Died late Friday evening, April 21, 2000, at Heartland Health Care in Bay City. Age 84 years. He was born July 23, 1915 in Gilford Township, Tuscola County, to the late William and Flora (Lafayette) Ahrns. Mr. Ahrns was employed by the Michigan State Highway Department in Saginaw for 28 years. He was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Reese and also a member of the Canada Creek Ranch Association and shot his first elk at the age of 77. His first love of hunting and fishing became secondary at the births of his grandchildren Amber and Austin. Surviving in addition to Amber and Austin, is his son, Dennis Ahrns and his wife Sherrie of Essexville, one sister, Emma Marx of Reese, his brother-in-law, John Wylie of Reese, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Pat and Don Petzold of Millington, and his sister-in- law Ruth Ahrns of Reese and many friends especially Nelson Uhl. of Unionville. Darwin was predeceased by two brothers, Arthur and George Ahrns. Funeral services will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2000, from the Christ Lutheran Church in Reese. Rev. Dennis Smith will officiate with entombment to follow in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Saginaw. Mr. Ahrns' family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith- Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw St. in Reese on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services. She leaves her husband and best friend, Richard Mathious; one very dear son, Alton Rodgers (Alisha Green); two grandchildren, Shamar and Adia; sisters, Altheia Lee (Warren), Sandra Smith, Valery Smith, Michelle Bradley, Pamela Jones (Phillip) and Renea Smith; brothers, Porter Smith, Charles Clark, Ronnie Clark, Stanley Clark, Gordon Clark, Perry Smith; her mother-in- law and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Mathious and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends, including two special friends, Dolus Polielarz and Guy Garber.

Formerly of Saginaw. Passed away Good Friday, April 21, 2000, at his parent's home in Saginaw. Age 55 years. The son of Ansel and Arlene (Friebe) McCormick was born December 5, 1944 in Bay City. He was a 1962 graduate of Arthur Hill High School. He served his country in the Navy. His tour of duty was on the U.S.S. Skipjack Nuclear Submarine during the Cold War. He graduated from Western Michigan University and was a teacher in Springport, Michigan for 20 years, until his retirement in 1994. Jeff also was the Village President of Springport for many years. Surviving besides his parents are a brother, a sister and their spouses, Mike and Gail McCormick, Seattle, WA; Debbie and Rick Franz, Scottsdale, AZ; a niece, Michelle Franz, two nephews, Bobby and Danny Franz. Funeral service will take place 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2000, at the W.L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Edward Kast will officiate with private burial in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Monday. Mr. Cline died suddenly Tuesday evening, April 18, 2000 in Baltimore, Maryland due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Age 64 years. He was born December 17, 1935 in Saginaw to the late Glen and Dorothy (Dinninger) Cline. He married Nancy J. Torka on July 31, 1978, she survives him. Skip was an avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing, hunting and all nature had to offer him. He volunteered a lot of his time with the Boy Scouts and was a member of the NRA. Surviving besides his wife, Nancy, are five children, Josh H. Cline, Bay City; Terry (Dave) Tunney, Alger; Bunny (Jeff) Miller, Prescott; Brian Cline, Prescott; and Rick (Shelly) Cline, Lupton; 12 grandchildren; one brother, Jerry (Marlene) Cline, Saginaw; two sisters, Lorraine (Jerry) Conger, Bridgeport and Maureen Holland, Hampton, Ga.; one sister-in-law, Adolphia Cline, Saginaw; several nieces and nephews and many very dear loving friends. Skip was predeceased by a brother, Harold Cline and a sister, Carol Pine. Cremation has taken place. Passed away Saturday, April 22, 2000, at Covenant Medical Center- Cooper. Age 77 years. Mary Lena Fuhrland was born August 12, 1922 in Richland Township. She married Francis Cranmer July 26, 1937. He predeceased her in 1979. Mary was a member of the Lakefield Wesleyan Church. Surviving are two sons and their spouses, Frank and Ardcan Cranmer, Pomona Park, Florida; Herbert and Mary Cranmer, Phoenix, Arizona; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a daugher-in- law, Barbara Cranmer Moore, St. Charles. Passed away Friday, April 21, 2000, at James E. Cartwright Care Center, Saginaw. Age 46 years. She was born October 6, 1953 in Owosso, the daughter of Frank and Margaret (Warnke) Andres. She resided in Maple Grove Township her entire life. She married Charles Eickholt on April 28, 1973. He survives her. She was a member of st Michaels Catholic Church and served on the parish council and worship committee. She graduated from St. Michaels High School in 1971. She had been a hairdresser in the Chesaning, Saginaw and Owosso areas since 1973. Surviving besides her husband, are one daughter and two sons, Stephanie Eickholt and her fiancee Ryan Zelinko; Joseph Eickholt and Kevin Eickholt; her mother, Margaret Andres; her brothers and sisters, Frank and Lynn Andres of Mountain View, CA; Don and Betty Andres of Grand Blanc; Arlene and Dr. Mark Walsh of Kingsville, TX; Gordon and Patricia Andres of New Lothrop; Marie and Aldric Belchak of Pinconning; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Mary Eickholt of Chesaning; special niece, Cindie Andres-Allett of New Lothrop; special friends, Bill and Chris Streng of Chesaning; also many nieces and nephews. Former Saginaw resident, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2000, at Meadowview Healthcare, Huntsville, Arkansas. Age 95 years. Lily Florence Lee was born February 17, 1905, the daughter of the late Salem and Elizabeth Jane (Lipscomb) Lee of Garrett, Maryland. Following the death of her mother, she became the foster daughter of John O. and Sarah Virginia Thayer of Oakland, Maryland. On May 29, 1925, Florence married Hugh A. Benner and moved to Saginaw where Hugh was employed by the City of Saginaw as a Civil Engineer. Florence continued as a resident of Saginaw all of her married life, was a homemaker, a Presbyterian and a member of the Salvation Army Home League. She was preceded in death by all 10 natural and four foster siblings; her husband Hugh in February of 1964, son John Fredrick Benner in October of 1992 and great-granddaughter, Shannon Lee Smelser in December of 1988. She is survived by a son Hugh Richard Benner, Newport News, Virginia; a daughter, Major Joyce Lee (Benner) Smelser, Huntsville, Arkansas; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will take place 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2000 at the W.L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road.
