Mary K. Bertelsen
Services for Mary Beteelsen of Plymouth were held Sept. 16 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church with the Rev. John Sullivan and the Rev. Alexander Dowey O.F.M. officiating.
Mrs. Bertelsen died Sept. 11 in Plymouth Township. She was a homemaker. She came to the Plymouth community in 1984 from Delaware. She was a very active member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church..
Mrs. Bertelsen was preceded in death by husband, James A. Bertelsen.
Survivors include children, Margaret (Steven) Hampton of Chicago, James M. of Phoenix, and Joseph A. of Boston; grandchildren, James Steven Hampton; father, John P. Dowey of Chicago; sisters, Margaret M. Frank of Berea, Tennessee. Mrs. Mosley was born Dec. 27, 1922 in Reliance, Tenn. and died Sept. 15 in Saline. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Mosley came to the Plymouth community in 1986 from Michigan.

Astrid Gran Pentecost Stroud
A private service will be held at a later date in Michigan after working in Plymouth and Mt. Pleasant. She enjoyed doing many outdoor activities in North Carolina, she was fond of gardening and walking. She was a great teller of humerous stories of life experiences.
Mrs. Stroud was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Pentecost and husband, Eugene Stroud.
Survivors include children, Sandra Pentecost and Randall Pentecost, both of Wilmington, N.C. and William Pentecost of Ottawa Ontario, Canada; sisters, Ruth (Clifford) Moening of Trenton and Esther LaRock of Marquette, Mich.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Konen Foundation, P.O. Box 65039, Dallas, Washington, Ohio. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Plymouth. She enjoyed playing Bingo, crocheting, cooking and baking for her family, she especially enjoyed Thanksgiving when the whole family gathered together. She enjoyed traveling to Oklahoma city, Okla., and George Wiler of Olympia, Wash.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.

John P. Denski, Jr.
John Denski, 75, of Canton, died Sept. 16 in Canton. He was born Jan. 17 in Belleville. He was an entrepreneur.
Mr. Denski was preceded in death by Kenny, Penny and Timmy.
Survivors include wife, Phyllis A.; daughters, Jeanne C. (Rick) Norskov, Mary A. (Steve) Berger, and Jody E. (Tom) Fyrbacher; sons, John P. III (Laura), Michael D., Kevin B.; two sisters; five brothers; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Floyd E. Vickery
Services for Floyd Vickert, 89, of Plymouth were held on Sept. 18 at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home with Mr. Royce Dickenson officiating. Burial was at Riverside Cemetery in Plymouth.
Mr. Vickery was born June 30, 1913 in Hackleberg, Ala. and died Sept. 14 in Superior Township. He was a retired foreman from General Motors Detroit Diesel Plant. He came to the Plymouth community in 1988 from Westland. He was a member of the Church of Christ of Plymouth. He loved fishing, golf and gardening. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.
Mr. Vickery was preceded in death by his wife, Mollie; and brothers, Deuel Vickery and Fred Vickery.
Survivors include wife, Ethel of Plymouth; children, Don (Sally) Vickery of Farmington Hills and Rebecca Gross of Brighton; step-son, Donald (Joyce) Duke of Plymouth; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Loraine (Scotty) Scott of Ga., Hildred Hubbard of Fla., Autie Bowers of Phoenix, Ariz.; brothers, Travis H. Vickery of Ohio and died Sept. 16 in Garden City. He was a die setter for the auto industry.
Survivors include wife, Mae; son, Robert (Okris) Boyer; son, Tom (Lizz) Beyer; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Stella D. Schodowski
Services for Stella Schodowski, 74, of Westland will be held Sept. 21 at the L.J. Griffin Funeral Home Canton Chapel with burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Mrs. Schodowski was born June 29, 1928 in Hamtramck and died Sept. 16 at Heartland Nursing Home in Ann Arbor. She worked as a clerk in retail.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond P. Schodowski.
Survivors include daughter, Patricia M. (Joseph) Wrobel; sister, Helen Kaun; and grandson, Stephen.

Bowen F. Gover
Services for Bowen Gover, 78, of Plymouth were held Sept. 25 at the Vermeulen Funeral Home with the Rev. Drex Morton officiating. Burial was at Parkview Memorial Cemetery in Livonia.
Mr. Gover was born Dec. 14, 1923 in Detroit and died Sept. 23 at the Farmington Healthcare Center. He was an engineer. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include wife, Lorraine L. Gover of Plymouth; daughter, Renee E. Tipler of Dearborn Heights; son, Keith B. Gover of Plymouth; grandsons, John and Mark Tipler; and great-grandchild, Aaliyah Tipler.

Rose Marie Venney
Services for Rose Venney, 64, of Canton were held Sept. 26 at SS Simon & Jude Catholic Church with the Rev. Gerard V. Bechard officiating. Burial was at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Livonia.
Mrs. Venney was born May 18, 1936 in Detroit and died Sept. 22 in Garden city. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include husband, John James Venney of Canton; son, Patrick Venney of Dearborn; daughter, Denise Sutton of Houghton Lake; son, Daniel (Cindy) Venney of Garden City; daughter, Mary Sample of Canton; brother, Vincent Manderachia of Plymouth; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Daniel Andrew Friend
Services for Daniel Friend, 48, of Redford were held Sept. 27 at the Vermeulen Funeral Home with the Rev. Neil D. Cowling officiating. Burial was at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens in Novi.
Mr. Friend was born Nov. 11, 1953 in Detroit and died Sept. 24 in Garden City. He was a member of Kirk of Our Savior Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Friend was preceded in death by his father and mother, George (Gertrude) Friend.
Survivors include brother, James Friend of Ferndale; sister, Janet (John) Grand of Canton; brother, David (Jennifer) Friend of Ferndale; and niece, Natalie Grand of Canton.

Robert R. Fohey
Services for Robert Fohey, 79, of Livonia were held Sept. 27 at the Vermeulen Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack H. Baker officiating. Burial was at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.
Mr. Fohey was born Aug. 9, 1923 in Detroit and died Sept. 23 in Superior Township. He worked for the Wayne County Road Commission, retiring in 1976 from Detroit Metro Airport, Operations Department. He moved to East Tawas, Mich. where he resided for 20 years. Mr. Fohey was in the Coast Guard and served in the Pacific during World War II.
Mr. Fohey was preceded in death by his wife, Irene fohey; brother, Frances Dewayne Fohey; and brother, Donald Fohey.
Survivors include son, Donald (Janice) Fohey of Plymouth; daughter, Christine (Russell) Reum; son, William Fohey; grandchildren, Scott and Kelly Fohey, Jason and Jeremy Swanagan, and Matt and Becky Fohey; and great-grandchild, Jordon Swanagan.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association Michigan Milk Producers as a Lab Technician. She was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church.
Survivors include husband, Salvatore "Sam" Locascio of Farmington Hills; son, James Locascio, D.D.S. of White Lake; daughter, Jeanette (Richard) Gohl of Canton; son, Thomas (Deborah) Locascio of Commerce Township; son, Donald (Linda) Locascio of Livonia; and eight grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
