Mary E. LeDuc
Age 87, of Mt. Morris, died Saturday, March 31, 2001 at the Briarwood Manor. Funeral services will be held 11am Wed. from the St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Raymond Urbanek officiating. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. LeDuc will remain at the Miles Martin Funeral Home where friends may call 6-9pm Monday and 11am-9pm Tuesday. St. Mary Altar Society will assemble at the funeral home 2pm Tuesday to pray the Rosary. Family, friends and parish will gather at the funeral home to pray the Rosary 6:00pm Tuesday evening. Wednesday morning, Mrs. LeDuc will be taken to the church to lie in state from 10am until the time of the funeral Mass at 11:00am Family requests that Mass offerings be considered. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Mary was born April 3, 1913 in Montrose, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward and Cecelia (Ratza) Dowd. She and William LeDuc were united in marriage on May 16, 1935 in Elkhart, Ind. He preceded her in death September 21, 1961. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Altar Society in Mt. Morris, and formerly of SS Charles & Helena Catholic Church in Clio. Mary taught school as a teacher in Clio, St. Mary's, and Kearsley. Surviving are: her son: Tony and wife Esther LeDuc; her daughter: Yvonne and husband Donald Finch; 6 grandchildren: Mark LeDuc; Terri and husband Rick Marlowe; Carol LeDuc; Wendy and husband Donald Allan; Susan and husband Warren Birkenhauer; Christopher and wife Janine Finch; 11 great grandchildren; Brothers and Sisters: Peter and Harriet Dowd; Esther Denny; Anna Herr; Leonard Dowd; Dennis Dowd. She was preceded in death by grandchildren Kirk and Steven LeDuc, sister Ellen Payne and brother Frances Dowd. Mary's family wishes to give Special Thanks to the nursing and aide staff for theirloving care. Another Special Thanks to the chef and and her crew for the many food and menu favors for our mother and for the many kindnesses to her family.
Agnes L. Jupe
Age 76, of Mt. Morris, died Saturday, March 31, 2001 at the Willowbrook Manor. Funeral services will take place 11:00am Tuesday, April 3, 2001 from the Miles Martin Funeral Home. Rev. Anthony Tomasino officiating. Interment in Flint Memorial Park. Family will be present to receive friends on Sunday from 6-9pm, and Monday from 11-2pm and 4-9pm. On Monday evening, family and friends will gather at the funeral home for a memorial service by the Mt. Morris Chapter #474 O.E.S. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may consider memorial donations to the American Diabetes Association. Agnes was born January 9, 1925 in Ann Arbor, Michigan the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Jay and Lorena (Hessam) Smith. She and Dallas Jupe were united in marriage on September 9, 1943 in Mt. Morris. Agnes was a member and past matron of the Mt. Morris O.E.S. #474. Surviving are: her husband, Dallas Jupe, Three children, daughter, Mary and husband Michael Burris, son Jesse Jupe, daughter Donna and husband Randy Tester, Four grandchildren, Eric Burris, Jennifer Burris, Jason Jupe, and Cameron Tester, Three great grandchildren. Nicholas, Jacob and Abigail Burris, Many friends. Her family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Willowbrook Manor and the Davita Dialysis Center.
Marion Z. Knickerbocker
Age 75 of Mt. Morris died Friday March 30, 2001 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday from St. Mary Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Raymond Urbanek and Rev. Fr. Robert McKeon officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Knickerbocker will remain at the Miles Martin Funeral Home where friends may call 6?9:00 pm Saturday and all day Sunday. Sunday afternoon at 2:00 pm the Altar Society will gather at the funeral home to pray the Rosary. Parish and family will assemble at the funeral home Sunday evening for a Scripture service at 7:00 pm. On Monday morning she will be taken to church to lie in state from 10am until time of funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Memorials may be considered for Powers Catholic Central, Mt. Morris St. Marys School, or American Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Marion was born September 9, 1925 Iron Mountain the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard and Coral (Despin) Wagner. She graduated from Flint St. Matthew High School and Nazareth College, Kalamazoo. She accomplished her R.N. at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo and worked for St. Joseph Hospital in Flint where she met and then married Joseph R. Knickerbocker on October 1, 1949 at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Flint. He preceded her in death August 17, 1998. Marion was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Altar Society. Surviving are her 5 children: Deborah and Joseph Serafin of Frankenmuth; Gregory and wife Leslie Knickerbocker of Clio; David and wife Anne Knickerbocker of Jackson; Michael and wife Delynn Knickerbocker of Lapeer; Thomas Knickerbocker of Mt. Morris; 4 grandsons: Joseph Knickerbocker; Patrick Knickerbocker; Christopher Knickerbocker; William Knickerbocker; and Owen Knickerbocker; Brother: B. Patrick. and wife Donna Wagner of California; Sister: Janice and husband Bill Quinn of Ohio; Several nieces and nephews. and numerous special friends.

Age 54 of Flint died Wednesday March 28, 2001 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday March 31, 2001 at Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Shirley was born October 29, 1946 the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert and Dolltene (Coleman) Miller. She enjoyed her family, singing and the beach. survivors include: husband William Hendershott; Sons: James and wife Cheryl Coleman of Mt. Morris; Dennis Coleman of Mt. Morris; Carey and wife Jodi Coleman of Mt. Morris; Larry and wife Michelle Coleman of Flint; Shawn Coleman and fiancé Lisa of Flint; Nick and wife Jennifer Carpenter of Roscommon; Rick Carpenter and fiancé Jessica of Mt. Morris and beautiful daughter Ashley Carpenter of Traverse City; stepchildren: Cynthia and Jerry of Traverse City; brother Hubert Miller and special friend Janet; sister: Betty and husband David Donovan of Virginia Beach, VA.; Bonnie and husband Larry Gerhardt of Clio; Glenda and husband Russell Camp of Walls, Miss.; grandchildren, Joslyn, Marissa, Anthony, Stephen, Danielle, Alicia, Haley, Jessica, Heather, Kayla, Jack, Samantha, and unborn grandson Dakota. Age 73, of Mt. Morris, died Sunday March 25, 2001 at her residence. Funeral Service will take place 1:00 pm Thursday March 29, 2001 at Miles Martin Funeral Home. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home 2-9:00 pm Wednesday. Mrs. West was born August 21, 1927 in Mt. Morris, Twp. the daughter of Mr. and Mrs Elias A. and Eva (Kecker) Alcorn. She married Harold West in 1947. Prior to her retirement she had been employed at Ternstedt Fisher Body for 30 years. She is survived by husband: Harold; 2 brothers and 5 sisters: Elias Alcorn of Harrison; Betty Crandall, Harrriet Keech, Ruth and husband Larry Brock all of Grant, Michigan; Patricia Brock of Bailey, Rosemary and husband Ken Welch of Morley; Dale Alcorn of Grant; She was preceded in death by 1 brother and 1 sister.

Age 78, of Flushing died Saturday March 24, 2001 at Willowbrook Manor. Funeral Service will take place 11:00 a.m. Wed March 28, 2001 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home, Mr. Vernon Lawrence officiating with burial in Mt. Morris Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-9 Monday, 9-9 Tuesday and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Retha was born March 5, 1923 in Flint the daughter of Elbern (Buck) and Josephine (Lawrence) Serven. She married Guy D. Weir December 11, 1942. She had been employed as a Nurses Aide at Flint Osteopathic Hospital and had also done volunteer work there. She was a 1942 graduate of Mt. Morris High School in 1941. Survived by husband: Guy Weir of Flushing; 1 daughter and 1 son Kathleen and Lin Sabin of Flushing; Dale Weir of Fowler, California; 6 grandchildren:Greg and wife Tammy Sabin; Eric and wife Melissa Weir; Heather and husband John Rogers; Melanie and husband Lavaro Eusebio; Nicole Weir; Erica and husband Rob Erhart; and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter Jeanette Davis. A special Thanks to the staff of Willowbrook Manor for the tender and loving care given to her.
Gladys Haufman
Formerly of Fairgrove, age 95 died Saturday March 24, 2001 at Carriage House in Bay City. She was born December 9, 1905 in Fairgrove the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph and Fanny (McAlpine) Campbell. She and Willis L. Haufman were united in marriage on December 17, 1930. He predeceased her January 3, 1992. She was a member of Fairgove Presbyterian Church. Surviving are daughter: JoeAnne and husband Pat Barriger of West Branch; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a Great Grandchild and a Sister. Funeral Service will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday March 27, 2001 at the Martin Funeral Home Clark Chapel in Fairgrove, Rev. Rich Lawther officiating with burial in Brookside Cemetery in Fairgrove.
