Janice M. (Bassett) Knapp
Mrs. Janice M. (Bassett) Knapp of Flint, formerly of Millington, died on Tuesday, April 13, 1999 at the Hurley Medical Center in Flint. She was 33 years of age.
Surviving is her husband and family; Joseph (Joe) Knapp of Flint; children, Zachary, Adrienne, and Ian, all at home; parents, Patrick and Leah Bassett of Millington; mother and father-in-law, Marvin and Martha Knapp of Houghton Lake; grandparents, Mrs. Thelma Knapp, and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence and Margaret Kempf; brothers and sisters, Scott and Barb Bassett, Randy Bassett, Gary Bassett, Janeen and Jim Witmer, Chris Bassett, Heidi Blasius, and Jody and Dan McCoy; sister-in-law, Amy and Steve Hawkins, brother-in-law, Jason and Pilar Knapp; nieces and nephews, Bryan, Derek, Brett, Carrie, Sheana, Cassie, Jennifer, Justen, Alyssa, Lainey, Daniel, Tony, Judah, Gina, Elisa, and Affi.
She was preceded in death by grandparents, Frank and Iris Revesz and Chauncey and Francis Bassett; an uncle, Chan Bassett; grandparent-in-law, Gerald Knapp; and a niece, Lindsey Nicole Bassett.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 17, 1999 at the Otisville Assembly of God Church with Pastor Stephen Powers officiating. Interment was in Millington Township Cemetery.

Doris M. Carrington
Mrs. Doris M. Carrington of Vassar died on Thursday, April 15, 1999 at the Frankenmuth Care Center. She was 77 years of age.
Surviving is one daughter, Kathy Windsor of Bremon, Indiana; one son, Bernard Killin of Vassar; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 17, 1999 at the Hanlin Chapel in Vassar wit Pastor Rick Sheppard officiating.

Lillian Mead
Mrs. Lillian Mead of Millington died Friday, April 2, 1999 at Flint Hurley Medical Center. She was 74 years of age.
Surviving besides her husband, are four children, Jimmie and wife Ginger Mead of Quanicassee, Vickie and husband Larry Leo of Saginaw, Judy Letts of Vassar, and Danny and wife Sandy Mead of Vassar; 11 grandchildren, Kristi and husband Doug Hasler, Heidi Mead, Jackie Mead, Jeff Leo, Greg Leo, Danlee Mead, Dustin Letts, Darcy Letts, Stacy Carlisle, Jacki Carlisle, and Sarah Carlisle; four great grandchildren, Kayla Colosky, Michael Hasler, Matthew Hasler, and Katie Lynn Mead; two sisters, Betty and husband Clarence Parth of Lupton, and Bonnie and husband Paul Stewart of Fairgrove; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Mead was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Lea Ann in 1994, and a sister June Bolton.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 6, 1999 at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Richard Szafranski officiating. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery, Vassar.

Isabelle May Colling, of Millington, died on April 6, 1999 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. She was 87 years of age.
Surviving is one brother, Charles Colling of Millington, two nieces; Lois and Richard Ladd of Mayville, and Margaret and Emile Lacramp of Sequim, Washington; five nephews, Robert and Shirley Colling, Dalton and Barbara Colling, all of Fostoria, Delbert Tilley of Rochester, Alton and MaryKay Colling of Rochester, New York, and Kenton and June Colling of Millington; and many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews, and a special cousin, Barbara Breinager of Millington.
A Rebecca Memorial Service and an Eastern Stars Memorial Service was held on Wednesday, April 7, 1999. Funeral services were held on Thursday, April 8, 1999 at the United Methodist Church in Millington with Pastor Paul Amstutz officiating. Interment was in Watertown Township Cemetery in Fostoria.

Mrs. Dorothy I. Wesley of Toledo, Ohio, and formerly of Vassar, died on Monday, April 5, 1999 at the Foundation Park Care Center in Toledo. She was 80 years of age.
She leaves to cherish her memory her family, husband, Charles (Chuck); a daughter, Kendra Wesley of Toledo; a son, Kelly and Lydia Wesley of Vassar; three grandchildren, Brad, Ramero, and Shayne Wesley; two great-grandchildren, Aubree and Shannen Wesley; one sister, Jane Crabs of California; one brother, Eugene Kelly of North Branch; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Craven Kelly.

Surviving are her children, Jack and wife Mildred Lewis, Louanne and husband Thomas Campbell, and George and wife Nina Lewis; grandchildren, Douglas and wife Tracy Lewis, Jeff and wife Pam Campbell, Cindy Lewis, Craig Campbell, Holly and husband Rod Byron; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Cecil Darcy, John Spicer, Bud Spicer, Stewart Spicer, Marge Stiff, and Alethea Bondy.
Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her husband Milton Lewis, brothers, Roy, Leo, and Ernie Spicer, and sister Joyce Diller.

Earl T. Bates, of Benbrook, Texas, died on Wednesday, March 24, 1999 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was 77 years of age.
Surviving are his wife, Harper Bates of Benbrook; a daughter, Brenda and Lamar Avery of Forth Worth, Texas; brothers, Bob Bates of Cleveland, Ohio, Grant Bates of Vassar, and Don Bates of Miami, Oklahoma; a sister, Margaret Holiday of Sacramento, California; grandchildren, Kristy Carleton and Brent Carleton, both of Fort Worth, and Jennifer Reid of Petersburg, Florida; and several nieces and nephews in the Vassar area.
Mr. Bates was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Edna Bates; and a son, Tommy Bates.
Funeral services were held on March 27, 1999 at the First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth with Dr. Bill Longsworth and Dr. Lamar Smith officiating. Interment was Laurel Land Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Dale Holsey, Sam Ozee, Richard Luper, John Boydston, Max Fisher, and Tracy Hibler.
