Joanne M. Inman
Joanne M. Inman, age 73 of West Branch, passed away Friday, July 27, at West Branch Regional Medical Center. She had lived in West Branch since 2002 and was formerly of Gladwin.
Joanne is survived by her husband, Richard of West Branch; children Cindy (Jim) Gibbs of West Branch and Richard Inman of Springfield, Ohio; grandchildren Dean Gibbs and Carolyn Gibbs both of West Branch and her brothers, Laurel Davis of Federal Way, Washington, Jerry Davis of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Dan (Judith) Davis of Sanibel Island, Florida.
A private memorial service has been held.

Hudson Ezra Lee Turner
Hudson Ezra Lee Turner, age 5 months, of Vassar died after a courageous battle at Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor on August 2.
Hudson was the son of Luke and Brooke (Hascall) Turner. Surviving besides his parents are his brother Landon; his grandparents George and Deb Turner; Karen and Doug Bey; Lynn Hascall; James Hascall II and fiancé Ashley Schian; three aunts, Elyse Turner, Kasey Bey, Erica Hascall and one uncle, James Hascall III.
He was preceded in death by his uncle, Evan Turner. A funeral service was held at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Vassar with Reverend James Naumann officiating, cremation to follow. Memorial donations may be considered to Luke and Brooke Turner to be used for PCT Unit at Mott Children’s Hospital in honor of Hudson.
Dr. Alexandria “Sandra” (Evenks) Maylou
Dr. Alexandria “Sandra” (Evenks) Maylou of Vassar, age 77, passed away peacefully at home, Friday, June 29. Sandra was born September 28, 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Luke and Anastasia (Mastaler) Evenks.
She graduated from Vassar High School in 1948 and went on to obtain her Ph.D. in Education from Wayne State University. She was a teacher for the Detroit Public School System until her retirement. Sandra had a great zest for life and loved and respected animals, especially her two cats, Junior and Red.
Left to cherish her memory are two nephews and two nieces, Alfred Janos of Vassar; Edward (Shirley) Janos of Vassar; Arlene Bullard of Traverse City; and Susan (Doug) Armbrecht of New York; several great nieces and nephews; Tammy (Bill) McCool of Caro; Alfred (Colleen) Janos of Flushing; Matthew (Wanda) Janos of Sheridan; Stacy Janos of Deford; Phillip Janos of Vassar; George and McKenzie Bullard of Traverse City; and David and Corey Armbrecht of New York.
Her parents, Anastasia Mastaler and Luke Evenks; siblings, Olga Janos and George Mastaler and a sister-in-law, Wanda Mastaler, preceded Sandra in death.
On Thursday, July 5, family and friends came together for an Eagles Memorial Service conducted by the Vassar Eagles Aerie #2380.
Funeral services were held on July 6, at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar; Rev. Fr. Steven Killey officiated with burial following in Riverside Cemetery.
Bonnie J. (Fiers) Rogers
Bonnie J. (Fiers) Rogers, Unionville, formerly of Vassar, died Saturday, July 21, 2007 at Bay Regional Medical Center. Age 69. Bonnie J. Fiers was born Sept. 29, 1937 in Flint, the daughter of Charles Otis and Mary Agnes (Parker) Fiers, and resided in Vassar most of her life.
She married Duane W. (Bud) Rogers January 28, 1956. She was a devoted member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Vassar.
Surviving are her husband Duane, two daughters, Susan K. and Clinton Ransom; Janet and Mark Bates; four grandchildren: Heidi Jean (Brant) Best; Clinton Ransom II; Sarah Bates and Jenny Bates; one great-grandchild, Josie Lynn Best. Also one sister, Ethel and Truman Gilmet. She was preceded in death by two sisters, June Stakolosa and Pauline Fiers.
Funeral Services took place Wednesday, July 25 at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Vassar. Pastor James Plocher officiated with burial in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Luke Lutheran Church or the Diabetes Association.
JOHN STEPHEN ROZINSKI
John Stephen Rozinski, age 79, passed away November 26, at Fisher Convalescent Home in Mayville. He was born on April 15, 1928, in Detroit, the son of Stephen and Sophia (Bedock).
On July 2, 1949 he married Norma T. Chatters. John retired in 1985 from Eaton Manufacturing with 35 years of service. He enjoyed his CB radio, boating, fishing, NASCAR, and baseball.
Surviving family include his wife of 58 years, Norma, children; John (Annette) Rozinski, Shirley Morgan, Gary Rozinski and Laura (Allen) Wittbrodt, grandchildren; Holly Morgan, Madison and Noah Wittbrodt.
Funeral services were held on November 29 at the Penzien-Steele Funeral Home, 149 N. Main St., Vassar. Pastor David G. Somers officiated with burial following at the Riverside Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to the family of John Rozinski.
EDWARD ALLEN KELLER
Edward Allen Keller, 76, of Snover passed away Saturday, June 7, 2008 after a series of extended illnesses including diabetes and cancer at the Marlette Regional Hospital Hospice House in Marlette.
He was born April 11, 1932 in Wauseon, Ohio, the only child of the late Edward Andrew and Gertrude L. (Nia) Keller. He married Mary Alice Davis on April 14, 1951 in Wauseon, Ohio. Mr. Keller has liven in the Marlette-Snover area for 45 years after having moved from Lyons, Ohio in 1963. Mr. Keller worked much of his adult life in foundries the last 30 years before retiring from the Eaton-Grede Foundry in Vassar. He was a member of the Grace Bible Church in Marlette.
He was Santa Claus in and around the Snover and Sandusky area for several years until illness and the loss of his leg prevented him from doing so. He also enjoyed auctions, antiques, making wooden crafts, caring for his lawn, gardening, visiting with friends and most of all his family. He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice; sons, Allen (Sharleen) Keller of Sandusky, Andrew (Cindy) Keller of Marlette and Robert (Dawn) Keller of Hart; daughter, Lou Ann (John) Catlin of Queanbeyan, NSW, Australia; sisters-in-law, Wilma Skiver of Swanton, Ohio and Dorothy Davis of Baltimore, Ohio; grandchildren, Lisa (Jeremy) Nichols, Malia Carl Gravel (Michael), Rodney Keller (Ruth), Christopher Keller (Danyelle), Amy Keller, Amber Keller and Adam (Katie) Keller; eight great-grandsons; and one great-granddaughter; several nieces, nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette with Pastor Mike Hollenbeck officiating. Burial will be in the Mooretown Cemetery in Snover.
Visitation will be held from noon until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Marlette Regional Hospital Extended Care Facility, Marlette Hospice or Grace Bible Church.
PATRICIA ANN FERRIS
Mrs. Patricia Ann Ferris, 53, of Caseville and formerly of Vassar, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 25, 2008 at her home.
She was born on Aug. 14, 1954 in Caro, the daughter of Donald Sr. and Betty (Schell) Carlisle. In July 1999, she married Lee O. Ferris in Caseville. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren, Brianna, Zack, Justin and Lindsay. Patty enjoyed watching NASCAR, fishing, only if she caught one, gardening and just being with friends and family.
Patty will be greatly missed by her husband, Lee; daughters, Terecia (Russ) Tait and Dawn (Randy) Ferris; her brothers and sisters, Don Jr. (Patricia) Carlisle, Gary Carlisle, Chris Callahan, Kathy (Tom) Walstad, Jimmy Carlisle, Tom Carlisle, Brian (Lorri) Carlisle, Sandy Carlisle, Kitty Barbara Carlisle and Gloria Jean Carlisle; and many nieces and nephews.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Sr. and Betty Carlisle; and her brother, Randy Carlisle.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service was held Thursday, May 29, 1008 at the Penzien-Steele Funeral Home, 149 N. Main St., in Vassar.
