EARL R. EATON
Mr. Earl R. Eaton, age 60, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 23, 2005 at 60 years of age. He was born on August 7, 1944 in Flint, Michigan to William W. and Edith (Sherwood) Eaton. Before moving to Mayville he was a resident of Flint. Mr. Eaton retired from General Motors Powertrain in Pontiac and was a member of ASM International. He was also a devoted and active member of First Baptist Church of Vassar where he served his Savior as a Deacon, Financial Secretary and as a Missionary Committee Chairperson. Mr. Eaton was a loving and devoted husband and father.
Surviving family include his wife of 36 year, Leona, three children; Dawn (Frank) Rodriguez of Corunna, Lorraine (Matt) Brown of Fort Worth, Texas, Debbi Bailey of Manton; seven grandchildren, Annette Harris, Zachary Rodriguez, Stephen Gibbs, Christopher Gibbs, Brandy Shagena, Amelia Shagena, Tyler Shagena; his father, William Eaton of Mio; brother and sisters, Lois (Jerry) Grizzle of Hernando, Florida, Prudy (Pat) Monahan of Flint, Bill (Velma) Eaton of Swartz Creek, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Eaton was preceded in death by his mother, Edith J. Eaton.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, January 27, 2005 at First Baptist Church of Vassar with Pastor Douglas Stockwell officiating. Mr. Eaton was buried in the Evergreen Cemetery in Grand Blanc. Those wishing to honor his memory may make a contribution to the First Baptist Church of Vassar or the American Diabetes Foundation.
JACOB J. “JACK” STOCKENAUER
Beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, died early Friday evening, December 9, 2005 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility in Caro at the age of 87. Jacob was born February 20, 1918 in Detroit, son of the late Stephen and Helen (Rbenub) Stockenauer and graduated from Vassar High School in 1937.
Jacob married the former June Schlicht on February 11, 1939 in Angola, Indiana. June predeceased him on July 8, 2001.
Mr. Stockenauer was employed as a Phenol Operator at the Dow Chemical Co. in Midland before enlisting in the United States Army Air Corps. December 13, 1943. While in the service during WWII, he graduated from gunnery school in Kingman, AZ. and Laredo, TX, and later was deployed to England as a waist gunner on a B-17. After receiving his honorable discharge on January 6, 1946, he returned home and was employed at Massoll’s Sales in Reese for several years and later for thirteen years by First Automotive Parts in Saginaw from where he retired in 1978. Mr. Stockenauer was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Reese, ARC, and The American Legion Post #139 in Reese.
Surviving are his five children and their spouses; Lee and Nancy Stockenauer of Manton, Gail and Dale Campbell of Vassar, Jeri-Lou and Ron Poirer, Kim Stockenauer of Caro and Lisa and Ted Gray of Saginaw.
Also surviving are his twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jack was predeceased by his granddaughter Amy Campbell in 1994 and three brothers; Peter, John and Phillip Stockenauer, and his two sisters; Rose Wenzlick and Betty White.
Funeral services were held on December 13, 2005 at the Christ Lutheran Church in Reese. Pastor Tom Senge officiated with burial in the Brookside Cemetery in Fairgrove. Military graveside honors were conducted under the auspices of the Reese American Legion Post #139.

EVELYN M. BOHUNSKY
In loving memory of a wife, mother and grandmother. Evelyn Mae Chopson, born May 28, 1926, died November 27, 2005 at her home in Reese after returning from her Pine Island, Florida home. She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis E. Bohunsky on June 29, 2004.
She was the daughter of John W. and Gertrude E. Chopson who were the parents of nine children. She is survived by her son, Robert Lee; sisters, Edna Mardel Alfeld; Elnora Mary Dudek; brothers and sister-in-law, Jim Paul, John Martin and Maxine Joy Bohunsky; grandchildren, Ryan Louis, Kevin Thomas and Kristy May (Bohunsky) Wilson; great-grandchildren, Julia Ann, Matthew Lee, Kayla May, Krystal Lynn Wilson and Ashley Marie Bohunsky.
In returning to her childhood residence of Warren, Indiana, she will be laid to rest in Reverence at the Woodlawn Cemetery and being present at the great-uncle’s founding of the Methodist Memorial Home for the Aged formerly called the Chopson Home in the early 1900’s.
Growing up as one of nine children during the Great Depression, she was so dramatized by other families and their children having done without the basic needs of development, that later in life she extended a helping hand wherever the need arose.
All in concern for the afflicted by thoughts and associations by her son’s request should direct their heartfelt prayers or financial support to the St. Jude Children’s Research Center for childhood diseases in memory of her concerns at 501 St. Jude Plaza, Memphis Tennessee 38105.
She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten for her unconditional love and undertakings in and outside the family.
JOSHUA DILLON HALPIN
Joshua Dillon Halpin, age 9 months and 25 days, died on December 6, 2005 after struggling with health concerns since birth.
Joshua was born February 11, 2005 in Saginaw, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Matt and Renee (Payea) Halpin. Although his time with us was brief, he became the “Big Boy” of RNICU at Covenant Healthcare, an honorary employee, and was dearly loved by his family, their friends and was in the thoughts and prayers of many. Joshua’s time with us may have been short, but his memory will be everlasting.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Matt and Renee Halpin of Fairgrove; brother, Austin Carter; and grandparents, Clarice Halpin, Cheryl and Bill Payea.
Joshua’s family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at the NEO Natal Unit at Covenant Harrison in Saginaw for the care and compassion shown to them this past year.
Funeral services were held on December 9, 2005 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Pastor Rich Lawther officiated with burial in Calvary Cemetery.

EVAN R. TURNER
Evan R. Turner, age 17 of Vassar died on November 29, 2005.
Evan was born March 30,1988 in Flint, Michigan the son of George Turner and Leann (Berlin) Turner. Evan was a senior at Vassar High School who enjoyed playing basketball and baseball. He had a special love for animals, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Evan leaves to cherish his memory of his mother Leann Turner; father George and wife Debby Turner; sister Elyse Turner; brother Lucas Turner; grandparents Robert and Patricia Berlin; and many special aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Evan was preceded in death by his grandmother Irene Furness, and grandfather James Turner.
Funeral services were held on December 4, 2005, at Chapel Hill Assembly of God. Pastor Patrick England officiated and a private burial took place.
Memorial donations may be considered to a family fund.

GENEVA G. WICKINGS
Geneva G. Wickings of Vassar, age 67, died Friday, January 20, 2006 at Covenant Health Care – Cooper.
Geneva was born January 26, 1938 in Otisville, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Archie and Anna (Engels) Callahan. She attended Vassar Schools. Geneva enjoyed playing cards, especially Euchre, watching the Pistons, playing bingo, watching television and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her children Dan Callahan and JoAnn, Jim and wife Vickie Wickings, Doug Donnelly, Gary Wickings and Melissa, John and wife Kelly Wickings, Larry and wife Tammy Wickings, Susan Wickings all of Vassar; 17 grandchildren;10 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Betty Germain, Floyd Callahan, Edward (Tom) Callahan, Mary Lou Kreil, Evelyn Greer, Robert Callahan, Pat Callahan; numerous nieces and nephews; lifetime friends June Hart and Lola Hayes.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Carol Donnelly; brother Archie; sisters Jannett, Joan and Nancy; great-grandson Hunter Greenleaf.
Funeral services were held on Monday, January 23, 2006 at Martin Funeral Home in Vassar with Rev. Mary Edgington and Rev. Cyril Haines officiating. An Eagles Memorial Service was held on January 22. Burial was at Riverside Cemetery.

VIOLET MARIE ADAMS
Violet Marie Adams, age 70, of Vassar, died Monday, January 2, 2006 at St. Mary’s of Michigan in Saginaw.
Private services will be held.
Mrs. Adams was born December 12, 1935 in North Branch, the daughter of Lewis and Elsie (Morell) Lake. Mrs. Adams was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
She is survived by: husband, Clyde Adams of Vassar; three children, Vicky Lynn (Arteuro) Yrlis, Bryan Adams, Christine Anne (Dean) Johnson; special grandsons, John and Shane Wachowicz; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister, Gladys (George) Sholes. She was preceded in death by: her son, Lewis Clyde Adams; her brothers, Charles Lake and Jack Lake.
