Mary Ann VanKerckhove
Services for Mary Ann VanKerckhove, 54, of Plymouth were held Aug. 27 at Neely-Turowski Funeral Home with the Rev. Timothy Sullivan officiating. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Mrs. VanKerckhove was born Jan. 11, 1948 in Detroit and died Aug. 23 in Detroit. She was a teacher.
Survivors include husband, Alan; sons, Michael, Stephen, David, and Mark; and brothers, Charlie (Diane) Beauchamp and Richard Beauchamp.

Merlyn L. Evans
Services for Merlyn Evans, 85, of Canton were held Aug. 27 at Herbert Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug MaGinn officiating. Burial is at Oak Grove Cemetery in Manistee.
Mr. Evans was born Aug. 15, 1917 in Aredale, Michigan Bell in 1980 after 25 years as a Yellow Pages salesman. He was a member of the American Legion, Post #32, VFW in Plymouth and DAV in Livonia.
Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his son, David Jackson.
Survivors include wife, Isabelle Jackson of Plymouth; son, Robert Jackson of Minneapolis, Minn.; daughters, Susan Jackson of East Lansing and Jill Jackson of St. Helena, Calif.; grandsons, Nathaniel Jackson and Hans Jackson; and granddaughters, Rebekka Jackson and Katherine Jackson.

Robert "Bob" W. Doane
A committal service for Robert Doane, 67, of Belleville will be held Aug. 30 at Hillside Cemetery in Belleville.
Robert was born on Oct. 19, 1934 in Belleville and died Aug. 18 in Belleville. He was a lifelong resident of Belleville. He attended the Belleville schools and graduated from Belleville High School, class of 1952. He has been involved in genealogy and family histories since 1967. Robert is a member of the Doane Family Association of America, Society of Mayflower Decedents in Michigan, National Trust for Historical Preservation, National Historical Society, Honorary Grand Marshall of the 2001 Strawberry Festival, member of the Belleville Moose, Belleville Cemetery committee member. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Mr. Doane was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Henry Doane, sister, Lillian Mae Doane, brother, Roy Wesley Doane, and Mary Caroline Bullock.
Survivors include brothers, Earl (Phyllis) Doane of Florida with her husband. They returned to the Plymouth community in 1988.
Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence.
Survivors include daughters, Ival (Philip) Lang of Plymouth, and Susan (Bill) Grady of Canton; son, Jim (Debbie) Cox of Milford; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Paul Edwin Smith
Services for Paul Smith, 93, of Plymouth were held July 22 at St. Catherines of Sienna Catholic Church in Toledo, Michigan University in 1950, he taught wood shop and welding at Plymouth High School. He led the boys track team to regional and state championships as their head coach for 17 years. His positive influence on so many young men's lives is a legacy which will live on beyond his years. After receiving a master of arts degree from the University of Colo., Lizbeth Hodson of Graham, N.C. and Jennifer Gurny of Plymouth; son, William F. Ruland of Hudson, Fla.; mother, Mary Elizabeth Ruland, 98 of Doylestown, Penn.; sisters, Mary Reckner, Shirley Gamauf, and Dolores Springsteen, all of Doylestown, Penn.; 15 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Citrus County.

Robert Joseph Kos
Services for Robert Kos, 66, of Plymouth were held July 19 at the Vermeulen Funeral Home with Rev. D.J. West officiating. Burial was at Acacia Park Cemetery in Beverly Hills.
Mr. Kos was born Feb. 2, 1936 in Detroit and died July 15 in Plymouth. He lived in Plymouth for the past 13 years, after spending several years in Charlotte, N.C. and Atlanta, Ga. He received his bachelor of arts degree from the University of Detroit. He retired from the Ford Motor Company, where he was an accountant. Mr. Kos enjoyed reading and travel, as well as home rebuilding and remodeling. He was the proud father of four children and six grandchildren.
Survivors include wife, Betty P. Phillips of Plymouth; sons, Philip M. (Kathy) Kos of Livonia, Jeffrey M. (Sheryl) Phillips of Plymouth, and Mark R. (Julie) Phillips of Redford; daughter, Lynn M. (John) Thiry of Whitmore Lake; brothers, Leonard Kos of Los Angeles, Richard Kos of Southgate; sisters, Theresa Kos of Los Angeles and Valerie Routin; granddaughters, Heidi Phillips of Plymouth and Michele Kos of Livonia; grandsons, Jeffry, Brett and Benjamin Phillips of Plymouth, and Daniel Phillips of Redford; and several nieces and nephews.
