FRANK H. OSMOND
Frank H. Osmond, 83, of Vassar and formerly of Saginaw, passed away early Saturday evening, June 21, 2008 at his residence in Vassar.
Frank was born in Saginaw on Dec. 22, 1924 and was the son of William and Margaret (Faye) Osmond. Frank grew up in the Saginaw area and completed high school in Saginaw. After high school, Frank enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during World War II. Frank served proudly under the command of General George Patton of the 1st Armored Division. During his tour of duty, Frank was awarded the Purple Heart. After Frank returned from his tour of duty, he was married Feb. 16, 1946 to Miss Ruth Hoffmann. Ruth preceded him in death in 1998.
Eventually, Frank went to work for General Motors in Plant 6 of Saginaw Steering Gear. Frank retired after 22 years of service with GM. On May 18, 2002, Frank married Winona Williams of Vassar, where he and Winona made their home. Frank and Winona have celebrated six wonderful years together. Frank was also a member of the Carlton VFW Post.
He leaves to cherish his memory his family; wife, Winona; his three children, Cathy and Ed Jutzi, William (Bill) Osmond and Keith and Sue Osmond; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; five step-children, Robert and Janine Williams, David and Nancy Williams, Allan and Holly Williams, Paul Williams and Kari and Jerry Millikin; several step-grandchildren; and two sisters, Eleanor Ziegler and Peggy Hintz.
Frank was preceded in death by a brother Jack, daughter-in-law, Joyce; an infant daughter, Lorrie; and a son-in-law, Tim Brewer.
Funeral Service was held Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at the First Presbyterian Church of Vassar. Pastor John Becker delivered the funeral message and the committal prayers at the cemetery. Burial took place at the Rose Lawn Cemetery in Saginaw.
Memorial Gifts of Remembrance in Frank’s memory can be directed to the Osmond family for a future memorial to be established in Frank’s memory.

Martha J. "Niven" Fry
December 19, 1948 - January 5, 2001
Age 52, of Mt. Morris, died Friday, January 5, 2001 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Monday January 8,2001 from First United Methodist Church of Mt. Morris. Pastor Bob Burkey officiating. Interment in Flint Memorial Park. Family will recieve friends 7-9:00 pm Saturday and 12-9:00 pm Sunday. On Monday, Mrs. Fry will be taken to church to lie in state from 12 noon until the time of services at 1:00 pm. Martha was born December 19, 1948 in Saginaw the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert N. and Norma J. (Sian) Niven. She and Neil Fry were united in marriage on November 3, 1967 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Saginaw. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Mt. Morris, the SpinaBifida Support Group. Martha worked as a teachers aid at Buell Elementery School and was considered a Mother and Grandmother to many. She was a big fan of Elvis Presley, his music gave her comfort. Surviving are her husband: Neil C.; 5 children: Michelle, Sarah and husband Brian Dennis; Jennifer, Neil D. and Rosemary; 7 Grandchildren: Kasey; Brandy; Sabrina; Courtny; Ayla; Travis; Sophia; Parents: Robert and Norma Niven; 3 brothers and 1 sister: David and wife Chantel Niven; Dennis and wife Carol Niven; Rosemary and husband John Gloombisky; Special sister-in-law: Karen Niven; Many special friends and family: Pat Grant; Vera Estep; Marion Shreve; Debbie Westnick; Kathy Jacques; Toni; Numerous Nieces; Nephews; Cousins; Aunts and Uncles. She was preceded in death by her Grandparents Harry and Flossie McCarty, Joseph and Mary Sian.
Herbert L. Metevier
February 19, 1936 - January 2, 2001
Age 64 of Mt. Morris died Tuesday January 2, 2001 at UofM Hospital Ann Arbor. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday from St. Mary Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Raymond Urbanek officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Mr. Metevier will remain at the Miles Martin Funeral Home where friends may call 6-9:00 pm Thursday and 11am - 9pm Friday. Family friends and parish will assemble at the funeral home for a Scripture Wake service at 7:00 pm Friday evening. Saturday morning Mr. Metevier will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until time of funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Herbert was born February 19, 1936 in Cheboygen the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Leon Metevier and Beatrice Mae LaVere- Metevier. He and Carol Inman were united in marriage April 14, 1956. He retired 1991 from Hamady Brothers Super Market with 38.5 years service in management. Surviving are wife: Carol; 3 children: Catherine Genella of Mt. Morris; Kevin and wife Renee Metevier of Mt. Morris; Cynthia and husband Ralph Adkins of Flint; 6 grandchildren: Herb III; Jeremy; Shannon; Tony; Paul; Justin; 2 brothers: Richard Metevier; and Gary Metevier; Mother-in-law: Doris Inman; Aunt: Susie M. Johnson. Several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Herbert L. Metevier Jr., and 2 brothers Leo and Norm.
Clarence Albert Clark

age 85, of Mt. Morris, died Monday January 1, 2001 at his residence. Funeral service will be held 11 am Thursday, January 4, 2001 at Miles Martin Funeral Home. Mr. Vernon Lawrence officiating. Clarence was born September 22, 1915 in Standish, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. William and Mary (Osborn) Clark. Clarence and Irene Loisell were united in marriage May 22, 1948 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Clarence served in the U.S. Army. He worked for Dupont with 32 years of service. Patricia Ann Kinney
July 28, 1938 - January 7, 2001
Age 62, of Mt. Morris died Sunday January 7, 2001 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral Services will be 4pm Wednesday from Miles Martin Funeral Home. Family will receive friends Tuesday 6-9pm and Wednesday 9am - until time of services at 4pm. Born July 28, 1938 in Flint. She retired from A.N.R. Freight with 25 years service as Freight Tracking Clerk. Member of American Legion Red Arrow Post #151 and Voiture 40 et 8 Auxiliaries. Surviving are her 4 children: Bradley and wife Catherine Kinney of Napolean, OH; Annette and husband Kenneth Webb of Flint; Terry and husband Jefferey Dowdall of Colorado Springs, CO; Shannon Kinney and Alan Hicks of Linden. 9 grandchildren: Aaron; Hollie; Kelsey; Melissa; Sarah; Kelli; Kurstin; Kaitlyn; and Jacquelyn. Mother: Zirma Bodag of Mt. Morris. Stepmother: Elizabeth Bodag of Flushing. Brother: John and wife Patti Bodag of Novi. Sister-in-law: Kay Limban of Oakland. Several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Mark Kinney; father Louis Bodag; Stepfather: John Bodag, and brother Joe Limban.
RICHARD PAUL BLASIUS
Richard Paul Blasius. 72, of Vassar died peacefully Monday, Jan. 28, 2008 at his home with family by his side.
Richard was born Oct. 3, 1935 in Caro, the son of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy and Emma (Brady) Blasius. He and Dorothy Levis were united in marriage Sept. 4, 1954. He retired from GM after 30 years of service in skilled trades. Richard was an avid fisherman and hunter who also enjoyed painting and woodcarving.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dorothy; three children, Laura Edwards, Brenda (Dennis) Albrecht and Dave (Sande) Blasius; 12 grandchildren; brothers and sister, Gary (Walene) Blasius, Karyl (Bernie) Young and Terry (Febe) Blasius; and many nieces, nephews and special friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; son, Richard Blasius Jr.; brother, Robert; sister, Sharol Kish; and son-in-law, Mark Edwards.
Funeral Service was held Friday, Feb. 1, 2008 at the Fostoria Baptist Church. Pastor Robert Wall and Pastor Todd Harrison officiated with burial in Riverside Cemetery.

LARUA EDITH KASPER
Laura Edith Kasper, 89, of Vassar passed away Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008 at her residence with her family by her side.
She was born March 17, 1918 in Arbela Township, the daughter of the late Fred and Zora Taylor. Laura married Raymond Kasper on Nov. 5, 1939 and they have been life-long residents of Vassar. Laura had a great love for her grandchildren and working in the garden. She volunteered on cancer drives for many years.
Along with her husband, Laura is survived by her children, Joanne (Jon) Gutek and Gary (Linda) Kasper; grandchildren, Renee (Todd) Aymer, Susie (Steve) Schwinn, Wendy Gutek, Benjamin, Angelyn, Lauren and Allison Kasper; two step-grandchildren, Daniel (Denise) Gutek and Dawn Richards; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Anna Jean Kriseler; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Kasprzyk.
A daughter, Mary Ann Everts, preceded her in death.
Funeral service was held Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008 at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home in Vassar. The Rev. Cyril Haines officiated with burial at Riverside Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
