Marjorie P. Sike
Services for Marjorie Sike, 79, of Dearborn were held Aug. 10 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church with the Rev. John J. Sullivan officiating. Burial was at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights.
Mrs. Sike was born May 10, 1923 in Detroit and died Aug. 6 at the Farmington Hills Hospice Home. She was a retired child care worker.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Orville Kincaid.
Survivors include daughters, Carol (Roy) Siders of Pittsburgh, Arlene (Don) Ringel of South Lyon, Jo (Doug) Swerc of Plymouth, and Susan (Bob) Levesque of Sioux City, Iowa; sister, Geraldine Sykes of Alabama; and grandchildren, Renee (Dennis) Haviland of Pennsylvania, Nicole Levesque of Sioux City, R.J. Levesque of Sioux City, and Michael Levesque of Sioux City.

Mary Lou Dyer
Services for Mary Lou Dyer, 61, of Florida (formerly of Plymouth) were held Aug. 10 at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy G. Forsyth officiating. Burial was at Riverside Cemetery in Plymouth.
Mrs. Dyer was born July 12, 1941 in Plymouth and died Aug. 6 in Florida. She was a technician for Lucent Technology in Orlando, Fla. She came to the Florida community in 1985 from Plymouth. She liked to travel, go to the casino and crocheting. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister.
Mrs. Dyer was preceded in death by her husband, James Dyer.
Survivors include children, Roy (Stephanie) Dyer of Ypsilanti, Leah Haley of Westland, and Regina Dyer of Westland; grandchildren, Rachelle, James, Tyler, Paige, Jacob and Andy; brothers, Jack (Barbara) Wall of Florida and Edward (Linda) Wall of Plymouth; sisters, Shirley Clemmons of Plymouth, Doris (Bob) Stevenson of Gladstone and Joyce (Mike) Budnick of Canton.

Patrick Joseph Neill
Services for Patrick Neill, 48, of Dearborn were held Aug. 15 at St. John's Episcopal Church with the Rev. William B. Lupfer officiating.
Mr. Neill was born Sept. 3, 1953 in Dearborn and died Aug. 10 in Detroit. He was a certified public accountant. He came to the Monroe, Tecumseh/Clinton community in 1978 from Dearborn and Gaylord. He was a member of the Friends of the V.F.W. Slater Post in Tecumseh. He was a volunteer for the Sand Lake Fire Department. He received a bachelor degree in business from Northern Michigan University.
Patrick was preceded in death by his mother, Joan Adamson Neill.
Survivors include daughters, Katherine Olsaver Neill, Elizabeth Joan Neill and Sarah Maureen Neill, all of Tecumseh; brothers and sisters, Michael (Mary Ann) Neill of Gainesville, Fla., Thomas (Jennifer) Neill of Dearborn and Catherine (Joseph Krauss) Neill of Plymouth; and father, Joseph T. Neill of Dearborn.

Merlin K. Gaut
Services for Merlin Gaut, 88, of Southfield, were held Aug. 14 at the Newburg United Methodist Church in Livonia.
Mr. Gaut was born Aug. 19, 1913 and died Aug. 10. He retired in 1976 from Ford Motor Co. as a Senior Design Checker in Body Engineering. Previously he worked his way through Chrysler and General Motors, where he received his technical training. He worked in many job shops in the automotive industry. As a young man, he owned a card room and Gaut Opera House in Payne, Ohio. He also worked the farms and had a bread route.
He was born and raised in Ohio and came to Michigan in the late 1930s. He came to Detroit in 1941 and Southfield in the late 1940s. He was one of the "founding fathers" in the City of Southfield where he served on the Civil Service Commission. He was one of the organizers of the Upper-Teens, Inc. and the Southfield Fair. He was also a Cub Scout, Boy Scout and Explorer Leader and served for many years as president of the PTA at John Grace School.
He met Marjorie (a school teacher) at the Grande Ballroom; they've been married for 62 years. They lived for a short while at Waltonwoods Senior Apartments in Canton. He received a public service award from Henry Ford II for his exemplary public service and commendation from the City of Southfield for his years in public service.
In his free time he enjoyed golf, archery (he made his own arrows), shooting, boating and gardening. He was an avid trader in the stock market. The Gauts spent their retirement winters in Daytona Beach and Ft. Pierce, Fla. Mack says of his dad, "He was a great man who wasn't afraid to try anything or volunteer for any job. He enjoyed working with people, loved his family, and always had a smile on his face."
Mr. Gaut was preceded in death by his brother, Marcell Gaut, and grandson, Micah Leyshock.
Survivors include wife, L. Marjorie Gaut of Southfield; son, Mack M. (Marilyn) Gaut of Plymouth; daughter, Marianne J. DesJardins of Southfield; daughter, Martha C. (Dennis) Leyshock of Farmington Hills; grandchildren, Martin (Tracey) Gaut, Mark (Jen) Gaut, Monica (Jeff) Darling, Deloris DesJardins, Tricia Damron, Daniel Leyshock, and Peter Leyshock; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Maribeth Elick of E. Palestine, Ohio.

Randall "Randy" L. Rowley
Services for Randy Rowley, 37, were held Aug. 15 at Phillips Funeral Home in South Lyon.
Randy was born Jan. 12, 1965 in Flint and died Aug. 11. Formerly of Flint, he moved to the South Lyon/Novi area 12 years ago. He worked for Great Lakes Pump & Supply for the past eight years.
Randy was preceded in death by his brother, Donald and sister, Cheryl.
Survivors include wife, Michelle Rowley of South Lyon; sons, Adam Beal of Colorado and Brandon Spence of Colorado; father, Robert Rowley, brothers, Dale and Robert Rowley.

Cecelia X. Macklin
Private services for Cecelia Macklin, 86, of Plymouth will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Macklin was born Sept. 29, 1915 in Minneapolis, Minn. and died Aug. 11 in Superior Township. She was retired from Chrysler Corporation where she worked as an executive secretary following the death of her husband, Joseph, at a young age. An avid gardener, Mrs. Macklin was known for her beautiful flowers.
Survivors include children, Elaine (Gordon) Didier of Plymouth and Robert (Erika) Macklin of Oakland, Calif.; granddaughter, Karen (Brian Scheuffler) Macklin of Big Sky, Mont.; and sister, Irene Homiak of Albuquerque, N.M.

Myron Wise
A memorial service for Myron Wise, 71, of Redford will be 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, in Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 25450 Plymouth Road, Redford. Visitation is 3 p.m. until time of service on Saturday.
Mr. Wise died Sept. 30, 2002.
Surviving are his children, David, Paul and Gail (Joe); step-son, Harold Dubowsky; siblings, Harold, Joann and Scottie; and three grandchildren, Melissa, Michael and Chase.
Vincent Guido
Services for Vincent Guido, 81, of Livonia were today, Thursday, Oct. 10, in St. Sabina Catholic Church, with burial at St. Hedwig Cemetery. Officiating was the Rev. Ray.
Mr. Guido was born March 26, 1921, and died Oct. 7, 2002, in Livonia. He was a foreman.
Surviving are his daughters, Nancy (Alan) Crouse of Redford and Barbara (Ken) Wagner; and four grandchildren.

Rev. Edward G. Zell
Services for Rev. Edward Zell, 82, of Redford Township were Oct. 7 in Lola Park Lutheran Church, with burial at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia.
Rev. Zell was born Sept. 20, 1920, in Mishicot, Wis., and died Oct. 4, 2002, in Southfield. He lived in Redford Township since 1945. He was a minister at Lola Park Lutheran Church in Redford Township 1945-1993. He was a Master of Divinity.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Jayne; sons, James and Edward; daughter, Mary; brother, William; sisters, Alice, Ruth and Hazel; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Ada Sinift
A Celebration of Life Service for Ada Sinift, 86, of Redford Township was Oct. 9 in Harry J. Will Funeral Home. Burial was at Parkview Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Sinift died Oct. 5, 2002.
Surviving are her children, Wilbur (Sharon), Janice (James) Pesta, Joyce (George) Vick and Dwight (Arlene); 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Sinift was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight.
Gary I. Forter
Services for Gary Forter, 64, of Redford Township were Oct. 8 in Charles R. Step Funeral Home. Officiating was the Rev. Larry Austin.
Mr. Forter was born Feb. 6, 1938, in Detroit, and died Oct. 5, 2002, in Redford Township. He lived in Redford Township all his life. He was a tool and die maker.
Surviving are his son, Steve; daughter. Lori and Lois; brother, Glenn; sister, Beth; and six grandchildren, Shawna, Jenna, Steve, Chase, Wyatt and Grace.
Laura Ella Hanson
Services for Laura Hanson, 82, of Redford Township were Oct. 3 in Charles R. Step Funeral Home, with burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield. Officiating was the Rev. Anthony Hathaway.
Mrs. Hanson was born Sept. 19. 1920, in Hillman, Mich., and died Sept. 30, 2002, in Farmington Hills. She lived in this community many years.
Surviving are her husband, Victor; daughter, Laralee (George) Coomes; and grandchildren, Kurt (Jillian) Lopez and Rodger Lopez.
Raymond Woods
Services for Raymond Woods, 72, of Royal Oak were Oct. 5, in Greenfield Presbyterian Church in Berkley, with burial at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak. Officiating was the Rev. Peter T. Moore.
Mr. Woods was born April 26, 1930, in Pittsburgh, Pa., and died Oct. 1, 2002, in Pontiac. He worked for Excello Corp. as a quality control manager until his retirement.
He served in the U.S. Air Force in Okinawa during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Woods was an elder for Christ Memorial Presbyterian Church and was an active member of Greenfield Presbyterian Church. He was an assistant scout master of Lincoln Elementary Boy Scout No. 630 and was active with the Royal Oak Senior Center.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Joyce; children, Denise (David) Woods-Di Biase of Livonia and Rebecca Swanson of Dublin, Ohio; and five grandchildren, Katherine, Cory, Toby, Jonathon and Jacob.
Mr. Woods was preceded in death by his son, David Woods, and brother, William Ross.
