Services for Anna Kopriva, 93, of Livonia were Dec. 10 in St. Priscilla Church, with burial at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Kopriva was born July 26, 1909 in Branch, Pa., and died Dec. 6, 2002, in Farmington Hills. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her children, Peter (Lucille), Louis (Betty), Pauline (Nick) Voytovich and Tom; one brother; four sisters; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Kopriva was preceded in death by her husband, Peter, and one grandchild.

Jean Lucille Steiner
A funeral Mass for Jean Steiner, 78, of Livonia was Dec. 9 in St. Edith Catholic Church in Livonia.
Mrs. Steiner was born in Detroit, and died Dec. 4, 2002, in Livonia. She was a cashier at a drug store.
Surviving are her sons, Neil (Debbie) and Craig (Patricia); daughter, Susan (John) Poggione; sister, Dorothy Eagle; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Mrs. Steiner was preceded in death by her husband, Jack.

Lewis Freeman Schultz
A memorial service for Lewis Schultz of Livonia will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, in Cherry Hill Baptist Church, 1045 N. Gulley, Dearborn Heights. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until time of service.
Mr. Schultz died Dec. 7, 2002.

Kenneth C. Papich
Services for Kenneth Papich, 78, of Farmington Hills will be Friday, Dec. 13, in St. Lazarus-Ravanica Orthodox Church with burial at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Papich was born Oct. 24, 1924, in Yogoslovia, and died Dec. 9, 2002, at his home in Farmington Hills. He was a manufacturer's agent.
Surviving are his wife, Lillian; son, Robert Papich; daughter, Carol Stearns; brother, Michael Papich; and three grandchildren.
There are family members who reside in the Livonia community.

Donna J. McQuaid
A Celebration of Life service for Donna McQuaid, 59, of Livonia will be 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, in Harry J. Will Funeral Home in Livonia, with burial at Oakland Hills Cemetery in Novi. Visitation is 3-9 p.m. today, Thursday, Dec. 12, at the funeral home, 37000 Six Mile Road, Livonia.
Mrs. McQuaid died Dec. 9, 2002. She was a 10-year volunteer, raising and training dogs for the Leader Dogs for the Blind.
Surviving are her children, Mark (Annette) MacDonald, Michael (Barbara) MacDonald, Michelle (Andrew) McKay and Russell McQuaid; mother, Jeanne Drennan; sister, Lori Bacon; and six grandchildren.
Mrs. McQuaid was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Harlow.

Mr. Davis was born Aug. 24, 1932, in Pittsburgh, Pa., and died Dec. 7, 2002, in Farmington Hills. He was employed in the trucking industry.

Roger C. Sanford
Services for Roger Sanford, 79, of Livonia were Dec. 11 in Schrader-Howell Funeral Home in Plymouth, with burial at Riverside Cemetery inPlymouth. Officiating was the Rev. Bob Ray.
Mr. Sanford was born April 9, 1923, in Ellettsville, Ind., and died Dec. 8, 2002, in Livonia.
He was a millwright for General Motors Livonia Engine Plant, retiring after 34 years of service. He came to the Livonia community in 1959 from Wayne. He loved to hunt, fish and was an avid sportsman.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Jewell "Judy"; son, Roger (Lee-Ann) Sanford of Wixom; daughter, Anita (Ralph) Wastier of Canton; sisters, Ruth (Ronald) Blackburn of Ypsilanti and Anna Mann of Westland; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Several neices and nephews also survive.
Mr. Sanford was preceded in death by a grandson, Roger Scott Sanford.
Edward Frank Zombeck

Mr. Zombeck was born May 25, 1925, in Windber, Pa., and died Dec. 2, 2002, in Farmington Hills. He was an electrician.

Mrs. McKelvey was born April 15, 1921, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, and died Dec. 3, 2002, in Livonia. She was a former resident of Farmington Hills. She was a teacher's aid for Farmington Public Schools (Eagle School). She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church.
Surviving are her children, Daniel (Maureen) McKelvey of Okemos, Christine (Geoffrey) Simpson and Susan (David) Andrews; sisters, Arlene (Jack) Curd and Joyce Dobrick; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. McKelvey was preceded in death by her husband, Marshal.

Jeanette E. Rank
Services for former Livonia resident Jeanette Rank, 84, of Chelsea were Dec. 7 in Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home in Chelsea, with burial at Maple Grove Cemetery in Sylvan Township. Officiating was the Rev. William C. Moore from Trinity Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Rank was born March 3, 1918, in Belleville, and died Dec. 4, 2002, in Ann Arbor. She was a graduate of Belleville High School and received her bachelor's and master's degrees in teaching from Eastern Michigan University. She taught special education in the Livonia School system for many years. She enjoyed reading, sewing, shopping for clothes and jewelry, and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her son, David (Virginia) Rank of Grass Lake; brother, James (Joan) Sayre of Belleville; sister, Winnifred Wolfe of Plymouth; grandchildren, James (Anna) Herter, Christopher (Cynthia) Herter and Matthew Herter; great-grandson, Benjamin; and sister-in-law, Lucile Sayre.
Mrs. Rank was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, and daughter, Karen Herter.

Elsie Russell
Services for Elsie Russell, 93, of Livonia will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at St. Kenneth Catholic Church in Plymouth Township, with the Rev. Joseph Mallia officiating.
Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at Neely-Turowski Funeral Home in Livonia. She died Saturday, Nov. 30, at Providence Hospital in Southfield.
Mrs. Russell was born July 12, 1909, in Germany and came to the United States at the age of 12. She lived in the Detroit area before moving to California when her husband, Walter, retired in 1965. She worked in industrial sewing for the automotive industry and in aircraft parts assembly.
Mrs. Russell enjoyed reading, baking, gardening and watching "Wheel of Fortune."
Over the years, summer visits to Michigan found Mrs. Russell working the Farhat family garden plot at Greenmead's community gardens, traveling Up North and spending time with an ever-expanding crowd of great-grandchildren. She was anxiously awaiting the birth of her 11th great-grandchild in February.
Mrs. Russell returned to Livonia in September to live with her daughter, Betty Farhat, and enjoy time with her Michigan family.
During the past two months, she visited a casino with the Livonia Travel Club, attended Livonia Questers and Historical Society activities, saw Mandy Patinkin in concert while visiting her great-granddaughter at Michigan State University, traveled Up North to her grandson's cottage and volunteered at Seedlings Braille Books for Children. Watching her happily rake the fall leaves in her daughter's yard, one could hardly tell she was 93.
Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, her brother, Albert, and sisters, Linda and Amanda.
Survivors include her children, Betty Farhat, Robert (Shirley) Russell and Barbara Watts, sister Faye Hewitt, eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Kenneth Arden Bateman
A memorial service for Kenneth Bateman, 87, of Birmingham was Nov. 25 in William Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, Royal Oak.
Mr. Bateman was born July 9, 1915, in Denton, Texas, and died Nov. 22, 2002, in Royal Oak.
He was retired form Livonia Public School system where he was principal at Tyler School 1959-1981. He worked in Washington D.C. with the U.S. Education Office, Division of International Education, as senior specialist in International Education 1951-1955. He worked at Wayne State University assigned to Department of Elementary Education and Educational Sociology.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia; children, Keith (Susan) Bateman of Glen Ellyn, Ill. and Kim (Frances) Bateman of Huntington Woods; and four grandchildren, Karl, Virginia, Leigh and Carrie (Greg) Palmer.
Mr. Bateman was preceded in death by his brother, Murrell Bateman.
Patricia M. Smith

Mrs. Smith died Nov. 28, 2002.

Irene Nixon
A memorial service for former Livonia resident Irene "Winnie" Nixon, 93, of Crown Point, Ind. will be at noon on Sunday, Dec. 8, in Newburg Methodist Church, 36500 Ann Arbor Trail, Livonia.
Mrs. Nixon was born May 4, 1909, in Ottumwa, Iowa, and died Oct. 22, 2002. She was employed by R.L. Polk and Co., Detroit. She was the organist at Newburg Methodist Church, retiring in 1978 after 30 years.
Surviving are her son, David of Crown Point, Ind.; daughter, Carole Tompkins of Howell; grandchildren, Jeffrey Nixon of Cincinnati, Ohio, John Nixon of Cedar Lake, Ind., James (Jennifer) Nixon of Colorado Springs, Colo., Kimberley Brendel of Howell and Joseph Tompkins of Waterford; two great-grandchildren, Garrett Nixon and William (Adriene) Tompkins; and great-great-grandchild, Jacob Tompkins.

Mrs. Zimmerman died Dec. 2, 2002. She was a member of the Livonia Garden Club and the Legion of Mary Auxilary.

Dorothy Janisse

She worked for the city of Livonia and was a member of St. Priscilla Church.
Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Frederick; children, Gary (Carolyn) Janisse, Lisa (Gary) Abundis, Angela Janisse, Anthony (Jill) Janisse; siblings, Ralph Janisse, Norman Derrick, Robert Derrick and Mabel Jones; and seven grandchildren.
Preceding in death were her brothers, Peter and Eugene Derrick, sister Grace Anderson.

Yvonne Reinholtz
Services for Yvonne Reinholtz, 60, of Livonia were Friday, Nov. 29, from St. Edith Catholic Church, with the Rev. Timothy J. Murray officiating.
Mrs. Reinholtz was born Oct. 23, 1942, in Elliott, Ky. and died Nov. 26 at her residence. She owned and operated her own restaurant.

Gladys Laura Bassett

Mrs. Bassett was born June 4, 1919, in Detroit and died Nov. 25 at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn.

Frances J. Moore
Frances Moore, 84, of Livonia died Nov. 21, 2002, in Superior Township. A memorial service will be held in Trinity Presbyterian Church in Plymouth at a later date.
Mrs. Moore was born Nov. 7, 1918, in Canton, Ohio. She lived in Livonia since 1951.
She was a sales representative for home gift items. She had her own showroom at Mags in Northville for 25 years. Mrs. Moore was past governor of Soroptimist Club-Livonia, was a member of Eastern Star and was politically active in Livonia.
Surviving are her son, Karl (Charlotte) Kennedy; sisters, Florence Magill of California, Kay Weaver of Wisconsin and Joyce Beckwith of Arizona; three grandchildren, Kimberly Bouse, Patrick Kennedy and Lindsay Kennedy; and four great-grandchildren, Jack Churchill, Mattie Kennedy, Curt Bouse and Trey Bouse.
Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband, John.
Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Jackson.
