Services for Mary Garchow, 85, of Livonia were Nov. 27 in Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, with burial at Livonia Center Cemetery. Officiating was the Rev. Roy Forsyth.
Mrs. Garchow was born Feb. 6, 1917, in Detroit, and died Nov. 23, 2002, in Livonia.
She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Livonia. She loved to vacation on Drummond Island, cook, sew and read.
Surviving are her son, Jon (Linda) Garchow of Wixom; sister, Lorna Schaffer of Livonia; and two granddaughters, Deborah Garchow of Wixom and Laura Garchow of Wixom.
Mrs. Garchow was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Garchow.

Colin S. Gillan
Services for Colin Gillan of Livonia were Nov. 26 in the chapel of L.J. Griffin Funeral Home, with burial at Grand Lawn Cemetery in Detroit. Officiating was the Rev. Drexwl E. Morton from St. Michael Lutheran Church.
Mr. Gillan died Nov. 22, 2002.
Surviving are his son, Thomas; grandson, Matthew; and several nieces and nephews.
Edith Buck
A funeral Mass for Edith Buck, 94, of Livonia was Nov. 26 in St. Gerald Catholic Church, with burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield. Officiating was the Rev. Gerald McEnhill.
Mrs. Buck was born Jan. 1, 1908, in Detroit, and died Nov. 22, 2002, in Livonia. She was a former resident of Farmington Hills.
Mrs. Buck was a supervisor with Detroit Shopping News, retiring in 1973. She was a former member of St. Gerald Catholic Church.
Surviving are her children, Shirley Seger of Livonia, William (Janice) Buck of Hartland and James (Sandi) Buck of Dearborn Heights; brother-in-law, Harvey Buck; 11 grandchildren, William Jr., Michael, Joseph, Allison, Raymond, Lisa, Geri, Ralph, Raymond, Ronald and Ken; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Buck was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond.

Mary Montes
Services for Mary Montes, 80, of Westland will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 26 from SS Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church with the Rev. James Stathakios officiating and burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Livonia.
Mrs. Montes was born July 13, 1922 in Zeigler, Ill. and died Nov. 23 in Detroit. She was a homemaker and belonged to SS Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church.
Survivors include her husband, Manuel; daughter Mary Merrill of Garden City; sons Ricardo of Novi and Andrew (Diane) Montes of Livonia and sister Helen Lucakis of Plymouth Township.

Walter R. Gazda
Services for Walter R. Gazda, 82, of Redford, were held Nov. 27 at Our Lady of Loretto Church in Redford, with burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit.
Mr. Gazda was born Jan. 22, 1920, in Holyoke, Mass., and died Nov. 23, 2002, at Heartland-Dorvin Nursing Home in Livonia. He worked as a truck driver for Chrysler Corporation until his retirement in 1976 and was a member of Our Lady of Loretto Church in Redford.
He is survived by his wife, Rita; daughter, Sue (John) Buck; grandchildren, John Jr. and Anni; and brother, Stanley (Eleanor).

Donalda Joyce Cadieux
Services for Donalda Cadieux, 74, of Livonia were today, Thursday, Nov. 21, in St. Aidan Catholic Church, with burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemtery. Officiating was the Rev. Ronald Kurzawa from St. Aidan Catholic Church.
Mrs. Cadieux was born June 14, 1928, in Detroit, and died Nov. 17, 2002, at her home in Livonia. She lived in this community 15 years.
Mrs. Cadieux was a retired case worker for the State of Michigan. She was a member of St. Aidan Catholic Church in Livonia. Mrs. Cadieux enjoyed reading, interior decorating and music (blues and jazz).
Surviving are her husband of 16 years, John "Jack" Munro; children, Marguerite "Peggy" (John) McCray, David, Mark, the late Matthew, Thomas (Susan), Catherine "Kitty" (Michael) Shecter and Shirley; siblings, Margaret (John) and the late John, Angus, Eileen and Rae; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild, Crystal.

Mrs. Puckett was born Aug. 9, 1925, in Pickford, Mich., and died Nov. 15, 2002, in Northville. She was a graduate of Sault St. Marie High School. She was the former owner of Peppertree Restaurant in Northville. She was a manager at Rush Lake Golf Club. Mrs. Puckett was a member of Lakeland Golf and Country Club.

Thomas B. O'Connor

Mr. O'Connor was born Dec. 22, 1922, in Canada, and died Nov. 15, 2002, in Farmington Hills. He was a carpenter.

Ralph E. Mortonson

Mr. Mortonson was born Dec. 29, 1931, in Boston, Mass., and died Nov. 10, 2002, in Livonia. He was an administrator at a medical university.
Surviving are his children, Susan, Ralph II and Jennifer; two grandchildren, Ralph III and Tara; and best friend, Mark Standley.
Mr. Mortonson was preceded in death by his wife, Stella.
John Patrick Lapham
Services for John Lapham, 61, of Farmington Hills were Nov. 20 in Thayer-Rock Funeral Home in Farmington. Officiating was the Rev. Loren O'Dea from Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.
Mr. Lapham was born July 19, 1941, in Pontiac, and died Nov. 15, 2002, at his home in Farmington Hills. He had lived in this community since 1941. He was an innkeeper for Holiday Inn. He enjoyed golf, bowling and other sports.
Surviving are his wife of six years, Jan; brother, Harry (Joyce Kelly) Lapham; and nieces and nephews, Matt, Colleen, Andrew, Melissa, Kati and Ben. Family members reside in Livonia, Bloomfield Hills and Westland.
Mr. Lapham was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle.

John Bernard Randall

Mr. Randall was born April 22, 1927, and died Nov. 16, 2002, in Livonia. He was a custodian.
Surviving are his wife, Bernadette; daughter, Gale (Jerry) Henry; brothers, Brank Randall and Oliver Randall; sisters, Rosella Caldwell and Viola Haney; granddaughters, Kimberly and Jennifer Randall; and great-granddaughter, Paige Randall.
There are family members who reside in Livonia and Westland.

Patricia Jean Anderson

Mrs. Anderson was born April 21, 1937, and died Nov. 16, 2002, in Livonia. She was a secretary.

Glenn Lee VanTuyl
Visitation for former Livonia resident Glenn VanTuyl, 75, of Ann Arbor was Nov. 15 in Muehlig Funeral Chapel, Ann Arbor with burial Nov. 16 at White Chapel Memorail Cemetery, Troy.
Mr. VanTuyl died Nov. 13, 2002.

Katherine I. Anderson
Services for Katherine Anderson, 78, of Livonia were Nov. 18 in Christ The King Lutheran Church with burial at Glen Eden Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Anderson was born Jan. 12, 1924, in St. Cloud, Minn., and died Nov. 14, 2002, in Garden City.
She was a homemaker, who was also active as a Cub Scout Den Mother and room mother at her son's school. She was a long time member of Christ the King Lutheran Church, where she was a Sunday and Bible School teacher and involved with several groups.
Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Sew and Sews group that made cancer pads for area hospitals. She stitched several different items for the giving tree at church and was involved in the church welcoming committee.
She was also a member of the Crafty Ladies sewing group and the Young at Hearts senior group. One of her greatest joys was playing the piano; she was an organist in her family's church.
Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Stanley; sons, Ted ( Ellen), Phillip (fiancee Karen) and David (Susan); brother, Gene Nordberg; and six grandchildren, Megan, Katie, Aaron, Abby, Kyle and Kelsey.
Gerald L. Tourville
A funeral Mass for Gerald "Jerry" Tourville, 74, of Livonia was Nov. 13 in St. Michael Catholic Church, with burial at Glen Eden Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Tourville was born Jan. 1, 1928, in Hancock, Mich., and died Nov. 11, 2002, in Westland. He lived in the Livonia area 47 years.
He worked at Dodge Main and Lyons Inc. as a millwright. He retired from Ford as a maintenance superintendent in 1988.
Mr. Tourville served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Evelyn; son, Tracy; Aunt Betty and numerous nieces and nephews.

James J. Larente
Services for former Redford resident James Larente, 79, of Higgins Lake were Nov. 19 in Houghton Lake United Methodist Church, Houghton Lake. Officiating was the Rev. Calvin Long.
Mr. Larente was born Aug. 29, 1923, in Detroit, and died at his home in Higgins Lake.
He was a safety inspector for Bell Telephone. He moved from Redford to Higgins Lake in 1993 and he was a member of Houghton Lake United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his children, Jeff Larente of Nevada, James Larente of California, Jonathan Larente of Novi, Mich. and Jerome Larente of Caro, Mich; brothers, Hank Larente of Higgins Lake and Edward Larente of Livonia; sisters, Anette Patalon of Houghton Lake and Sr. Marie DeLourdes of Wisconsin; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Edward C. Register

Mr. Register was born Aug. 8, 1953, in Georgia, and died Nov. 7, 2002, at his home in Livonia. He lived in this area 16 years. He was a maintenance supervisor for Roush Industries and Air Centric Companies. He enjoyed golf and bowling.

Violet A. Dolin
Services for Violet Dolin, 78, of Livonia were Nov. 12 in First United Methodist Church of Garden City with burial at White Chapel Cemetery, Troy.
Mrs. Dolin died Nov. 10, 2002.
Surviving are her son, Kevin (Mary); daughter, Christine; brother, James (Alyne) Wilson; four grandchildren, Laurel, Lindsay, Kieran and Derek; and many nieces and nephews.
