Cecily A. Farragher
Services for Cecila Farragher, 50, of Grand Rapids (formerly of Canton and Westland) will be held Sept. 30 at St. Thomas a'Becket Catholic Church in Canton with the Rev. C. Richard Kelly, Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.
Ms. Farragher was born April 2, 1942 in Detroit and died Sept. 25 in Grand Rapids, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She leaves behind her legacy in the hundreds of elementary students she taught over the years in Livonia.
Ms. Farragher was preceded in death by parents, Paul (Cecily) Farragher; and sister Paula Lannan.
Survivors include brother-in-law, Michael Lannan of Grand Rapids; nieces ("the lights of her life") Michelle (Grant) Grable of Chicago, Beth (Michael) Bouma of Grand Rapids, Colleen (Gordon) Shields of Grand Rapids, Maureen (Dave) Partlo of Grand Rapids, and Katherine Lannan of Grand Rapids; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Karmanos Cancer Institute.

Frances Marie Travis
Mrs. Frances Travis, 88, of Traverse City (formerly of Plymouth) died September 14, 2002 in Traverse City. Mrs. Travis was born Feb. 11, 1914 in Selma Ohio.
Mrs. Travis was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Stanley Travis; and grandchild, Jane Richardson.
Survivors include daughters, Shirley Brinks of Pueblo, Colo., Ellen Tracey of Bellaire, Mich., and Mary Parker of Pasadena, Calif; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Clyde J. Ayers
A memorial service for Clyde Ayers, 74, of Plymouth will be held Aug. 28 at Faith Lutheran Church in Highland, Mich..
Mr. Ayers died Aug. 15 at Harper Hospital. He was a retired certified public accountant.
Survivors include wife, Rena Ayers; daughters, Lora, Jodie, Michele, Mary, Karen, Debbie, Pattie and Joan; sons, Roy, Bill, Clyde and Dean; 23 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

James Russell Fogarty
Services for James Fogarty, 67, of Canton, were held Aug. 21 at St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Wayne with the Rev. Robert Schultz officiating. Burial was at Glen Eden Cemetery in Livonia.
Mr. Fogarty was born Dec. 21, 1934 and died Aug. 18 in Elmer Township, Mich. He had a lifetime of dedication in the Display & Exhibit Profession.
Mr. Fogarty was preceded in death by stepdaughter, Linda Zapata.
Survivors include wife, Iva Fogarty; sons, James Patrick (Cheryl) Fogarty and Tim (Laura) Fogarty; daughters, Colleen (Bill) Quintal and Sheryl Fogarty; stepdaughters, Connie (Elgin) David, Lissa (Earl) Franklin; stepsons, Stephen Goss and Geoffrey (Doris) Goss; and brothers, Melvin D. Fogarty and William G. Fogarty; 18 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mary Lucille Lowry
A memorial service for Mary Lowry, 92, of Plymouth will be held Sept. 14, 2002 at 3 p.m.at St. John's Episcopal Church in Plymouth with internment at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Lowry was born April 7, 1910 and died Aug. 23, 2002. She was formerly of Worthington, Ohio. She was a former church organist in Columbus, Ohio and Worthington, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Karl E. Lowry. They had been married for 64 years.
Survivors include daughters, Carolyn L. (Hayn) Notestine of Plymouth; Catherine (Chris) Short of Dexter, and Melanie (Rick) Draper of Westland; four grandchildren; and three great-grandsons.

Mary Ann VanKerckhove
Services for Mary Ann VanKerckhove, 54, of Plymouth were held Aug. 27 at Neely-Turowski Funeral Home with the Rev. Timothy Sullivan officiating. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Mrs. VanKerckhove was born Jan. 11, 1948 in Detroit and died Aug. 23 in Detroit. She was a teacher.
Survivors include husband, Alan; sons, Michael, Stephen, David, and Mark; and brothers, Charlie (Diane) Beauchamp and Richard Beauchamp.
Memorial contributions may be made to Karmanos Cancer Institute.

Merlyn L. Evans
Services for Merlyn Evans, 85, of Canton were held Aug. 27 at Herbert Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug MaGinn officiating. Burial is at Oak Grove Cemetery in Manistee.
Mr. Evans was born Aug. 15, 1917 in Aredale, Iowa and died Aug. 22 in Farmington Hills. He was a bricklayer. He formerly lived in Detroit for 48 years, moving to Canton five years ago. He was married for 61 years. He was a member of the Moslem Temple Shriners, Veteran Patrol for over 50 years at Centerline Palmer Masonic Lodge 550, St. Paul's Lutheran Church for over 25 years, and former President of the Men's Club. He served in the Marines. He was a member of the painting crew for the Shrine Circus. He was also a member of the Bricklayers Local 2 for 56 years.
Survivors include wife, Phyllis L. Evans of Canton; daughters, Carol Glegola of Taylor, Marie Evans of Canton, and Lynn Evans of Canton; son, Dave Evans of Livonia; granddaughters, Debbie Evans and Rhonda (George) Morris; grandsons, Dave Evans, Mark (Lisa) Glegola, and James Glegola; and great-grandsons, Jason Morris and Stanley Morris.

Robert Oliver Jackson
Robert Jackson, 79, of Plymouth died on Aug. 20 in Plymouth. He was born April 23, 1923 in Newfolden, Minn. He lived in Plymouth for 34 years, previously from Redford Township. He was married for 54 years. He graduated from Wayne State University with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He was a World War II pilot in the Army Air Corp. He flew over India, Burma and China. He retired from Michigan Bell in 1980 after 25 years as a Yellow Pages salesman. He was a member of the American Legion, Post #32, VFW in Plymouth and DAV in Livonia.
Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his son, David Jackson.
Survivors include wife, Isabelle Jackson of Plymouth; son, Robert Jackson of Minneapolis, Minn.; daughters, Susan Jackson of East Lansing and Jill Jackson of St. Helena, Calif.; sister, Phyllis Pattison of Camarillo, Calif.; grandsons, Nathaniel Jackson and Hans Jackson; and granddaughters, Rebekka Jackson and Katherine Jackson.

Robert "Bob" W. Doane
A committal service for Robert Doane, 67, of Belleville will be held Aug. 30 at Hillside Cemetery in Belleville.
Robert was born on Oct. 19, 1934 in Belleville and died Aug. 18 in Belleville. He was a lifelong resident of Belleville. He attended the Belleville schools and graduated from Belleville High School, class of 1952. He has been involved in genealogy and family histories since 1967. Robert is a member of the Doane Family Association of America, Society of Mayflower Decedents in Michigan and the General Society of Mayflower Decedents. He has helped compile several books not asking for credit.
Robert was a member of The American Association for State and Local History, the Belleville Area Historical Society, The Detroit Society of Genealogical Research, Inc., the Historical Society of Michigan, National Trust for Historical Preservation, National Historical Society, Honorary Grand Marshall of the 2001 Strawberry Festival, member of the Belleville Moose, Belleville Cemetery committee member. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Mr. Doane was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Henry Doane, sister, Lillian Mae Doane, brother, Roy Wesley Doane, and Mary Caroline Bullock.
Survivors include brothers, Earl (Phyllis) Doane of Florida, William (Gloria) Doane of Highland Township, and Rex (Inez) Doane of Newport; sister, Viola "Peggy" (Marcy) Streight of South Lyon; sister-in-law, Barbara Doane; brother-in-law, Robert M. Bullock; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hillside Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund, Belleville, MI.

Charles A. Bonnici
Services for Charles Bonnici, 84, of Canton were held Aug. 27 at St. Thomas a'Becket Catholic Church with the Rev. C. Richard Kelly officiating. Burial was at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights.
Mr. Bonnici was born Aug. 2, 1918 in Malta and died Aug. 23 in Westland. He worked in maintenance for Ford Motor Company.
He was preceded in death by his son, Robert J. Bonnici.
Survivors include wife, Rita M. Bonnici of Canton; daughters, Linda M. (Ernest) Hampton of Canton, Lorraine A. (Fernando) Rodriguez of Canton, and Carol M. (George) Emmett of Canton; son, Raymond C. (Mary) Bonnici of Riverview; nine grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Mildred G. Dimanoff
Mildred G. Dimanoff, 84, of Rochester Hills (formerly of Plymouth) died Aug. 25, 2002. She was a lifetime member of Order of the Eastern Star, Dearborn Chapter. She formerly lived in Dearborn for 20 years.
Mrs. Dimanoff was preceded in death by Loretta White.
Survivors include husband, Stanley Dimanoff; daughter, Anita (James) Karner; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Matthew A. Bruscato
Private services for Matthew A. Bruscato, 22, of Canton were held Tuesday, Aug. 13 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church. Internment was at St. Hedwig Cemetery.
Matthew was born June 3, 1980 in St. Clair, Mich., and died Aug. 8, 2002 in Canton. He was a student.
Matthew was the beloved son of Anthony and Sharon; grandson of Angela and the late Anthony Bruscato, Lottie Depugh, and William and Kayti Depugh; brother of Sarah and Andrew; and uncle of Charlotte.

Juana Oliva
Services for Juana Oliva, 88, of Canton were held Aug. 10 at L.J. Griffin Funeral Home Canton Chapel.
Mrs. Oliva was born Aug. 28, 1913 in Cuba and died Aug. 5 at Henry Ford Hospital. She worked as a garment seamstress.
Survivors include daughter, Sadis E. (Eloy) Kitchener; grandchild, Eloy A.; and great-grandchild, Payton E.

Rodney C. Kallungi
Services for Rodney Kallungi, 54, of Plymouth, were held Aug. 9 at the Vermeulen Funeral Home with the Rev. David W. Martin officiating. Burial was at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia.
Mr. Kallungi was born March 14, 1948 in Detroit and died Aug. 6 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. He was a resident of Plymouth. He graduated from Ferris State College. He was a business owner for more than 20 years. He owned Kallungi Meats in the Gratiot Center Market at Eastern Market in Detroit. There was a fire in 1995 and the business was relocated to Canton. The busines is now called the Eastern Market of Canton.
Survivors include wife, Diana K. Kallungi of Plymouth; step-mother, Josephine Kallungi; daughter, Tracey (William) Randall of Plymouth; son, Michael Harris of Plymouth; son, Matthew Harris of Plymouth; and son-in-law, Rudolph (Pauline) Richards.
