Andrew Petro, 87, of Redford died June 28, 2002.
Mr. Petro is survived by his sons, Andrew Jr. (Doris) and Michael (Dorothy); five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Family members reside in Livonia and Plymouth.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Mary.

JOHN JACOB POLLAK
A memorial service for John Pollak, 55, of Harrison, Mich., will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, in Redford Presbyterian Church, 22122 W. McNichols, Detroit. Officiating will be the Rev. Douglas Carter.
Mr. Pollak was born Dec. 17, 1946, in Brown City, Mich., and died June 27, 2002, in Clare, Mich.
He lived in the Redford community for several years. He was a school teacher and a member of Redford Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Linda; stepbrother, John (Mary) Ode; nieces and nephews, Shannon, Shane, Carrie and Luke.
Mr. Pollak was preceded in death by his step brother, Steve.

DORIS A. GUNDERSON
Services for Doris Gunderson, 93, of Westland were July 2 in Vermeulen Funeral Home with burial at Roseland Park Cemetery, Berkley. Officiating was the Rev. Carla Thompson-Powell.
Mrs. Gunderson was born March 8, 1909, in Sault Ste. Marie, Canada, and died June 28, 2002. She was a nurse. She was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church.
Surviving are her son, Donald (Joyce) Gunderson of Redford Township; daughter, Susie (Harold) Bremer of Grand Rapids; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

GRACE WILMA BRANCZEISZ
Services for Grace Branczeisz, 62, of Redford were held June 29 at Elkland Cemetery in Cass City, Mich.
Mrs. Branczeisz was born June 23, 1940, in Cass City, and died June 25, 2002, in Redford. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband, Tibor; daughters, Kim Branczeisz and Diane Branczeisz; and two grandchildren.

RUTH L. GRIFFITHS
A memorial service for Ruth Griffiths, 79, of Livonia will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Griffiths was born Sept. 14, 1922, in Detroit, and died June 25, 2002, in Livonia. She was a switchboard operator for Stahl Manufacturing, retiring in 1988 after 25 years of service. She was a 1940 graduate of Cooley High School. She enjoyed playing bingo.
Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Clifford; son, Jeffrey Griffiths of Oakland, Calif.; daughters, Pam (David) Lange of Redford and Dianne Fazzio of Westland; brothers, Robert (Phyllis) Guntzviller of Redford and Warren (Gladys) Guntzviller of Mt. Clemens; sister, Thelma (Howard) Brown of Newport Richey, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

ARBUTUS JOSEPHINE DUNN
Services for Arbutus Dunn, 77, of Farmington Hills were June 29 in Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home with burial at Glen Eden Memorial Park, Livonia. Officiating was the Rev. Dan Havron.
Mrs. Dunn was born Aug. 13, 1924, in Milford and died June 26, 2002, in Farmington Hills. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her children, Karen Mastrianni of Waterford, Patrick (Sandy) Dunn of Redford; Patricia Dunn of Farmington Hills, Lori (Frank) Koates of Redford, Arutus (Rick) Ahern of West Bloomfield, Calvin Dunn of Farmington Hills, Robert Dunn of Farmington Hills, Mary (Dan) Lucero of Columbiaville, Christopher Dunn of South Lyon and Caroline Brown of Redford.
Mrs. Dunn was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin.
VINCENT S. JANSSEN
Services for Vincent Janssen, 79, of Redford Township were June 20 in Our Lady of Loretto Church, with burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield. Officiating was the Rev. J.J. Mech.
Mr. Janssen was born Feb. 7, 1933, in Detroit, and died June 17, 2002, in Detroit. He was a Redford Township resident for 44 years.
Mr. Janssen was a warehouseman for Koepplinger's Bakery and a member of Our Lady of Loretto Church.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia; sons, Mark (Kathy) and Michael (Janice); daughter, Ann (Howard) Trerice; sister, Sue Laeder; and nine grandchildren, Kris, Howie, Brandon, Brittany, Andrew, Justin, Sarah, Michele and Mark Taylor.
Mr. Janssen was preceded in death by his brothers, Bud, Bernard, Lee and Vern.

JAMES A. BRANDOLINE
A funeral Mass for James Brandoline, 58, of Redford Township was June 21 in St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, with burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit. Officiating was the Rev. Denis Theroux.
Mr. Brandoline was born Feb. 4, 1944, in Detroit, and died June 16, 2002, in Farmington Hills. He had lived in Redford Township since 1975.
He was a schoolteacher at St. Robert Bellarmine School and was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife, Marija; son, Christopher; and daughter, Nicole (Christopher Gayer).

ENVER RAGAP SOLOMON
A memorial service for Enver Solomon, 75, of Southfield was June 21 in Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home in Farmington. Officiating was Sister Colette.
Mr. Solomon was born May 11, 1926, in Detroit. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Philippine Islands. He was a member of Teamsters Union and the American Association of Retired Persons.
Surviving are his wife, Anna; sons, Dolph (Kuniko) Diemont of Seattle, Wash., Tim (Kay) Diemont of Yorktown, Va. and Anthony (Lucia) Diemont of Bainbridge Island, Wash.; daughter, Marianne (Mike) Fulkerson of Redford; and six grandchildren, Miki, Derrick, Tony, Anastasia, Gia and Ellie.

FLORENCE MARIE TAWYEA
Services for former Redford resident Florence Tawyea, 87, of Farmington Hills were June 21 in St. Genevieve Church in Livonia, with burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield. Officiating was the Rev. Howard Vogan.
Mrs. Tawyea was born April 8, 1915, in Detroit, and died June 17, 2002, at Marycrest Manor in Livonia. She was a member of the Catholic Action Club and St. Agatha Parish in Redford.
Surviving are her son, Edward Tawyea of Philadelphia, Pa.; daughters, Dainne (Joseph) Rahaim, Sandra (Michael) Everard, Kathleen (Thomas) Killeen and Denise Tawyea; brother, Louis Lavagnino; sister, Gertrude Wynesberg; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Tawyea was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, and sister, Alberta Dunning.

KATHERINE M. WESTFALL
Services for former Redford Township resident Katherine Westfall, 95, of Farmington were June 18 at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home in Farmington, with burial at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia. Officiating was the Rev. Victor F. Halboth.
Mrs. Westfall was born Nov. 14, 1906, in Bay City, and died June 14, 2002, in Farmington Hills.
She lived in Farmington for 15 years. She worked at Crowley's, Fred Sanders and Federal Department Store.
Surviving are her brothers, Ed Denkhaus of California and Norman Denkhaus of Florida; sister, Dorothy Driller of East Tawas; nephews, James Driller and David Driller; nieces, Donna Brown and Nancy Verbison; and many other nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Westfall was preceded in death by her husband, John.

Mr. Emerson was born Jan. 3, 1953, in Hazel Park, and died June 14, 2002, at his home in Howell. He was a 1971 graduate of Farmington High School.
Surviving are his wife, Cindi; sons, Lee (Jessica) Emerson of Toledo, Ohio, Jason Emerson, Jeremy Emerson and Roger Emerson II, all of Howell; mother, Rita Emerson of Boynton Beach, Fla.; brother, Chester (Janet) Emerson of Redford; sisters, Anita (David) Martell of Farmington Hills and Amber (Wayne) Miller of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Ryan, Aaron and Noah.

SARAH E. CLAY
Services for Sarah Clay, 77, of Redford Township will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 21, in Redford Baptist Church, 25295 Grand River (east of Beech Daly). She will lie in state 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Officiating will be the Rev. Danny L. Langley.
Mrs. Clay was born March 19, 1925, in Newburg, Mo., and died June 17, 2002, at her home in Redford Township. She was an owner/operator of a burial vault company.
Surviving are her husband, Robert; daughters, Judith (Stefan) Hrycaj, Sharon (Michael) Bethancourt, Roberta (Raymond) Lapierre and Connie (Michael) Mazurkiewicz; and eight grandchildren, Krista, Lara, Nicholas, Ray III, Elizabeth, Lauren, Aaron and Andrew.
Burial will be at Parkview Memorial Park.

RUBY WHITMORE
A memorial service for former Redford Township resident Ruby Whitmore, 94, of Ocala, Fla., was recently in Hiers Memorial Chapel at TimberRidge, Ocala, Fla.
Mrs. Whitmore was born in 1908 in Suttons Bay, Mich., and died May 23, 2002, in Summerfield, Fla. She was a first grade teacher 27 years at Bullman Elementary School in Redford.
Upon retiring she and her husband, Guy, moved to Cooper City, Fla., and lived there until 1996 when she moved in with her daughter, Wanda of Ocala, Fla. She enjoyed oil and acrylics painting, and working with clay. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church Ocala, Fla., and the Everglades Artist Club of Pembroke Pines, Fla.
Surviving are her son, George Whitmore of Sterling Heights; daughter, Wanda Brekke of Ocala, Fla.; sister, Eleanor Bailey of Cottontown, Tenn.; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Whitmore was preceded in death by her husband, Guy.
