LAVERNE HAROLD DONNELLY
Mr. Laverne Harold Donnelly of Vassar, died Wednesday, October 11, 2000 at his home. He was 61 years of age.
Mr. Donnelly was born April 9, 1939 in Saginaw and was the son of William Donnelly and Elviria Berlin McCreedy. He had been employed as a welder at Peter's Manufacturing in Vassar. Mr. Donnelly enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and spending time with his family and his many nieces and nephews. He had been a resident of Vassar since 1958 and was a member of Vassar F.O.E. #2380.
Surviving is his loving wife of 44 years, Nancy; one son, Patrick; three granddaughters, Amy, Jenny, Tricia; one great-granddaughter, Kayla; his mother, Elviria McCreedy; and one brother, Midge Donnelly.
He was preceded in death by his father, William and one brother, Duane.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 14, 2000 at the Hanlin Chapel for Funerals in Vassar with burial at the Millington Township Cemetery. Pastor Cyril Haines officiated.
Memorials may be directed to the charity of one's choice.

ALFRED L. ANDERSON
Mr. Alfred L. Anderson of the Vassar and Millington areas, died Thursday, October 5, 2000 at Bay Medical Center in Bay City. He was 87 years of age.
Mr. Anderson was born February 21, 1913 in Sandwich, Illinois and was the son of Nathaniel and Ethel (West) Anderson. He grew up in Whittemore, Michigan and graduated from East Tawas High School in 1934. Mr. Anderson served in the United States Army during World War II. On December 27, 1941 he married Margaret Bradd and together they celebrated 58 years of marriage. She survives him.
Mr. Anderson retired in 1972 after 30 years with Malleable Iron in Saginaw. He was a member of Local UAW #455, Masonic Lodge of Otisville #401, Eastern Star #282 and a 32nd degree Mason with Bay City Consistory. He was also a member of Arbela United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret; four children, Jan and Richard Myers of Vassar, Barbara Anderson of Gainesville, Florida, Ken and Colleen Anderson, Don and Tanya Anderson, all of Saginaw; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Roberts of Whittemore, Genevieve Jacobs of Florida; one brother, Lloyd Anderson of Birch Run; several nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Nathan and one brother, Vernon.
Funeral services were held Sunday, October 8, 2000 at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington with Pastor Herb Wheelock officiating.

RICHARD G. GRAVES SR.
Richard "Rick" G. Graves Sr. of Vassar, died Monday, October 2, 2000 at Caro Community Hospital. He was 49 years of age.
Mr. Graves was born March 14, 1951 in Flint, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Oral and Helen (Coats) Graves. He married Diane Ruperd September 14, 1968. Mr. Graves was employed at Means Industry of Vassar with over 24 years of service and was an assistant Scout Master for five years for Vassar Boy Scout Troop #201. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed motorcycle trips, especially to the Upper Peninsula.
Surviving is his wife of 32 years, Diane of Vassar; and his family, two sons, Richard Jr. and wife Stacy Graves of Mayville, James and wife Lisa Graves of Reese; three grandchildren, Destinee, Caressa, Dylan; one brother, William Graves of Vassar; two sisters, Valerie Graves of Mt. Morris, Melissa and husband Mark Bellisle of North Dakota; six nephews and nieces, Cameron, Chris, Brandi, Teala, Joshua, Jessica; parents, Oral and Gaye Ann Graves of Mayville, Helen and Paul Shaw of Hale; grandmother, Edith Montle of Clio; and numerous other relatives from both sides of the family.
Funeral services were held Thursday, October 5, 2000 from the Martin Funeral Home Clark Chapel, Vassar. Pastor Stebbins officiated with burial at Tuscola Township Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the Lake Huron Area Council Boy Scouts.

EDWARD W. KORTHALS
Mr. Edward W. Korthals of Oxford died on Monday, September 25, 2000. He was 85 years of age.
Mr. Korthals was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church. He retired from Pontiac Motors after 38 years of service and formerly owned the Korland Machine Shop in Rochester Hills and the Pennywick Christmas Tree Plantation in Vassar.
Mr. Korthals is survived by his wife Lucille; children, Virginia Lividotto of Waterford and Dean (Thelma) Korthals of Rochester Hills; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild; brothers, Earhardt and Aldolph Korthals; and sister Helen Gretzinger.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, September 28, 2000 at the Lake Orion Chapel, Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Schultz officiating.

LINDA ANN MUELLER
Linda Ann Mueller of Richville died Thursday, September 21, 2000 at Covenant Medical Center-Cooper. She was 50 years of age.
Mrs. Mueller was born February 14, 1950 in Saginaw, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willis and Beverly (Allen) Miller.
She married William Mueller July 20, 1970 in Flint. She loved her family, which was her whole life.
Surviving are her husband William; four children, Richard Thomas Mueller, Christina Lynn Mueller, Melissa Ann Mueller all of Vassar, Lynnette Andrea Mueller of Richville; four grandchildren, Ryan, Draven, Magdeline, Brock; her parents, Willis and Beverly Miller of Vassar; three brothers, Dave and Cheryl Miller of Lake George, Fred and Barb Miller of Flint, Jim and Jill Miller of Kingston; one sister Joan Kern of Frankenmuth.
Funeral services were held Monday, September 25, 2000 at the Millington Church of the Nazarene with Reverend Edward A. Kile officiating. Burial was at Riverside Cemetery.

MERLE SCHOTT
Mrs. Merle Schott of Vassar died Saturday, September 23, 2000 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Saginaw. She was 86 years of age.
Mrs. Schott was born in Detroit on July 10, 1914 the daughter of Ernest and Marvel Engle. On July 10, 1936 she married Arthur Schott. Together they shared 64 years of marriage. She has been a Vassar resident for the past 55 years and a member of the Vassar First Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Art Schott of Vassar; one son, Robert Schott of Caro; two granddaughters, Jamie and Susan; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Fern Mussnig of Mayville and June Griffon of Caro; as well as her extended family.
The family has honored her wishes and cremation has taken place at Mrs. Schott's request.
Memorials may be directed to the Vassar First Baptist Church.

TONYA J. MCWILLIAMS
Miss Tonya J. McWilliams of Millington, died Monday, September 25, 2000 at Hurley Medical Center in Flint. She was 19 years of age.
Miss McWilliams was born October 9, 1980 in Flint, the daughter of Francis and Mary Kathleen (Florida) McWilliams. She lived in Millington her entire life.
Surviving are her parents, Francis and Mary Kathleen McWilliams; one sister, Theresa McWilliams, at home; aunts and uncles, Ray and Carol McWilliams of Otisville, Roger and Donna McWilliams of Vassar, Mike and Jan McWilliams of Pueblo, Colorado, David McWilliams of Idaho, Gail and Fred Starnes of Millington, Chuck and Linda Florida of Jacksonville, Florida, Willis and Shirley Ware of Sterling, Gert and Gailin Morse of Burton, Don and Tom Florida of Houghton Lake, Connie and Max Rutherford of Gwinn, Sonja and Don Saylor of Royal Oak, Barb and Don Smith of Ohio, Loretta and Larry Henderson of Burton; and many cousins.
Funeral services were held Friday, September 29, 2000 at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington with burial following at the Millington Township Cemetery. Pastor Max McCloud officiated.
