Roy J. Tallman
A memorial service for former Redford resident Roy Tallman, 43, of Hancock was Sept. 14, in Siloa Lutheran Church of Ontonagon. Officiating were the Rev. Mark Lerseth and Rev. Jimalee Jones.
Mr. Tallman was born Aug. 22, 1959, in Highland Park, and died Sept. 11, 2002, at his home in Hancock. He lived in Detroit, Ontonagon, and for the past 10 years, in Hancock.
He was employed as a cook at Gino's Restaurant in Hancock and formerly, for the Kaleva Cafe in Hancock.
Surviving are his children, Jerry, Crystal and Dylan, all of Schofield, Wis.; father, Donald (Eva) Tallman of Ontonagon, mother, Marian Tallman of Houghton; special friend, Julie Barry of Hancock; aunts, Sally Nippa of Redford, Lola (Martin) Anderson of Lake Havasu, Ariz., and Betty Tallman of State College, Pa.; uncle, Richard (Joyce) Tallman of Ohio; and several step-brothers and sisters.

Robert Stanley Wilson
Services for Robert Wilson, 71, of Redford Township will be 5 p.m. today, Sunday, Sept. 15, in Fisher Funeral Home, 24501 Five Mile Road, Redford Township. Officiating will be the Rev. Jerry Stroud from Christ Lutheran Church. Visitation is 2-5 p.m. today in the funeral home.
Mr. Wilson was born Nov. 18, 1930, and died Sept. 12, 2002, in Redford Township.
Surviving are his children, Kenneth (Kandie) Wilson, John (Robin) Wilson and Kathy Gable; brother, Bernard (Shirley) Wilson; sister, Charlene (Edward) Mulroy; and seven grandchildren, Kevin, Kelly, Karly, Lauryn, Chris, Katie and Carrie.

Kevin Lee Franklin
Services for Kevin Franklin, 39, of Novi were Sept. 14 in Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home, with burial at Roseland Park Cemetery, Berkley. Officiating was the Rev. Jennifer Saad.
Mr. Franklin was born Sept. 10, 1963, in Detroit, and died Sept. 10, 2002, in Detroit. He was employed in the restaurant industry.
Surviving are his brothers, Ernest Franklin of Redford, Kenneth Franklin and Duane Franklin; and sisters, Martha Severson, Karen Jarvis of Livonia and Linda Petiprin.
Mr. Franklin was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Ernest Franklin, and nephew, James.

James E. Veach
A memorial service for former Livonia resident James Veach, 76, of Manistee will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy.
Mr. Veach was born March 27, 1926, in Detroit, and died June 4, 2002, at West Shore Medical Center in Manistee. Jim and his wife, Jeanne, moved to Manistee from Livonia in 1986.
Mr. Veach was an electrical service engineer for Ford Motor Company, retiring after 32 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy in World War II serving on USS LST 583.
He was very active with the Boy Scouts in the Livonia area for more than 20 years. He served as Scout Master of Troupe 401 in Redford and ran a two-week summer camp for his troupe for 20 years, serving as a water safety instructor. He enjoyed gardening, bowling, cross country skiing and canoeing.
Surviving are his wife, Jeanne; sons, Dr. John (Pat) Veach of Manistee, David Veach of Livonia, Paul (Mary Elyse) Veach of Grand Haven and Peter (Anne) Veach of Dearborn; brother, Jerry (Juanita) Veach of Livonia; sister, Hulda (Dan) Piercecchi of Livonia; and grandchildren, Jessica and Jeffrey Veach, Cassie, Emma and Noah Veach, and Grant, Nicole, Brendan and Dominic Veach. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Dorothy S. Kastelic
Private services for Dorothy Kastelic, 86, of Livonia were held recently. Arrangements were made by Thayer-Rock Funeral Home, Farmington.
Mrs. Kastelic was born Jan. 1, 1916, in Calumet, Mich., and died Sept. 8, 2002, in Livonia. She was a former resident of Farmington Hills.
Surviving are her son, Frank Kastelic, Jr. of Gay, Mich., and daughter, Dorothy Longshore of Livonia.
Mrs. Kastelic was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Sr. (Feb. 2001).
Doris A. Fisher
Services for Doris Fisher, 90, of Westland were Sept. 3 in Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Plymouth. Officiating was the Rev. John J. Sullivan.
Miss Fisher was born Nov. 1, 1911, in Cleveland, Ohio, and died Aug. 31, 2002, in Westland. She was raised in Superior, Wis., and moved to Plymouth in 1943. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Superior, Wis. Miss Fisher received her degree as a registered medical laboratory technicican from St. Mary Hospital, Superior, Wis. and worked for a physician in Plymouth 20 years.
She attended the Bradbury School of Music in Duluth, Minn., where she received a teaching certificate for piano. She played morning Mass for Father Byrne at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, where she has been a member since 1943.
Surviving are her sisters; Anita Vogel of San Antonio, Fla., and Florence Levandowski of Livonia; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial tributes may be made in the form of Mass offerings or to Four Chaplains Nursing Care Center in Westland.

Charles H. Adkins
Services for Charles Adkins, 87, of Farmington were Sept. 14 in Thayer-Rock Funeral Home, with burial at Oakland Hills Cemetery in Novi. Officiating was Dick Schmidt, Chaplain of VFW Post No. 3941.
Mr. Adkins was born Aug. 26, 1915, in Missouri, and died Sept. 11, 2002, at his home in Farmington. He was a resident in this community 60 years. He was a machine repairman for GM-Cadillac Motor Co., retiring in 1980 after 35 years of service.
He was a life member of VFW Post No. 3941-Livonia. He served in the Navy during World War II. Mr. Adkins enjoyed being on a pool league.
Surviving are his daughter, Sharon (Anthony) Kolodziejczak of Farmington Hills; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mr. Adkins was preceded in death by his wife, Adeline.

Elma M. Mattson
Services for Elma Mattson, 83, of Livonia were Sept. 14 in Thayer-Rock Funeral Home with burial at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia. Officiating was the Rev. Victor F. Halboth from Grace Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Mattson was born March 25, 1919, in Calumet, and died Sept. 10, 2002, in Royal Oak. She was a resident in this community 18 years ago. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, and her grandchildren.
Surviving are her son, Ray (Lorna) Mattson; daughter, Arlene (Jack) Sabin; sisters, Helen Walivarra and Martha (James) Brendahl; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Mattson was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, and son, Myles Mattson.
Irma Sprogell
Services for former Livonia resident Irma "Jan" Sprogell, 92, of Plymouth were Sept. 12 in Clock Funeral Home in Whitehall, Mich.
Mrs. Sprogell was born May 5, 1910, in Saginaw, and died Sept. 8, 2002, in Livonia. She was a medical secretary, at Methodist General Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, and North West Community Hospital. She was a member of the National Federation of Republican Women.
Mrs. Sprogell was active in local and state Republican activities since 1979. She was elected woman of the year by the Livonia Republican Womens Club in 1989.
Surviving are her husband, Donald; son, Richard (Lorraine) Hughes; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Amadeo L. Crispino
Graveside services for former Westland resident Amadeo "Louis" Crispino, 88, of Muncie, Ind. were Sept. 14 in Holy Cross Cemetery, Clarksburg, W.Va.
Mr. Crispino was born in Clarksburg, W.Va., and attended the local schools. He died Sept. 10, 2002. He worked for a packing company in Clarksburg. In 1942, he moved to Detroit and worked for American Motors until 1959. He then worked as a custodian for Clarenceville High School, retiring in 1972. He has resided in Muncie this past year.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Catherine; daughters, Raffella (Norman) Tomboni of Muncie, Ind., Josephine (Jim) Williams of Flat Rock and Rosemarie Crispino of Wayne; sister, Eva of Burgettstown, Pa.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Crispino was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.

Willis A. Brauer
Services for Willis Brauer, 62, of Livonia were Sept 14 in Fred Wood Funeral Home.
Mr. Brauer was born in Detroit, and died Sept. 11, 2002, in Southfield. He was a teacher and principal in Livonia 30 years, retiring June 30, 1993. He was an avid hunter and loved to play poker.
Surviving are his son, David (Diane) Brauer; daughter, Elizabeth (Richard) LaForge; mother, Thelma Brauer; one brother; and eight grandchildren.

James A. McGuire, Jr.
A funeral Mass for James McGuire, Jr., 85, of Redford Township was Sept. 9 in St. Michael Catholic Church in Southfield, with burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield. Officiating was the Rev. Larry Zureck.
Mr. McGuire was born June 18, 1917, in Wilks Barre, Pa., and died Sept. 6, 2002, in Farmington Hills. He lived in this community 54 years. He was an accountant. Mr. McGuire was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church of Southfield.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn; children, James III (Mary Ellen), Kathleen (Dick) Hall, Mary, Robert, Elizabeth (Tom) Walsh, Edward (Patty) Ruth, Michael and Margaret (Kurt) Wallace; sisters, Doris McGuire, Sr. Ruth McGuire, Lois Mudgett and Alice McGuire; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
