Cecil Miller
Services for former Redford resident Cecil Miller, 72, of Lake Wales, Fla., were Aug. 21 in R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home.
Mr. Miller was born July 7, 1930, in Elizabeth, W.Va., and died Aug. Aug. 16, 2002, at his home in Lake Wales, Fla. He was a lab technician for General Motors Corp. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lake Wales, Fla., and past Deacon of Temple Baptist Church and Fundamental Baptist Church in Michigan.
Mr. Miller served in the U.S. Marine Corp. during the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Dorothy; son, David Miller of New Baltimore; daughters, Karen Honeycheck of Milford and Kathy Ward of Franklin, Tenn.; brothers, Robert Miller of Lake Wales, Fla., Frank Miller of Lake Wales, Fla., and Harold Miller of Mesa, Ariz.; sister, Bonnie Palmer of Parkersburg, W.Va.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Redeena Radloff
Services for former Redford Township resident Redeena "Babe" Radloff, 88, of Inverness, Fla., were today, Thursday, Aug. 15, in Fisher Funeral Home, with burial at Cadillac Memorial Gardens West in Westland. Officiating was the Rev. Sharon L. Janot from Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Redford.
Mrs. Radloff was born March 24, 1914, in Adrian, and died Aug. 22, 2002, in Inverness, Fla.
Surviving are her son, George (Pat) Radloff, Jr.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Radloff was preceded in death by her husband, George, 1970.

Patrick R. O'Connell
Services for Patrick O'Connell, 70, of Redford Township will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, in St. Valentine Catholic Church in Redford Township. Officiating will be the Rev. Richard Elmer.
Mr. O'Connell was born Jan. 20, 1932, in Lincoln Park, and died Aug. 12, 2002, in Redford Township.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth; children, Kathleen (Michael) Razmek, Michael (Coline) O'Connell, Mary (Alan) Bradford, David, Peter and Carol O'Connell; five siblings; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Kenneth Afton Williams
Services for Kenneth Williams, 78, of Redford Township were Aug. 10 in Schrader-Howell Funeral Home in Plymouth, with burial at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia. Officiating was the Rev. Drex Morton.
Mr. Williams was born Aug. 29, 1923, in Matteson, Ill., and died Aug. 6, 2002, in Livonia. He came to the Redford community from Detroit in 1956.
Mr. Williams was a construction welder for Jarvis-Webb Company in Novi, and was a member of the Millwrights and Carpenters Local No. 1102.
He enjoyed his cottage in Irish Hills. He enjoyed music (especially Anne Murray), playing the guitar and watching travel and cooking programs on TV.
Surviving are his brother, James (Phyllis) Williams of Canton, sisters-in-law, Natalie Williams of Howell and Lillian Williams of Angleton, Texas; 13 nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.
Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack, Robert and Elton.

Angelo C. Giordano
Services for Angelo Giordano, 81, of Redford Township were Aug. 10 in St. Hilary Catholic Church.
Mr. Giordano was born July 25, 1921, in Detroit, and died Aug. 7, 2002, in Redford Township. He worked in sales for Art Van Furniture.
Surviving are his wife, Joan; sons, Jim (Sherry) Giordano, Bob Giordano and Tom (Kim) Giordano; daughters, Sue (Rick) Vasiloff, Deb (Bruce) Linster and Jane (Eugene) Bickes; and 14 grandchildren.

Peter T. Demers
Peter Demers, 79, of Redford Township died Aug. 6, 2002.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Barbara; children, Dave (Anne) of Westland, Naomie (Scott) Forney of Southfield, Noel (Kate) of Southfield, Leonard (Patti) of Redford Township, Paul (Jinia) of Farmington Hills, Ruth of Livonia, Denise (Mark) Stein of Bloomfield Hills and Bill of Livonia; 26 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Demers was preceded in death by his son, Glen, and granddaughter, Erin.

Mary Ann Shefferly
A funeral Mass for Mary Ann Shefferly, 80, of Farmington Hills was Aug. 3 in Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Detroit. Officiating was Msgr. Walter A. Hurley.
Mrs. Shefferly was born July 25, 1922, in Greenville, S.C., and died July 31, 2002, in Royal Oak. She was a 1940 graduate of St. Anthony High School. She was employed at Chevrolet Gear and Axle.
Mrs. Shefferly was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Oak Park and later joined St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Redford Township. She was involved with Catholic Central High School Mother's Club.
She enjoyed gardening and took great pride in her home. After the death of her husband, Jack, in 1969, she pursued her interest in floral design, working at a florist. In 1977 she began at the Redford Township Senior Citizen Center and eventually became department head.
Surviving are her sons, Paul (Debbie) Shefferly of Northville and Phil (Pattie) Shefferly; brothers, Rick Semany and Rob Semany; and four grandchildren, Megan, John, Kelly and Kirk.
Mrs. Shefferly was preceded in death by her husband, John (1969), and brothers, Joseph and Anthony.

Steven Thomas Parnin
Services for Steven Parnin, 23, of Westland were Aug. 7 in St. Genevieve Catholic Church, with burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield. Officiating was the Rev. Howard Vogan.
Mr. Parnin was born June 21, 1979, in Livonia, and died Aug. 2, 2002, in Detroit. He died in a motorcycle accident. He was a Detroit Police Officer. He was a graduate of Catholic Central High School, Redford.
Surviving are his wife, Laura; parents, Thomas and Elizabeth Parnin of Livonia; brother, Christopher Parnin; sisters, Lisa Parnin, Marie Parnin and Michelle Parnin; grandparents, James and Maryan Parnin; and in-laws, Charles and Barbara Ronayne.

Marjorie Winifred Chamberlain
A memorial service for Marjorie Chamberlain, 85, of Redford Township will be 3:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, in Fisher Funeral Home, 24501 Five Mile Road, Redford Township. Officiating will be the Rev. Stephen Baker from Covenant Community Church. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until time of service.
Mrs. Chamberlain was born Feb. 12, 1917, in Detroit, and died Aug. 4, 2002, in Livonia.
She was a member of Lola Valley Garden Club, Redford Suburban League and Redford Township Senior Citizens Club, and she was an avid gardener.
Surviving are her husband, Raymond; daughters, Marjorie Chamberlain, Arlene Cook and Rayanna (Dave Holcomb) Chamberlain; brothers, William, Jack and Russell Penn; and one grandson, Todd Cook.

Sandra Ann Garbarino
Services for Sandra Garbarino, 55, of Redford Township were Aug. 6 in Charles R. Step Funeral Home. Officiating was the Rev. J.J. Mech from Our Lady of Loretto Catholic Church.
Mrs. Garbarino was born Aug. 6, 1946, in Detroit, and died Aug. 2, 2002, in Detroit. She lived in Redford Township many years and worked as a real estate appraiser.
Surviving are her husband, Mark; son, David (Kimberly); daughter, Tammy Arnt; parents, John and Lucille Smiecinski; siblings, Jay and John Smiecinski; and three grandchildren, Dylan, Courtney and Brooke.
Robert Anthony Meader
Services for Robert Meader, 80, of Redford Township were Aug. 5 in Our Lady of Loretto Catholic Church. Officiating was the Rev. J.J. Mech.
Mr. Meader was born Oct. 29, 2921, in Detroit, and died Aug. 1, 2002, in Livonia.
He was owner of an insurance agency. After his retirement, he earned a degree in the computer field. He worked for the Federal Government.
Mr. Meader was a member of Redford Township Lions Club and Monaghan K of C, and he was an avid chess player and an instructor.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara; brother-in-law, Ronald Nisun; and several nieces and nephews.

Fred Watson
A memorial service for former Redford Township resident, Fred Watson, 86, of Apollo Beach, Fla., was held Aug. 6 in Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Mr. Watson died Aug. 4, 2002, at his home in Apollo Beach, Fla.
He was a retired construction superintendent, who moved to Apollo Beach in 1977 from Redford Township.
Mr. Watson was a Mason and a member of Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his wife, Gerri; son, Bob (Mary) Watson of Roscommon; daughters, Barbara (Jim) Fleming of Springhill, Fla., and Sherry (Jim) Hendee of Pinckney; brother, Mike (Chris) Watson of Arcadia, Fla.; sisters, Ethel Heck of Farmington, Edith Carlton of Redford Township and Gladys Stephen of Chelsea; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services for former Redford resident Ann Boata, 87, of Livonia will be 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, in First United Methodist Church, 33112 Grand River Ave. in Farmington, with burial at Acacia Park Cemetery in Beverly Hills.
Officiating will be the Rev. Sondra B. Willobee. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. today, Sunday, Aug. 3, in Thayer-Rock Funeral Home, 33603 Grand River Ave., Farmington.
Mrs. Boata was born June 23, 1915, in West Virginia, and died July 30, 2002, in Livonia. She was a former resident of Farmington Hills. She was a member of Aldersgate Methodist Church in Redford, Redford School Board, Redford Suburban League and a longtime volunteer for Red Cross.
Surviving are her daughters, Joan (Fred) Miller of Fullerton,Calif. and Crystal (Arthur) Westphal of Farmington Hills; sister, Marie Grogan of Chelsea; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Boata was preceded in death by her husband, John (1990).
