NORMAN EDWARD PETZOLD
Mr. Norman Edward Petzold of Millington, died Tuesday, October 9, 2001 while at the Covenant Medical Center-Harrison campus. He was 81 years of age.
Mr. Petzold was the son of William and Anna (Goetz) Petzold and was born in Arbela Township March 15, 1920. He was a lifelong resident of Millington. On June 6, 1943 he was united in marriage to Anita Keinath and together they have shared 58 years of marriage. He has been a lifelong and at one time a very active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He was employed at the V-8 engine plant of GM and was a UAW member Local #659. He was also a lifelong farmer, farming all his life in the Millington area. He loved to bowl and belonged to many various bowling leagues. He also loved camping and at one time was an active member of the Airstream Camping club.
Surviving is his family, wife, Anita Petzold of Millington; five children, Norman W. and Vera Petzold of Vassar, Bernadine Petzold of Southfield, Carol and Stephen Smith of Empire, Ruth and Ernst Zwack of Frankenmuth, Marlene and Alex Herrera of Florida; his grandchildren, William and Carl Petzold of Vassar, Jace, Blake, Cale and Amanda Herrera of Florida, Tammy Lanham and family; two sisters, Eunice Hoeppner of Saginaw, Leona Griffith of Harrison.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Otto, Walter and Martin.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 13, 2001 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Millington, with the intermenty following at the Millington Township Cemetery. Pastor Tim Bickel officiated.
Memorials may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Arrangements were in the care of Hanlin Funeral Home, Millington.

MYRTLE SENEY-BUSH
Mrs. Myrtle Seney-Bush of Vassar died at her residence on Monday, October 8, 2001. She was 77 years of age.
Mrs. Seney-Bush was born on April 1, 1924 in Vassar and was a life-long resident. She was the daughter of Albert and Edna (Best) Houghtaling. On November 12, 1942 she married Lloyd Seney and he preceded her in death in May of 1992. She later remarried Raymond Bush on September 10, 2001.
Surviving is her family, husband, Raymond; two children and their spouses, Gary and Sally Seney, Faith Jeanette and Bob Heinlein, all of Vassar; four grandchildren, Kendra and Paul Knox, Wendy Seney, Sarah and Tom Reid, Hannah Denniston; five great-grandchildren, Kalin and Mitchell Knox, Jenna and Bradley Guile, and Zachary Denniston.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Roy Houghtaling.
Funeral services were held Thursday, October 11, 2001 at the Hanlin Chapel for Funerals of Vassar with burial following at the Riverside Cemetery in Vassar. Pastor Tim Bender officiated.

KATHERINE ANN HEBERT
Mrs. Katherine Ann Hebert (Irvine) of Vassar, died Wednesday, September 19, 2001 at Covenant Health Care-Harrison in Saginaw. She was 41 years of age.
Mrs. Hebert was born on May 23, 1960 in Wayne County, the daughter of John and Bessie (White) Irvine. On June 27, 1997 she married Todd R. Hebert and together they celebrated four years of marriage. Mrs. Hebert had been employed at McDonald's Restaurant in Vassar for six years. She loved gardening, doing cross stitch, loved being a mother and enjoyed being with friends and family.
Surviving is her family, husband, Todd; three children, Jessica, Adam, Justin, all at home; father and stepmother, John and Lorena Irvine of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee; three brothers, Randy Irvine of El Dorado Hills, California, Tim Irvine of Saginaw, Greg Irvine of California; two sisters, Julie Maurer of Ann Arbor, Jill and husband, Darrell Gumm of Lebanon, Ohio; mother and father-in-law, Leo and Carrie Hebert of Vassar; several nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law; as well as extended family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Bessie in May of 1972.
A Memorial Service was held Wednesday, October 3, 2001 at the Hanlin Chapel for Funerals of Vassar Pastor John Becker officiated.
Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Hope, St. Mary's Oncology Unit or Covenant Oncology Unit.

DONALD S. MORAN
Mr. Donald (Donny) S. Moran of Vassar, died Friday, September 21, 2001 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Saginaw. He was 35 years of age.
Mr. Moran was born on December 8, 1965 in Port Huron, the son of Edward D. and Helen M. (Wilks) Moran.
Surviving are his parents, Edward and Helen Moran of Vassar; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Cheryl and Mark DeMar of Port Huron, Susan and Larry Kurtz of Vassar; four nephews, Ryan, Andrew, Joshua and Alexander.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 25, 2001 at the Hanlin Chapel for Funerals in Vassar with burial following at Riverside Cemetery in Vassar. Pastor Douglas Stockwell officiated.
Memorials may be directed to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or charity of one's choice.

DONNA BAKER
Mrs. Donna R. Baker of Vassar, died Thursday, September 20, 2001 at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was 75 years of age.
Mrs. Baker was born on October 19, 1925 in East Dayton Township, the daughter of Ray C. and Cora (Hodges) Smith. On December 1, 1943 she married Orren Baker and together they celebrated 57 years of marriage.
Mrs. Baker was a cook for the Vassar Public Schools for 28 years, retiring in 1987. She loved to do needlepoint, quilting and crafting.
Surviving is her family, husband, Orren; two children and their spouses, Robert (Bob) and Janet of Vassar, David and Linda of Plainwell; four grandchildren, Kim and husband Brad Jenks of Vassar, Scott and Beth Baker of Ypsilanti, Stacey and Wally Krantz of New York City, Michael and Kara Baker of Reese; three great-grandchildren, Brandon, Dylan, Luke; four sisters, Nettie Curvin, June Terbush, Isabelle Hecht, Leora (Dic) York; one brother, Hugh Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service was held on Monday, September 24, 2001 at the Hanlin Chapel for Funerals in Vassar with Pastor Rick Sheppard officiating.
Memorials may be directed to the Red Cross Disaster Fund.

ELAINE LYNN HENNIG (LENNOX)
Mrs. Elaine Lynn Hennig (Lennox) of Vassar, died Thursday, May 17, 2001 at home. She was 41 years of age.
Mrs. Hennig was born February 7, 1960 in Flint, the daughter of Gerald and Sybil (Harrison) Lennox.
She was raised in Fenton and was a 1978 graduate of Fenton High School. On July 23, 1990 she married Kevin Hennig and together they celebrated 10 years of marriage. She worked as a florist and paramedic most of her adult life. She excelled at arts and crafts work and enjoyed taking pictures. She also spent the last seven years breeding high quality Cocker Spaniels.
Mrs. Hennig was a devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister. She gave herself to help others and had many wonderful memories because of it. She spent the last four years in Vassar in a home in the woods that she dreamed of living in and was an active member of St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Vassar.
She raised three beautiful and gifted children, Amanda, Christopher and Joel Conner. She was a very loving, caring and devoted wife. She was loved by all who knew her and will be sorely missed by her husband, children, family and friends.
Surviving besides her husband, Kevin and children are her parents, Gerald and Sybil Lennox; one brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Connie Lennox; one sister, Jennie Lennox, all of Fenton; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 22, 2001 at St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Vassar with burial following at the Millington Township Cemetery. Pastors James Naumann and James Plocher officiated.
Memorials may be directed to the Elaine Lynn Hennig Memorial Fund.
Arrangements were in the care of Hanlin Chapel for Funerals, Vassar.

ETHA J. KURTH
Mrs. Etha J. Kurth of Vassar, died Thursday, May 17, 2001 at Covenant Health Care-Cooper in Saginaw. She was 83 years of age.
Mrs. Kurth was born August 26, 1917 in Brown City, the daughter of Lee and Bertha (Allen) Morse. Her husband, John Kurth preceded her in death in 1990.
Surviving is her family, a son and his wife, Bud and Sue Morse of Vassar; four grandchildren; and a sister, Ianthe Young of Higgins Lake.
At her request cremation has taken place.
Arrangements were in the care of Hanlin Chapel for Funerals, Vassar.
