. Allwardt with intermenty in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc., 201 W. Midland St., Bay City, Friday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. He will be taken to the church to lie in state Saturday from 10:00 a.m. and until services.
