PATRICK ERRETT WELCH
Services for Patrick Welch, 77 of Canton will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, July 14 at the Plymouth Community Arts Council, 774 Sheldon, Plymouth.
Retired professor Dr. Patrick Welch passed on Saturday, June 29 at his home in Canton. Born in Ohio State University in 1958 with a dissertation about TV Quiz Shows. It was approved only two months before the scandals about game-fixing broke out. After 20 years at the University of Houston, including serving as chairman of the mass communications department, and a decade at the University of Michigan in 1980 to teach at Wayne State University. He also taught at Eastern Calif., Catherine (Lee) Summers of Portland, Jennie (John) Eggers of Houston, Nebraska where he grew up as one of twelve children. He enjoyed woodworking, coin collecting, and gardening. He liked to make pine-cone wreaths and traveling from the east coast to the west coast. He was a great handyman and enjoyed being a "jack of all trades."
Survivors include wife, Harriet of Plymouth; children, Gene (Misako) Hotchkin of Las Vegas, Nev.; Jerry (Lois) Hotchkin of Plymouth, and Janet (Richard) Blaesing of Westland; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to The First United Methodist Church in Plymouth.

DOUGLAS ARTHUR DUNCAN
Services for Douglas Duncan, 60, of Plymouth Township were held July 3 at L.J. Griffin Funeral Home, Canton Chapel. Burial was at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.
Mr. Duncan was born March 13, 1942 in Detroit and died June 28 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. He worked with tool and die in the manufacturing industry.
Survivors include mother, Mildred Duncan; daughter, Dina (Christopher) McCanney; daughter, Darlene (Randy) Blausey; daughter, Debra Parker; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

CORA LEE JASINSKI
Services for Cora Jasinski, 85, of Plymouth were held in Michigan Club" in Flaorida, T.O.P.S. (Take Off Pounds Sensibly), and she was very active in her church in Fla. She loved to cook, garden and travel.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Edward.
Survivors include daughter, Jeanette Piwonski of Plymouth; son, Steven Jasinski of Oklahoma City, Okla.; brother, Walter Bragg of Texas, John Jasinski of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Steven Jasinski of Ft. Worth, Woods in Woodhaven.
Mr. Kolb was born April 30, 1930 in Rochester, New York state. He served proudly in the Air Force from 1948 to 1952. In 1969, Mr. Kolb and his family moved to the Plymouth/Canton area where they resided for 30 years. He worked for Burroughs of Plymouth and Sycor/Northern Telecom of Ann Arbor.
Survivors include wife, Jo; children, Paul Kolb and Candace Smith, John (Susan) Kolb, Margaret (Rick) Schrock, Mary Nichols and Albert Smith, David Kolb, Catherine (David) LaVasseur, George Kolb, Edwin (Monika) Kolb, and Barbara Kolb-Linebarger; grandchildren, Faith, Matthew and Andrew Kolb, Michael and Kristina Kolb, Jonathan, Daniel, Laura and Benjamin Schrock, Brittany Nichols, David and Heather Kolb, Adam LaVasseur, Michael, Joseph, David, John, and James Kolb, Sarkis, and Amber Linebarger; and brother, William Kolb of Tonawanda, Ohio and died June 27 in Canton. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include husband, Richard Noetzel; and daughters, Kara and Vanessa Jones.

DONALD F. TAPPAN
Services for Donald F. Tappan, 76 of Plymouth will be held July 1 at St. Kenneth Catholic Church with burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Mr. Tappan died June 26.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine and daughter, Janette Madsen.
Survivors include daughter, Nancy (Russ) Welch; daughter, Patricia (Charles) Curmi; son, Donald Jr. (Rosemary); grandchildren, Gregory (Inas), Laura, Kimberly, Tricia, Daniel, Elizabeth, Catherine, Donald III, Christine, Carolyn, and Alicia; step-grandchildren, Brian (Mary), and Mark (Kelley); brother, Keith; brother-in-law, uncle and friend.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or Angela Hospice.

ELAINE B. CHANDLER
Services for Elaine Chandler, 65, of Livonia (formerly of Plymouth) were held June 22 at St. Colette Catholic Church in Livonia with the Rev. Henry W. Roodbeen officiating. Burial was at Riverside Cemetery in Plymouth.
Mrs. Chandler was born Nov. 4, 1936 in Detroit and died June 18 in Ann Arbor. She was a legal secretary/administrator for the law office of Charles W. Chandler. She had previously been employed with American Motors Corporation. She was a member of St. Colette Catholic Church.
Survivors include husband, Charles M. Chandler of Livonia; son, Charles M. Chandler of Livonia; daughters Catherine (William) Burge of London, England and Carrie (James) O'Meara of Howell; and brothers Jerome Jezewski of Livonia and Dennis (Scott) of St. Clair Shores.

Services for Angelina Dillon, 5 months, of Canton were held June 22 at Uht Funeral Home in Westland with burial at Glenwood Cemetery in Wayne.
Angelina was born Jan. 16, 2002 and died June 18 in Canton.
Survivors include mother, Tara Toupin; stepfather, Jeff Stewart; brothers, Jesse and Jacob; grandmother, Kathy Dillon; step-grandmother, Kim Hubbard; step-grandfather, Frank Salter; and grandfather, Robert Toupin.

DONALD W. HILL
Services for Donald Hill, 62, of Canton Township were held June 22 at L.J. Griffin Funeral Home Westland Chapel.
Mr. Hill was born Jan. 25, 1940 in Detroit and died June 19 in Garden City. He was a truck driver for a food distribution company in Westland.
Survivors include wife, Judith J.; sons, Michael W. and Spencer D.; step-sons Brian K. Teneyck, Lee S. (Ann) Teneyck and Jay C. Teneyck; and nine grandchildren.

JOHN "BUZZY" ZANDER
Services for John Zander, 62, of Plymouth were held June 21 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with the Rev. David Brock officiating. Burial was at Salem-Walker Cemetery in Salem Township.
Mr. Zander was born Aug. 24, 1939 in Croatia, Yugoslavia and died June 19 in Plymouth. He was a retired tool and die maker. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Blaz Zander.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Zander of Plymouth; daughters, Laura Zander of Westland and Nancy Zander of Westland; mother, Mary Zander of Salem Township; sister, Violet (Leonard) Basnec of Northville; brothers Branko (Milka) Zander of Novi and Nick (Mariann) Zander of Brighton; and grandchildren, Terry, Shawn, Andrew, Matthew and Colinda.

LESTER JOHN CARR
Services for Lester Carr, 63, of Canton were held June 21 at Vermeulen Funeral Home with the Rev. Drex Morton officiating.
Mr. Carr was born Aug. 13, 1938 in Detroit and died June 18 in Canton. He was employed as a design engineer. He was a member of St. Michael Lutheran Church.
Survivors include wife, Judi A. Carr of Canton; daughter, Renee (Robert) Bright of Los Angeles, Calif.; granddaughter, Lynette Witte; and grandson, Michael Witte.
