Joseph C. Vecchioni
A private funeral Mass for Joseph Vecchioni, 80, of Westland was held recently. Officiating was the Rev. John Lehner.
Mr. Vecchioni died Aug. 20. He served in the United States Army.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Margaret; children, Donna (Mike) Taylor, Barbara (Robert) Hershey, John (Elaine) and Linda (Sam) Jewell; siblings, Albert (Irene) and John (Ann); 17 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Vecchioni was preceded in death by his son, Robert, and sister, Florence Taracki.

Lena F. Gill
Services for Lena Gill, 86, of Westland were Aug. 30 in L.J. Griffin Funeral Home with burial at Acacia Park Cemetery. Officiating was the Rev. Roy G. Forsyth.
Mrs. Gill was born Jan. 25, 1916, in Breckenridge, Ky., and died Aug. 26 in Garden City. She was a clerk for a printing company.
Surviving are her brother, two sisters; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Gill was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin, and daughter, Shirley Lang.
Roseellen Taylor
Services for Roseellen Taylor, 66, of Westland were Aug. 30 in L.J. Griffin Funeral Home with burial at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak.
Mrs. Taylor was born April 4, 1936, in Baltimore, Md., and died Aug. 27 in Livonia. She was a clerk in the banking industry.
Surviving are her sons, Dennis (Jeanne) Taylor and Glenn (Mary) Taylor; mother, Frances Lambert; one brother; two sisters; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband, Jack.
Elizabeth Henderson
Services for Elizabeth Henderson, 59, of Westland were Aug. 31 in John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home. Officiating was the Rev. Donald Gregory from Faith Baptist Church.
Mrs. Henderson was born Sept. 29, 1942, in Detroit and died Aug. 28 in Lincoln Park. She was a cook.
Surviving are her sons, Alvin Henderson, Anthony (Debbie) Henderson and Odis Henderson; sister, Christine Lewinski; and eight grandchildren.
Mrs. Henderson was preceded in death by her son, Roger Henderson, sister, Rosemary Postal, and brother, Sam Evola.
Ardella E. Crickon
Services for Ardella Crickon, 83, of Westland were Aug. 31 in John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home. Officiating was Deacon John Marku from St. Christopher Catholic Church.
Mrs. Crickon was born April, 23, 1919, in Highland Park and died Aug. 23 in Livonia. She worked on the bread line at Awrey Bakery.
Surviving are her daughters, Lynda (Frank) McGeary and Valerie (Lorne) Davey; sister, Genevieve Schemanske; 15 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Crickon was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; daughter, Andrea Kendall; brother, Kenneth Weinzapfel; and sister, Aurelia Lubinski.

Ruth T. Corbett
Ruth Corbett, 91, of Westland died Aug. 24 in Garden City.
Mrs. Corbett was born Jan. 31, 1911, in Vancouver, Canada. She was a bookkeeper.
Surviving are her son, Robert Corbett of Westland; daughter, Betty Jean Hall of Vero Beach, Fla.; sister, Grace Buckley of Sutter Creek, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Charlotte L. Bromley
Services for former Westland resident Charlotte Bromley, 72, of Higgins Lake were Aug. 24 in Mt. Hope Lutheran Church, Grayling. Officiating was the Rev. Steven E. Thiel.
Mrs. Bromley was born Dec. 28, 1929, in Detroit and died Aug. 16 at her home in Higgins Lake. She spent her weekends at the lake since 1980 and moved there 1991. She was employed 20 years with South Redford school district, beginning as a bus driver and becoming superintendent of transportation, retiring in 1991. She was a member of Mt. Hope Lutheran Church in Grayling.
Surviving are her husband, Dick; children, Sherry Bromley of Taylor, Charlene Noone of Fenton, Shelly Watson of North Land-O-Lakes and Cheryl (Greg) Houston of Attica; brothers, Warren (Marge) Dickeson of Grand Rapids and Howard Dickeson of Utica; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Jacqueline L. Killeen

Mrs. Killeen was born April 15, 1967, in Michigan and died Aug. 22 in Ann Arbor. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband, Craig; children, Brooke, C.J. and Jack; parents, Anne (the late Jack) Kropik; and sisters, Lynda, Debbie and Barbie. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Virginia Louise Pender

Mrs. Pender was born July 2, 1915, and died Aug. 21 in Livonia. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her children, Shirley (Jerry) Patrick, Robert (Yvonne) Thomas, Gary (Laurie) Elliott, Susan (Terry) Early and Sandy (Mike) Campbell; brother, Donald Chamberlain; sister, Verna Harris; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Esco Ralph Thomas Jr.
Private services for Esco Thomas Jr., 78, of Westland were Aug. 24 in Uht Funeral Home with burial at Cadillac Memorial Gardens West, Westland.
Mr. Thomas was born July 27, 1924, and died Aug. 18 in Plymouth. He was an assembler.
Surviving are his son, Warren (Debbie) Esco; daughter, Connie Thomas; mother, Grace Thomas; sister, Charlotte Brodbeck; and three grandchildren, Rober Rodriguez, Lahna Thomas and Ashleigh Thomas.
Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Esco Thomas.
Dean A. Hall

Mr. Hall was born Oct. 10, 1914, and died Aug. 19 in Westland. He was an operations engineer.
Surviving are his wife, Josephine; sons, Richard (Monica) Hall and Gerald (Nancy) Hall; sister, Ione Fabro; and two granddaughters, Richelle Hall and Jerri Hall.
Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his brother, Glenn Hall, and sister, Lois Rudeck.

Ava Doris Dawson

Mrs. Dawson was born Nov. 10, 1910, and died Aug. 22 in Westland. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her son, John (the late Donna) Dawson; daughter, Jane (Marty) Justice; four grandchildren, Denise Ayres, Thomas Dawson, Paul Justice and Chris Justice; and many great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Dawson was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Dawson.
Frank M. Miskovitch
Services for Frank Miskovitch, 72, of Westland were Aug. 24 in Vermeulen Funeral Home with the Rev. Jonathan D. Allen officiating.
Mr. Miskovitch was born Oct. 7, 1929, in L'Anse, Mich., and died Aug. 22 in Wayne. He was a superintendent in the carpentry trade. He was a veteran.
Surviving are his children, Christi Scott of Lincoln Park, Edward Miskovitch of Yulee, Fla., Frank Miskovitch of Belleville, Francis Schuman of Yulee, Fla., and Debbie Reno of Jackson; and sisters, Ann Sievert of Southfield, Stella Rogers of L'Anse and Mary Hermann of L'Anse.
Mr. Miskovitch was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Cox.
Thomas Joseph Hankins
A funeral Mass for Thomas Hankins, 69, of Livonia was Aug. 27 in St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Dearborn. Officiating was the Rev. William Brennan.
Mr. Hankins was born Oct. 4, 1932, in Detroit and died Aug. 23 in Southfield. He was a former resident of Brighton and Dearborn Heights. He was an inspector for General Motors, retiring in 1986 after 36 years of service.
Mr. Hankins served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Livonia VFW Post No. 3941.
Surviving are his sons, Mark of Dearborn, Michael of Westland, Jeffrey of Ypsilanti, Thomas of Melvindale and Charles of Fenton; daughters, Barbara Birecki of Taylor, Joanne Hankins of Romulus and Mary Martin of Dearborn; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Hankins was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara.

Raymond E. King
A memorial Mass for Raymond King, 80, of Livonia was today, Thursday, Aug. 29, in St. Theodore Catholic Church, Westland.
Mr. King was born Sept. 28, 1921, in Detroit and died Aug. 26. He worked for Detroit Ball Bearing 37 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of St. Theodore Parish and active in the Men's Club. He was an avid musician.
Surviving are his wife, Cathy; children, Gary (Linda) King, Kathi (Mike) Prentice and Larry (Debi) King; sister, Kathleen Trulson of Anacortes, Wash.; and eight grandchildren.
