Rose M. Karp
Rose M. Karp, 67 of Reese, died Monday evening, May 22, 2006 at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born on February 15, 1939 in Munger, daughter of Angeline (Dolley) DuRussel and the late Arthur DuRussel. She attended Reese High School, graduating in 1958. The former Rose M. DuRussel married James Karp on March 3, 1962 at St. Norbert’s Catholic Church in Munger. She had worked for Agrico Chemical Company and then later at Zehnder’s of Frankenmuth. Rose was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. She was an avid bowler, loved playing euchre and poker, attending Reese High School community events and enjoyed spending time with her family at their cottage in Houghton Lake. Surviving in addition to her husband Jim of 44 years and mother Angeline are her two sons and their spouses, Lyle and Amy Karp of Holland, Gary and Tammy Karp of Marquette; grandchildren Hannah, Chloe, Kameron and Kaycee; sisters and brothers, Mary Ann and Jack Gravlin of Bay City, Lois Szekely of Saginaw, Art and Florine DuRussel of Saginaw, Dale and Rosann DuRussel of Vassar, Floyd and Mary DuRussel of Hemlock, Angie and Eugene Solgat of Fairgrove, Nancy and Ward Swartz of Millington, Ben and Sue DuRussel of Munger; sister-in-law, Rita DuRussel of Munger, brother-in-law, Harold Beyerlein of Reese; brother-in-law, Dale and Sue Karp of Caro and many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her dad Arthur, Sisters Ruth DuRussel, Evelyn Beyerlein and Brother Bob DuRussel all Predeceased Rose.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 26, 2006 from St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Father Bill Gruden will officiate with burial in St. Elizabeth Cemetery.
Rose’s family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw Street, Reese on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m., Thursday 2-8 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. A Christian Vigil service will take place at 7:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Lisa Jean Younk
Lisa Jean Younk, 44 of Reese died Monday morning, May 8, 2006 at her home. She was born on May 12, 1961 in Bay City, daughter of Richard and Donna (Redwantz) Eymer. Lisa attended schools in Reese, graduating from Reese High School in 1979. She married Robert David Younk Jr. on April 23, 1982. Surviving besides her husband and parents, are her three children, Joshua Richard Younk, Rebecca Lydia-Ann Younk, Daniel Timothy Younk all of Reese, four sisters and their spouses, Ann Falherty of Saginaw, Tammie & Daniel Johnson of Reese, Kristie & Scott Ross of Saginaw, Kathie and Gary Dolmar of Reese. Lisa was predeceased by an infant son, Robert David Younk III.
Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 11, 2006 from the Frankenmuth Bible Church. Pastor David Krick will officiate. Private burial will take place in Denmark Township Cemetery.
Lisa’s family will receive friends at the Munger Community Bible Church on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.

Wilbert A. Schroeder
Wilbert A. Schroeder of Frankenmuth, died unexpectedly Thursday evening, May 4, 2006 at Covenant Health Care in Saginaw. Age 78 years. He was born January 28, 1928 in Denmark Township, Tuscola County, son of the late Herman and Lorna (Gugel) Schroeder and served with the U.S Army during the Korean War. On April 15, 1961, he was married to the former Barbara Clarke in Richville. She survives him. Mr. Schroeder was employed at Weber Lumber in Richville for over 45 years retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Frankentrost and was also a member of the Alvin F. Miller American Legion Post #400 in Richville. Wilbert was an avid Detroit Tiger baseball fan, enjoyed bowling, playing cards, in his younger years enjoyed playing baseball and he especially enjoyed being with his grandchildren. Surviving besides his wife Barbara are his children and their spouses; Glenn and Rene Schroeder of Vassar, Steven and Laura Schroeder of Bridgeport and Laura Schroeder of Bridgeport, six grandchildren; Paige Smith, Steven, Allison, and Roxanne Schroeder, Jared Schroeder and Angela Withers. Also surviving is his brother Melvin Schroeder of Vassar and his sister Elsie Marx of Reese. In addition to his parents, Wilbert was predeceased by his step-mother Ella Schroeder-Zwerk and his sister Arlene Zwerk.
Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 8, 2006 from the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Frankentrost. Rev. Mark Loest will officiate with burial to follow in the Eastlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Saginaw. Military graveside honors will be presented by the Alvin F. Miller American Legion Post #400 and the U.S. Army.

Lydia V. (Redwanz) Lee
Lydia V. (Redwanz) Lee, of St. Louis, formerly of Reese, died early Thursday morning, April 27, 2006 at the Pine Ridge Health Care Center in St. Louis, Michigan. Age 85 Years. She was born May 2, 1920 in Reese, daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Wicke) Redwanz, was raised by her late paternal aunt and uncle, Amelia (Redwanz) and Ruben Peters, and was a graduate of Bay City Central High School in 1937. In her younger years, Lydia was employed by the American Greeting Card Company in Cleveland, Ohio as an Illustrator and later was employed for over twenty years as a Supervisor with ALOR Industries, (now Scott-Fetzer), a manufacturer of small components for oxygen regulators used in the airline industry. She was a former member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Reese. Surviving is her sister-in-law; Alice (Nickel) Redwanz of Reese, her niece; Evelyn (Redwanz) Reinke of Novi, three nephews and their spouses; Edward and Janet Redwanz, John and Linda Redwanz, and Albert and Jackie Redwanz, all of Reese, seven grand nieces and nephews, ten great-grand nephews and nieces and her cousin Bruce Peters of Titusville, Florida. In addition to her parents, Lydia was predeceased by her brother Ezra Redwanz.
Honoring Lydia’s wishes cremation has taken place and a service celebrating her life will take place at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2006 from the Christ Lutheran Church in Reese with Rev. Tom Senge officiating.
Lydia’s family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 2:30 a.m. until time of services. Her remains have been interred in the Denmark Township Cemetery in Reese.

Maria Schmidt
Maria Schmidt, of Saginaw, died early Tuesday morning, April 25, 2006 at her residence. Age 72 years. She was born February 1, 1934 in San Marcos, Texas, daughter of the late Jesus and Hilaria (Martinez) Espinosa. On September 3, 1953 she was married to Oscar William Schmidt in Texas. He predeceased her September 16, 2001. Mrs. Schmidt was employed by the Reese Public Schools as a Teachers Aid in the summer migrant program for many years and later worked for over ten years with the Salvation Army “Kids Korner” Day Care Center in Saginaw. She was a member of the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Reese and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and crocheting. Surviving are her children and their spouses; Michael and Lorrie Kay Schmidt of Saginaw, Oscar J. and Linda L. Schmidt of Vassar and Tina Marie Schmidt-Perrine and her husband Albert of Saginaw, three grandchildren; Tony Schmidt and his wife Dana of Mayville, David Schmidt and his special friend Keeley Bauer of Vassar and Monica Schmidt and her special friend Larry McGrandy, and her two great-grandchildren; Hannah Schmidt and MacKenzie Schmidt. Also surviving are her sisters and brothers; Frank Espinosa, Alfredo Espinosa and his wife Ellie, Dora Garcia, and Terry Vargas and her husband Mario, all of Kenosha, Wisconsin. In addition to her parents and husband, Maria was predeceased by her brother Jesse Espinosa and three infant siblings.

Schlink Willman, Alma, A.
Reese, Michigan
Alma A. Willman Schlink 97 of Reese died early Sunday morning, June 11, 2006 at the Lutheran Home of Frankenmuth. She was born on July 3, 1908 in Saginaw, daughter of the late Christian and Amelia (Stoker) Fischer. She married Walter E. Willman on July 25, 1925 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Saginaw. He predeceased her on May 8, 1972. She later married William Schlink in 1984; he predeceased her on December 12, 1989. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Surviving are two sons and two daughters, Donald (Shirley) Willman of Bay City, Gerald (Patsy) Willman of Wasilla, Alaska, Lillian Pahssen of Reese, Lois (Robert) Hodgson of Lapeer; daughter-in-law, Leona Willman of Reese; 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and one sister, Ruth Hilbrandt of Saginaw. Alma was predeceased by her son Robert Willman, grandson, Dennis Willman, great grandson, John Paul Kirchhofer, daughter-in-law, Maryann Willman; sons-in-law William “Red” Pahssen, Roger Gilmore, two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral and committal services will take place at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 14, 2006 from the Trinity Lutheran Church. Rev. Matthew Garred will officiate with burial in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.

Stella A. Lindow
Stella Ann Lindow, 84 of Reese, died peacefully Wednesday November 9, 2005 at home. She was born on June 2, 1921 in Bay City, daughter of the late George and Anna (Stobel) Jurkiewicz. She married John Lindow on September 26, 1940; he predeceased her on September 12, 1989. Stella was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Reese and was known for her beautiful smile, her love for the outdoors, fishing, gardening and touring her yard in her golf cart. Surviving are her sons, Ted Lindow, Robert (Carol) Lindow; daughters, June (Richard) Schramke and Jeanne (Charles) Rogers; 14 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; one brother, George Jurkiewicz and one sister, Sophie Ratynsky. In addition to her husband John, one daughter Sandra Langley predeceased her on February 13, 2002.
A Graveside committal service will take place on her birthday at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 2, 2006 at the Denmark Cemetery in Reese. A luncheon will follow at Christ Lutheran Church.
