DeVoy Sexton
A memorial service for DeVoy Sexton, 80, of Livonia was Oct. 11 in Fisher Funeral Home, Redford Township. Private burial was at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Aususta, Mich.
Mr. Sexton was born Aug. 7, 1922, in Chassee, Mo., and died Oct. 7, 2002, in Livonia.
Surviving are his children, Sherry Haddock, Todd (Cheryl), Patrick (Marnie), David (June) Sexton, and Yvonne (Floyd), Barbara (Jim) and Sharon (Bill); and many grandchildren.

Clare D. McGarry
Services for Clare McGarry, 78, of Highland (formerly of Plymouth) were held Oct. 28 at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy G. Forsyth officiating. Burial was at Oak Grove Cemetery in Dixboro.
Mr. McGarry was born Oct. 7, 1924 in Bloomingdale, Mich., and died Oct. 24 in Howell. He was a retired manufacturing supervisor who came to the Highland community in 2001 from Plymouth. He loved to fish and do woodcarving and was a member of the Whitmore Lake Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed playing the harmonica, bowling, golfing and water skiing. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Survivors include children, Ted (Maryann) McGarry of Jackson, Norman (Patricia Ann) McGarry of Milford, and Jean (Ray) Ryan of Highland; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Eugene L. Jordan
Services for Eugene Jordan, 86, of Plymouth, were held Oct. 25 at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home with Mr. Sanford Burr officiating. Burial was at Riverside Cemetery in Plymouth.
Mr. Jordan was born Jan. 21, 1916 in New Bremen, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Clement J. Bojke
Services for Clement Bojke, 81, of Westland, were held Oct. 29 at the L.J. Griffin Funeral Home Canton Chapel. Burial was at St. Hedwig Cemetery.
Mr. Bojke was born Nov. 13, 1920 in Detroit and died Oct. 26 in Westland. He worked as a supervisor in the automotive field.
Mr. Bojke was preceded in death by his wife, Lottie P.; and daughter, Vickie Koontz.
Survivors include daughters, Yvonne M. (Frank) Hinzman, Claudia A. (Jerry) Swims, Kimberly A. (Robert) Eller; brother, Leonard Rusk; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Blessing Holda
Services for Blessing Holda, 86, of Canton were held Oct. 29 at the Chapel of L.J. Griffin Funeral Home with burial at Grand Lawn Cemetery in Detroit.
Mrs. Holda was born May 11, 1916 in Detroit and died Oct. 26 at home. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include husband, Walter W.; daughters, Arlene K. (Harold) Burgess, Janice A. (Donald) Rounds, and Joyce A. (David) Butler; sons, Lawrence O. (Janet), and William P. (Joan); 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Dale J. Kaiser
Services for Dale Kaiser, 80, of Plymouth were held Oct. 28 at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home with Mr. Royce Dickenson officiating. Burial was at Riverside Cemetery in Plymouth.
Mr. Kaiser was born Sept. 25, 1922 in Plymouth and died Oct. 25 in Livonia. He was a retired serviceman for Consumers Power Company. He had spent his whole life in Plymouth. He was a member of the Church of Christ of Plymouth and also belonged to several other clubs in the community. He loved to garden, fish, hunt and travel. He was a loving husband, uncle, great-uncle and friend.

William Torna Reilly
Services for William Reilly, 80, of Plymouth, were held Oct. 30 at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home with the Rev. John Sullivan officiating. Burial was at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Mich.
Mr. Reilly was born Dec. 24, 1921 in Burlington, Massachusetts and died Oct. 28 at home. He was a tool maker for an automotive company.
Survivors include wife, Cecilia; children, Frederick (Diana), Ronald (Theresa), and Randolph; grandchildren, Tim (Tamara), Bradley, Brian (Amy), Stephanie (Aaron) and Jeremy; great-grandchildren Christina, Bailey, Spencer, Julianna, and Logan.

John Martin Howick
Services for John Howick, 40, of Canton, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Bryan, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be sent to the BGSU Foundation for the John and Lisa Howick Book Scholarship at Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Woods for 22 years. He attended Wilbur Wright High School in Detroit in 1944. He was a tool & die journeyman at Dodge Main in Hamtramck. He was in the Navy from 1944-1946. He worked for B&K Hydraulic in Livonia. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Brighton. He enjoyed golfing and water skiing and loved do major home remodeling projtects. He volunteered to construct a playscape in downtown Brighton. He was very active at St. Mary Our Lady of the Snows in Milford.
Survivors include Jeremiah M. Borkowski of Brighton; son, Duane E. Borkowski of Plymouth; and son, Bradley A. Borkowski of Bloomfield Hills.

Casimer J. Kania
Services for Casimer J. Kania of Redford Township were to be held Saturday, Dec. 28, at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church.
Mr. Kania, 75, died Dec. 20 in Garden City.
He was born on Aug. 9, 1927, in Detroit. He had been a stockbroker in the financial industry.
Mr. Kania is survived his wife, Anna; six daughters, Adrienne, Carol Wojciak, Diane Wyborski, Maria, Loretta, and Emily; two sons, Christopher and Joseph; a brother, Raymond; four sisters, Josephine Piegzik, Claire Krol, Mary Ann Giersynski and Sonia Clem; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Krol.
His body was cremated. Arrangements were handled by the L.J. Griffin Funeral Home.

Sally A. Vanzo
Services for Sally A. Vanzo, 54, of Redford Township were Friday, Dec. 27, at Grace Lutheran Church of Redford. Burial followed at Glen Eden Cemetery.
Ms. Vanzo was born March 8, 1948, in Garden City. She died Monday, Dec. 23. She was a cosmetologist for a hair salon and a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Don.
Survivors include her parents, June and Donald Donagan; sons Scott Vanzo and Ronald (Kle) Vanzo; grandchildren Hope and Dominic; brother Mickey (Lynda) Donagan; and sister Susan Monosky.

James Arthur Morse
Services for James Arthur Morse, 70, of Redford Township, were to be held Saturday, Dec. 28, at Neely-Turowski Funeral Home of Livonia. The Rev. Thomas Eggebeen was to officiate.
Mr. Morse was born May 22, 1932, in Detroit. He died Tuesday, Dec. 24. He was formerly employed as a principal and had served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Morse; his mother, Gretchen Morse; daughters Sheri Burns, Shelly Helwig and Cam Jenrow; sisters Adele and Carol; brothers Dick and Ron; and five grandchildren.

Jessica Marie Dalton
Services for Jessica Marie Dalton, 11, of Redford Township, will be held today, Sunday, Dec. 29, at the Fisher Funeral Home.
Jessica was born Feb. 22, 1991, in Garden City. She died Christmas Day in Royal Oak. She was a sixth-grade grade honor student at Hilbert Junior High School in Redford. She had a kind and caring heart and loved to help others.
She is survived by her parents, David and Michele Dalton; a brother, Matthew; grandparents Lloyd and Darlene Dalton and Orlynn and Maureen Wylie; and great-grandparents Mary Williamson and Uta Dalton. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Grant E. Gardner
Services for Grant E. Gardner, 86, of Redford Township, will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 30, at the Livonia Ward of Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, with Bishop G. Brent Ellsworth officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Gardner was born June 16, 1916, in Lehi, Utah. He died Tuesday, Dec. 24. He retired in 1980 from the Chrysler Corp.'s Trenton Engine Plant. His hobby was geneology.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, June.
Survivors include his wife, Willa; sons Richard, Robert (Lou Ann) and David (Jane); daughter Janet; sister Ruth Crownover; and a brother, Paul Gardner.

Shirley J. Cazan
Services for Shirley Cazan, 74, of Redford were Dec. 18 in Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, with burial at Roseland Park Cemetery in Berkley. Officiating was Bishop Brett Ellsworth.
Mrs. Cazan was born July 23, 1928, in Detroit, and died Dec. 13, 2002, in Southfield. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints.
Surviving are her husband, John; children, Christine (Jerry) Gibson, Dennis (Nancy), Keith (Pam), Paul (Teri) and Johanna (James) Hernandez; brothers, Doug (Mary Jane) Bohrer and John (Rita) Bohrer; step-brother, Ronald Crozier; sister, Evelyn (Edward) Rozema; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Beverly Jane Johnson
Services for former Redford resident Beverly Johnson, 79, of Livonia were Dec. 19 in R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home with burial at Glen Eden Memorial Park. Officiating was the Rev. Victor Halboth from Grace Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Johnson was born Jan. 15, 1923, in Detroit, and died Dec. 15, 2002, in Farmington Hills. She came to Livonia eight years ago from Redford.
Mrs. Johnson was a secretary for Farmington Community Schools at the board office.
Surviving are her daughters, Joan Smart, Carol (Steven) Firavich and Marianne Churchill; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Johnson was prececed in death by her husband, Carl; daughter, Sally Cecere; and brother Rev. Robert Richardson.
Rick A. Johnson
Services for Rick Johnson, 59, of Redford were Dec. 16 in Charles R. Step Funeral Home. Officiating was the Rev. Jerry Stroud
Mr. Johnson was born Sept. 12, 1943, in Detroit, and died Dec. 14, 2002, in Farmington Hills. He lived in this community 20 years. He was a bus driver for the City of Detroit.
Surviving are his wife, Catherine; children, Brian (Julie) and Scott; brother, Conrad Johnson; and two grandchildren, Kiefer and Jennifer.
Mary Jozwiak
Services for Mary Jozwiak, 93, of Redford were Dec. 18 in St. Valentine Catholic Church, with burial at St. Hedwig Cemetery, Dearborn Heights. Officiating was the Rev. Thomas Belczak.
Mrs. Jozwiak was born Oct. 2, 1909, in Poland, and died Dec. 14 at her home in Redford. She was a caterer.
Surviving are her children, Thomas (Mimi) Jozwiak and Joanna (Edward) Mikula of Redford; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Jozwiak was preceded in death by her son, Ted Jozwiak.

Angeline Marie Wills
Services for Angeline Wills, 77, of Detroit will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, in Our Lady of Loretto Catholic Church, with the Rev. J.J. Mech officiating. Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today, Thursday, and 2-9 p.m. Friday in Charles R. Step Funeral Home, 18425 Beech Daly Road, Redford.
Mrs. Wills was born Sept. 9, 1925, in Star City, W. Va., and died Dec. 17, 2002, in Farmington Hills. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Our Lady of Loretto Catholic Church.
Surviving are her husband, Leslie; sons, John (Carol), Rodney and Alan (Carol); 10 brothers and sisters; five grandchildren, Michelle, Laura, Michael, Tracie and Kristin; and four great-grandchildren, Darian, Kylee, Rebecca and Colan James.
