JULIA B. FORCE
Services for Julia B. Force, 85, of Farmington Hills, will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 1 at St. Kenneth Catholic Church in Plymouth with burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. today, May 30 and 1-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Friday, May 31 at Fred Wood Funeral Home in Livonia.
Mrs. Force died May 26, 2002 at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills. She worked as a department store fashion coordinator.
She is survived by her sons, James and Gerard; two brothers; and six grandchildren.
JOHN DUVAL JR.
Services for John "Jack" Duval Jr., 78, of Farmington, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 31 at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home in Farmington with visitation 2-8 p.m. today. Burial will take place at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia.
Mr. Duval was born Aug. 9, 1923 in Battle Creek and died May 28, 2002 in Farmington. He worked as an engineer for Robert Shaw Mechanical Controls and also worked for Johnson Controls and Clawson Concrete. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of the NRA. He was also a member of the 1255th Combat Eng. Association and the Multi-Lakes Conservation Club.
He is survived by his sons, John (Robin), Michael (Lisa) and Patrick (Sara); daughters, Kathryn (Ed) Wangler and Janet (Michael) Hack; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Beverly.

RICHARD E. SMITH
Services for Richard Ernest Smith, 74, of Farmington, were held May 18 at North Congregational Church in Farmington Hills with the Rev. Mark Jensen officiating.
Mr. Smith was born Oct. 24, 1927 in Detroit and died May 15, 2002 at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. He worked as a sergeant-detective for the Detroit Police Department for 25 years and was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of the Detroit Police Officers Association and the Lieutenants/Sergeants Association.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores; sons, John and Tim; daughters, Patricia (Jack) Hamilton, Linda (Dennis) Bidwell and Carolyn (Paul) Schmidhauer; and grandchildren, Heather, Dawn, Kristen, Jillian, Summer, Emma, James and Nicolas.

Services for Mary L. Cunningham, 89, of Livonia, were held May 18 at St. Gerald Catholic Church in Farmington with the Rev. Gerald McEnhill officiating. Burial took place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.
Mrs. Cunningham was born Aug. 15, 1912 in Springfield, Ohio and died May 16, 2002 at Marywood Nursing Center in Livonia. She attended Wayne University now known as Wayne State.
She is survived by her sons, James (Gloria) and Dennis (Ellen); grandchildren, Beth, Jim, Laura, Catherine and Cheryl; and great-grandchildren, Ashley and Donnell. She is preceded in death by her husband, William.

BEATRICE E. SCHUMACHER
Services for Beatrice E. Schumacher, 79, formerly of Farmington, were held May 20 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Farmington.
Mrs. Schumacher was born Aug. 19, 1922 in Toronto, Canada and died May 16, 2002. She was an excellent cook and baker of renowned chocolate chip cookies.
She is survived by her son, Kurt (Sue); grandchildren Julie (Dennis Cotton), Kyle and Jay; sister, Merle; brothers, Ron (Arlene), Bob (Alice) and Bill (Nancy); and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Frank; son, Mark; sister, Dorothy; and brothers, Jack, Alan and Gordon.

ANNA R. BENEDICT
Services for Anna Rosing Benedict, 97, of Farmington Hills, were held May 21 at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home in Farmington with the Rev. Larry Austin officiating. Burial took place at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy.
Mrs. Benedict was born Nov. 18, 1904 in Clear Creek, Utah and died May 18, 2002 at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills. She worked as an LPN at Grace Hospital until her retirement and also worked as a school teacher in Kansas when she was young. She enjoyed attending senior citizen dances and loved music.
She is survived by her son John (Marge); daughter, Janet (Jim Hayes) Benedict; five grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband John.
JUNE I. HOBBS
Services for June Isabelle Hobbs, 82, of Livonia, were held May 22 at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home in Farmington with the Rev. Geoffrey Hobbs officiating.
Mrs. Hobbs was born Jan. 22, 1920 in London, Ontario, Canada and died May 19, 2002 at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills. She was a member of St. Edith Senior Citizens at Newburgh Village.
She is survived by her son, Robert (Diane); daughter, Jan (Geoffrey) McKay; brother, Barry Smith; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Maurice.

Services for Magdalena Straky, 92, of Farmington, will be held 2 p.m. Sunday June 2 at Nardin Park United Methodist Church in Farmington Hills.
Mrs. Straky was born Jan. 17, 1910 in Wyandotte and died May 14, 2002 in Farmington. She was a homemaker and member of Nardin Park United Methodist Church in Farmington Hills.
She is survived by her husband, John; son, Fred; daughter, Nancy; sister, Eva Brown; and grandchildren, Patrick Straky and Amanda Straky-Carlson.

Services for Robert Francis Lentes, 70, of Farmington Hills, were held May 18 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Farmington with the Rev. Robert LaCroix officiating. Burial took place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.
Mr. Lentes was born Feb. 11, 1932 in Detroit and died May 14, 2002 in Farmington Hills. He was a teacher for Livonia Public Schools for 30 years. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Detroit-Mercy and his master's degree from Wayne State University. He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Farmington.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; sons, Robert, Raymond and Erich; and daughter, Christine Lentes.

HENRY J. BURR
Services for Henry Jay Burr, 73, of Westland, were held May 17 at Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home in Farmington with the Rev. James Wright officiating. Burial took place at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Burr was born Dec. 16, 1928 in Detroit and died May 15, 2002 in Westland. He worked in construction.
He is survived by his sons, Joseph and Mark; daughters, Elizabeth Burr, Susan Lundgreen and Laura Burr; grandchildren, Troy and Natassie Lundgreen; and brother, Robert (Patricia). He is preceded in death by his wife Delores.
