Mr. Randall was born April 22, 1927, and died Nov. 16, 2002, in Livonia. He was a custodian.
Surviving are his wife, Bernadette; daughter, Gale (Jerry) Henry; brothers, Brank Randall and Oliver Randall; sisters, Rosella Caldwell and Viola Haney; granddaughters, Kimberly and Jennifer Randall; and great-granddaughter, Paige Randall.
There are family members who reside in Livonia and Westland.
Mr. Randall was preceded in death by his sister, Myrtle Randall.
Steven John Poupard

Mr. Poupard was born Dec. 16, 1966, in Detroit, and died Nov. 17, 2002, at his home in Westland. He worked in restaurant equipment repair.
Surviving are his parents, Irving and Diana; brothers, Gary (Nora) and Kenneth (Sarah); four nieces and nephews.
Casimir Wekwert
Services for Casimir Wekwert, 87, of Westland were Nov. 20 in St. Richard Catholic Church with burial at Detroit Memorial Park West.
Mr. Wekwert was born Feb. 24, 1915, in Alpena, and died Nov. 17, 2002, in Farmington Hills. He was an auto mechanic for the U.S. Army.
Surviving are his brother, Louis (Theresa) Wekwert; sister, Lillian Mulka; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.
Mr. Wekwert was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Marvin E. Brooks
Services for Marvin Brooks, 68, of Canton were Nov. 20 in Vermeulen Funeral Home. Officiating was the Rev. Drex Morton.
Mr. Brooks was born Dec. 10, 1933, in Detroit, and died Nov. 17, 2002, in Canton. He was a hi-lo driver for a tire manufacturer.
Surviving are his wife, Nadine; children, Larry (Diane) Brooks of Canton, Diane (Steve) Moser of Westland, Brenda (Ron) Jenks of Canton, Albert Brooks of Canton, and David Brooks of Canton; brother, Bob Brooks of Florida; sister, Gloria Fitzpatrick of Florida; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Brooks.

David A. Slezak
Services for David Slezak, 72, of Houghton Lake were Nov. 11 in Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, Plymouth. Officiating was the Rev. John J. Sullivan.
Mr. Slezak was born Feb. 22, 1930 in Detroit, and died Nov. 7, 2002, in Livonia. He was retired from the Department of Public Works in Plymouth. He moved to the Houghton Lake community from Plymouth in 1992.
Mr. Slezak served in the U.S. Army. He liked fishing, boating and snowmobiling.
Surviving are his children, Mark (Catherine) Slezak of Commerce Township, Gloria McMullen of Westland and Leslie Dillon of Plymouth; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Craig) Johnson of Redford, Janice James of Plymouth, Mark Slezak Jr. of Commerce Township, Maureen Slezak of Commerce Township and Justin Dillon of Plymouth; and four great-grandchildren, Richard Adams, Karly James, Joseph James and Braidan Simmons. His cat, Tarzana, also survives.
Mr. Slezak was preceded in death by his wife, Louise.

Donna Cavender Mercer

Mrs. Mercer was born Sept. 14, 1953, in Detroit. and died Nov. 8, 2002, after a long battle with cancer. She was a 1971 graduate of John Glenn High School in Westland. She worked with her husband in their dental practices in Sault Ste. Marie and Drummond Island.
Surviving are her husband of 18 years, Dr. Craig Mercer; brothers, Ted (Jan) Cavender, David Cavender and Michael Cavender; sisters, Sherry (Tom) Kropp, Linda (Tom) Barker and Patty (Rob) Petersen; seven nephews and 13 nieces.
Mrs. Mercer was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Beryle Cavender of Westland.

Clifford Edward Jackson, Jr.
A memorial service for former Westland resident Clifford Jackson, Jr., 69, of Naples, Fla., was Nov. 9 in St. Peter's Catholic Church.
Mr. Jackson died Nov. 3, 2002, at his home in Naples, Fla. He was formerly of Westland and Port Huron, moving to Naples in 1988. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a life member of the VFW in Sierra Vista, Az.
He worked 30 years with Michigan Credit Unions, retiring in 1988. He also retired from driving a school bus for the Collier County Public Schools in 2001.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn; children, Cynthia (Eugene) Cold of Howell, Clifford (Katie) of Lakewood, Wash., Joseph Jackson of San Antonio, Texas, Cheryl (William) Miller of Fowlerville and William (Denise) of Naples, Fla.; mother, Marion Matthews; brothers, Delford (Ruby) of Wilmington, Ohio and Raleigh of Port Richie, Fla.; sister, Caroline Burley of Port Huron; 19 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Sr., in 1988.

Elizabeth Quinn
A memorial Mass for Elizabeth "Ella" Quinn, 94, of Westland will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, in St. Theodore Catholic Church in Westland.
Mrs. Quinn was born June 28, 1908, in Canada, and died Oct. 29, 2002, at her home in Westland. She was a homemaker. She lived in this community 16 years and previously resided in Walled Lake.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking. She also loved quilting and made all her grandchildren a quilt. Mrs. Quinn was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church.
Surviving are her children, Barbara (Edward) Thomas, Vincent (Patricai) Quinn, Raymond (Beatrice) Quinn and Dale (Norma) Quinn; 34 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Quinn was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, and children, Loyola, John, Douglas and Thomas Quinn.

Helen Namy
A Celebration of Life service for Helen Namy, 93, of South Starksboro, Vt., will be Friday, Nov. 8, in Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Bristol, Vt. Burial will be at Grand Lawn Cemetery in Detroit.
Mrs. Namy was born Nov. 14, 1908, in Martin's Ferry, Ohio, and died Nov. 3, 2002, at her home in South Starksboro, Vt.. She lived in Pennsylvania and Illinois until the 1970s when she returned to Michigan, where she owned and operated Bashor's Boutique, a candy and gift store. In 1999, she moved to Vermont to be closer to some of her family.
Surviving are her brother, Charles Bashor; sister, Margaret Berg; granddaughters, Cherrie Namy and John Dickason, and Linda (Bill) Namy-Miller; many great-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren, Alaina and Leyla Namy Dickason, Graham Namy Broadbelt, Sarah Namy Lawton, Sam Namy Lawton, Jake, Ben, Kristin, Erin and Tim Miller. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, and her special friend, Sally. There are family members who reside in Livonia, Redford and Westland.
