Lila H. Wild
Age 65, of Millington, formerly of Flint, died Thursday, June 28, 2001 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will take place 10:00 am Monday, July 2, 2001 from St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Raymond Urbanek officiating with burial in Flint Memorial Park. Family will be present at the Miles Martin Funeral Home to receive friends on Saturday from 6-9:00 pm and on Sunday from 10-3:00 pm and from 5-9:00 pm. On Sunday evening, family, friends and parish will gather for a Rosary at the funeral home at 7:00pm. On Monday morning, Lila will be taken to church to lie in state from 9am until the time of funeral mass at 10:00 am. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions directed towards St. Mary's Church. Lila was born July 29, 1935 in Cheboygan, MI. She was one of eight children born to Frederick C. and Anna H. (Webster) Domke. She and Milton Wild were united in marriage on June 22, 1956 in Cheboygan, MI. Lila was a resident of Flint for 17 years before moving to Millington in 1973 where she has resided since. She loved to make crafts and was very involved in her children's and grandchildren's lives. Surviving are her husband: Milton of Millington; 5 children: Robin and Randy Hardenburg of Swartz Creek; Daniel Wild of Flint; Vicki and Brian O'Neil of Swartz Creek; Shari and John Pichey of Flint Twp.; Nina and Junior Belmarez of Muskegon, MI.; 8 grandchildren: Mary Sue, Jared, Christopher, Joshua, April, Devin, Erica, Krista, 4 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: E.W. Domke of Mancelona, MI.; Alvin Domke of Muskegon, MI.; Ida Strader of Stuart, FL. and Nina Woodworth of Deltona, FL. Several nieces, nephews and cousins. Lila was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Julius, Andy and Ralph Domke, and 2 grandchildren, Shane and Kimberly.
Harry Hardin Holloway
Age 80 of Columbiaville, Went to be with the Lord on Wed. June 27, 2001 Funeral Service will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday July 2, 2001 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home, Pastor Herbert Smith officiating with burial in Mt. Morris Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-9 Friday, 6-9 Sat.12-9 Sunday. Harry was born March 4, 1921 in Mt. Morris the son of William H. and Rosa Ann (Beard) Holloway. Prior to his retirement he had been employed at AC Spark Plug and Buick Motor Co. for 40 years. He is survived by his children: William H. and Sherry L. Holloway of Davison; Brenda Swords of Davison; Patrick and Elly Holloway of Otisville; Michael J. Holloway of Columbiaville ; 4 grandchildren : Adam Swords; Brandi Holloway; Heather Holloway and Caleb Holloway. His former wife: Jean Holloway of Davison; 3 Sisters and 1 Brother: Mary Jane and Fred Smith of Flint; Ilene and Herman Bachman of Mt. Morris; Rosemarie and Dick Serven of Mt. Morris; Leon and Linda Holloway of Clarkston. Many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister Catherine Sweet, 4 brothers: William, Russell, "Red" and Donald Holloway .
Denis R. Bourque
Age 45, of Genesee, died Monday June 25, 2001 at his residence. He fought a 10 year battle with cancer. Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 am Friday June 29, 2001 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with Rev. Fr. Paul Schwermer officiating, burial at Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Miles Martin Funeral Home from 6-9:00 pm Wednesday, and 11-9:00 pm Thursday. Thursday evening at 8:00 pm family, friends and parish will gather to pray the Rosary. Friday morning Denis will be taken to the church to lie in state from 10:00 am until the time of service. If desired memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church or Hurly Hospice, envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Denis was born November 17, 1955 in Port Huron the son of Mr. And Mrs. Joseph Jean Noel Roger and Esther Julia (Bouvet) Bourque. Denis and Teresa O'Brien were united in marriage October 25, 1991 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. He was employed as a registered nurse at Hurley Medical Center. Denis served in the United States Marine Corps. Denis learned to swim and joined the Flint Northern Swim Team, lettering for 3 years. He graduated from Flint Northern and was a graduate of Hurley School of Nursing. He coached at Flint Swim and Racket Club and Flint Northern Swim Team. Denis enjoyed collecting baseball memorabilia especially the Brooklyn Dodgers. He was a avid antique collector. He truly enjoyed buying presents for others. Survivors include his wife: Teresa; 3 children: Mathieu of Cheboygan; Emilie and Abigail at home; brother: Paul and wife Sue Bourque; sisters: Julie Bourque and Alice and husband Brian Fitzgerald; parents: John and Esther Bourque; sister-in-laws: Annette O'Brien; Virginia O'Brien; brother-in-laws: Tim and wife Beth O'Brien; Aaron and wife Mary O'Brien; Andy and wife Heather O'Brien; Kevin and wife Jennifer O'Brien; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Donald L. Smith
Age 68 of Genesee, died Sunday June 24, 2001 at his residence. Funeral Services will take place 2:00 pm Friday June 29, 2001 from the Miles Martin Funeral Home. Rev. Ervin Saultman will officiate with burial in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-9:00 pm Thursday and on Friday from 9:00 am until time of service. Welfare Masonic Lodge will conduct a Memorial Service at 7:00 pm Thursday evening at the funeral home. Don was born September 9, 1932 in Flint the son of Mr. And Mrs. Henry and Margaret (Ulman) Smith. Prior to his retirement he had been employed with AC Rochester for 32 years. He was a member and Past Master of Welfare Lodge 517. He is survived by 2 brothers and 4 sisters: Charles Smith of Burton; Arthur Smith of Fenton; Anita Cudney of Marlette; Carol Hoskey of Flint; Janice Henderson of Houston, Texas; Joyce Vavro of Swartz Creek. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Marshall J. "Cobb" Standerfer
Age 87, formerly of Mt. Morris, died Thursday, June 21, 2001 at St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba, Michigan after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, June 25, 2001 from the Miles Martin Funeral Home. Pastor Richard Cook officiating. Burial in Mt. Morris Cemetery. Family will be present at the funeral home from 12-noon until 9:00 pm to receive friends on Sunday. Marshall was a member of Local 599 and he worked at Buick Motor as a Millwright For 40 years. He retired in March of 1977. He is preceded in death by Helen, his beloved wife of 50 years. He is survived by his sons, Philip, of Gladstone, MI., Michael and Nancy, of Mt. Morris, MI, David and wife Audrey of Kenai, Alaska, and daughter Kathleen and husband Max Howard of Gladstone, MI. He is also survived by his grandchildren Mary and husband Gary Oakley, Bruce and wife Cheryl Dykes, Erik and wife Alicia Standerfer, Jeannie, Kelly, Ben and Jon Standerfer and his great-grandchildren Kali and Bryce Dykes. Cobb quit school at an early age but his love of reading made him a very well educated man. He loved wood working, gardening, watching golf and spending time with his family. He loved music and laughter and the sounds of his grandchildren's voices. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
Joan Elaine Zinn
Age 61 of Mt. Morris, loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother died Sunday June 17, 2001 at her residence. Funeral Service will take place 2:00p.m. Wed. June 20, 2001 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Zinn Family. Joan was born December 30, 1939 in Flint the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Rita Kelly. She and George Zinn were united in marriage January 14, 1955. She was a member of the Church of Christ on Arbella Rd. She enjoyed playing bingo, yahtzee, and cards with family and friends. She also enjoyed playing the machines at Gillies. Many people also knew her as the "Carpet Lady". She and her husband George raised four foster children: Leo and Connie Stuck, Randy Klamert, and Cathy Bacca She is survived by husband George 3 children: George Zinn Jr. and wife Sherry of Mt. Morris; Susan McNeal and husband Danny of Huntington, Indiana; Douglas Zinn and wife Aime of Burton; Grandchildren: George Zinn III, Michael Zinn, Mandy Heagy, Misty McNeal, Christopher Reinard, Jeremy Reinard, April Reinard, Nicole Zinn, Joshua Zinn, Sarah Zinn; Great grandchildren: Alexandria and Paige Heagy. Brothers and sisters: sister-in-law Brenda Kelly of Mt. Morris; Dick and Peggy Kelly of Riverside, California; Carol and Harry Bain of Loveland, Colo.; David and Peggy Kelly of Rochester Hills, Michigan; Jean and Dave Vaughan of Flint; Donnie and Sarah Kelly of Flint; Bobby and Cheryl Kelly of Flint; Kathy and Bill Rider of Flippin, Ark.; Coreen Eargood of Flint; Claudette and Gary Dantzer of North Carolina. Edward C. Selleck
Age 85, of Akron, died Friday June 15, 2001 at Briarwood Manor in Flint. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday June 18, 2001 at Miles Martin Funeral Home, Mr. Vernon Lawrence officiating, with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park. Family will be present at the funeral home 6-9:00 pm Saturday, 1-4:00 pm and 6-9:00 pm Sunday. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimers Association. . Edward was born June 11, 1916 the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry and Edna (Maxfield) Selleck in Richfield Township. He was a diesel mechanic working for Lefler Gravel Company and the Genesee County Road Commission with 35 years of service. Edward married Sigvulda Burgess November 14, 1947 in Napolean, Ohio. survivors include: wife: Sigvulda; 3 children: Gerald and wife Ruth Ann Selleck of Fife Lake, MI.; Vivian and husband Loran Hart of Genesee, MI.; Kathleen and husband Dale Martin of Flint; 10 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Marjorie Snider of Flint; Jean Adle of Mt. Morris; 2 brothers: Max Selleck of Flint; Vernon Selleck of Mt. Morris; son in law: Garry Powers of Lapeer. He was preceeded in death by daughter Loretta Powers, parents, 3 brothers, and 1 sister.
