Charlie Sanders
Services for Charlie Sanders, 79, of Garden City were Oct. 31 in R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home with entombment at Cadillac Memorial Gardens West, Westland. Officiating was Brother Alan Jones from Palmer Road Church of Christ.
Mr. Sanders was born March 11, 1923, in Rover, Tenn., and died Oct. 28, 2002, in Garden City. He was a retired inspector for Hydromatics.
He lived in this community many years. Mr. Sanders loved fishing, gardening, walking and sightseeing. He donated much of his time visiting the elderly at nursing homes.
Surviving are his wife, Chris; children, Joyce (Lee) Nicholson, Norma Cross, Charles (Elizabeth), Ann Weber, Kenny (Peggy) and David; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Evelyn Rita Dolan
Private family services for Evelyn Dolan, 79, of Garden City were held recently. Arrangements were made by Bell-Borek Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel.
Mrs. Dolan was born Feb. 1, 1923, and died Oct. 30, 2002, in University Hospital. She was a bank teller 29 years for National Bank of Detroit.
Surviving are sons, Dennis (Jean) Dolan of Whitmore Lake, Craig (Leslie) Dolan of Levering, Mich. and Tim Dolan of Houghton Lake; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Dolan was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde 1985.
Arlene Helen Cook
Services for Arlene Cook, 73, of Garden City were Oct. 29 in St. Raphael Church, Garden City with burial at St. Hedwig Cemetery, Dearborn Heights. Officiating was the Rev. Frederick Misiolek.
Mrs. Cook was born July 20, 1929, in Garden City, and died Oct. 25, 2002, in Garden City. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her sons, Terry (Jeri) Pulford and Jody Cook; daughter, Sandy (Steve) Lewellin; brothers, Roland, Roger and Jerry Campbell; many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her son, Lonnie Pulford.

Donald R. Callender
Services for Donald Callender, 81, of Garden City were Oct. 29 in John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home with burial at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton Township. Officiating was the Rev. Charles Allen Packer from First Congregational Church in Rockwood.
Mr. Callender was born Jan. 29, 1921, in Kenton, Ohio, and died Oct. 25, 2002, in Garden City. He was a route salesman.
Surviving are his sons, Michael (Anita) Callender of Garden City and Douglas Callender; daughter, Cheryl Moore; brother, William; sisters, Arlene Nutter, Avonell, Betty Snyder, Joan and Beverly; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Mr. Callender was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia.

Marian L. Ferch
Services for Marian Ferch, 80, of Romulus were Oct. 28 in St. Aloysius Catholic Church with burial at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Mich. Officiating was the Rev. Festus Ejimadu.
Mrs. Ferch was born Aug. 15, 1922, in Detroit, and died Oct. 25, 2002, in Wayne. She was a cashier in retail sales. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church.
Surviving are her sons, Frank (Roxanne) Esch of Chatham, Ontario, Canada, and Robert (Frances) Esch of Mississippi.; daughter, Irene (Gerald) Wendland of Romulus; sisters, Beulah Mack of Garden City and Donna Golden of Detroit; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Vernon O. Scott
Services for Vernon Scott, 86, of Garden City were Oct. 28 in L.J. Griffin Funeral Home, Westland, with the Rev. Roger Stombaugh from United Baptist Church officiating.
Mrs. Scott was born Aug. 28, 1916 in Putnam County, W. Va., and died Oct. 26, 2002, at her home in Garden City. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her children, Mona (James) Previch, Marion Thomason and Barbara (Carl) Smith; sister, Helen Kemplin; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her husband, Lubie.
Allan W. Price
Services for former Garden City resident Allan Price, 57, of Plymouth were Oct. 24 in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Plymouth with burial at St. Hedwig Cemetery, Dearborn Heights. Officiating was the Rev. Doc Ortman.
Mr. Price was born March 31, 1945, in Detroit, and died Oct. 19, 2002, in Detroit. He worked for General Motors, retiring after 35 years of service. He was a UAW member and also participated in the Volunteer Fire Brigade at General Motors. He received several perfect attendance awards during his career. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish for 25 years.
Mr. Price attended many continuing education classes, including auto body repair, computer classes and the Dale Carnegie Course. He had an interest in antique and classic cars, enjoyed listening to Motown and oldies music. Along with attending his sons' basketball games, he loved playing darts, softball and golf.
Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Marlene; sons, Timothy Price of Livonia and Brian Price of Plymouth; siblings, Melvin Price of Florida, Jean Way of British Columbia, Canada, Virginia Marrs of Florida, Ronald Price of Florida, Evelyn Logsdon of Plymouth and Philip Price of Florida.
Mr. Price was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Edna Price.

Vera A. Dyer
Services for Vera A. Dyer, 80, of South Lyon, were held Oct. 24 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Plymouth.
Mrs. Dyer was born Jan. 12, 1922 in Standish and died Oct. 21 in South Lyon. She moved to South Lyon in 1998 from Plymouth, where she resided for 57 years.
Mrs. Dyer worked for Ford Motor Company Livonia Transmission Plant in Livonia for 10 years on the assembly line. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish in Plymouth.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Dyer in 1958.
Survivors include children, Darlene (Bennie) Richmond of Jonesville, Mich., Shelly Davis of Tenn., Larry (Debbie) Dyer of Plymouth, Steve (Mary) Dyer of Garden City, Mark (Karen) Dyer of South Lyon; three brothers; one sister; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Baker was born July 24, 1957, in Dearborn, and died Oct. 19, 2002, in Wayne. She worked in sales. She was a member of St. Richard Catholic Church.
Surviving are her daughters, Jennifer (Jacob) Conley, Rebecca Baker and Kailey Baker of Wayne; mother, Geraldine Pociask of Westland; Sister, Denise (Greg) Hislop of Westland; grandsons, Brondon Conley and Cody Conley; and fiancé, Brad Howell of Garden City.
Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her father, Theodore Pociask and grandmother, Virginia Krause.
Deborah Lock Gladstone

Thomas Keeling

Mr. Keeling was born May 25, 1926, in Newcastle, Staffordshire, England, and died Oct. 19, 2002, in Garden City. He was a Garden City retired police sergeant. He was a World War II veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Donna; children, Denice Andrews, Harry (Edina) Keeling, Richard (Esther) Keeling, Deborah Westbrook, Bonnie Evans and Karen Tsakos; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Joseph A. Macadlo

Mr. Macadlo was born March 18, 1908, in Lilly, Pa., and died Oct. 20, 2002, in Garden City. He was a machine set-up man.

Theresa E. Wilke
Services for former Garden City resident Theresa Wilke, 87, of Wixom were today, Thursday, Oct. 24, in St. Raphael Catholic Church with burial at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights. Officiating was the Rev. Fred Misiolek.
Mrs. Wilke was born June 27, 1915, in Newark, N.J., and died Oct. 21, 2002, in Commerce Township. She was a Garden City resident 35 years before moving to Wixom. She was a sales clerk for J.L. Hudsons and a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church.
Surviving are her children, Gloria (Donald) Cowan, Sylvia (Jerome) Ladach and Gerald (Robbin) Wilke; sisters, Rose Plovic and Elizabeth Panaretos; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Meyer E. Shon
Private services for Meyer Shon, 91, of Westland were held recently. Arrangements were by John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home.
Mr. Shon, known as "Mike," died Oct. 6. He worked at Hershey's Shoes in Garden City 1975-85.
Surviving are his wife, Maybelle; daughters, Virginia Williams and Sara Lightfoot; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Shon was preceded in death by his son, Larry.

Peter E. Darocha
A Celebration of Life service for former Livonia resident Peter Darocha, 61, of Tacoma, Wash., was held Oct. 12 in Uht Funeral Home, Westland.
Mr. Darocha was born May 5, 1941, and died Oct. 5. He was retired from Ford Motor Co. He grew up in Harbor Beach, Mich., then resided in Wayne, Garden City, Livonia and Westland. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Darocha enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and riding his motorcycle. If he had a motto to live by, it was, "Give that guy a hand."
Surviving are his wife, Diane; son, Peter Darocha; daughter, Sandra Richardson; stepchildren, Bobbie Closser, Tom Vashaw and Rene Jankiewicz; siblings, Pauline Macheal, Bill Darocha, Mike Darocha and Val Wilson; grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

April Ann Taddonio
A funeral Mass for April Taddonio, 47, of Pinckney was Oct. 16 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Dexter with burial at St. Joseph Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Taddonio was born April 1, 1954, in Ypsilanti, and died Oct. 12, 2002, in Ann Arbor. She lived most of her life in Washtenaw County and was employed at Dapco.
Surviving are her husband of 10 years, Richard; children, Jeff (Vickie) Lobdell of Ann Arbor, Lisa (Chris) Stankowski of Gwinn, Mich., Tanja Taddonio of Belleville, Swane Clayton of Garden City and Scotti Clayton of Farmington Hills; mother, Blanche (Ditmar) Schmidt of Pinckney; brother, David (Diana) Boudrie of Ann Arbor; sister, Sandra (John) Grammatico of Pinckney; and three grandchildren, Crystal Potter, Christopher and Dakota Stankowski. There are family members who reside in the Livonia area.
