Mr. Mitchell was born May 1, 1970, in Detroit, and died Jan. 4, 2003, in Wayne. He was a former resident of Belleville and Southfield. He was a systems engineer for the U.S. Government.
Surviving are his father, Thomas; siblings, Thomas (Faye), Barbara (Arnold) Hoskins, Angela (Reginald) Gay, Alita (Michael) Moore, Eric and Latonia; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.
Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his mother, Marion; brother, Demetrius; and sisters, Cheryl and Everlyn.
Gerald Vranesich
Services for Gerald Vranesich, 65, of Westland were Jan. 5 in John N. Santeiu & Son Funeral Home with burial at Grand Lawn Cemetery, Detroit. Officiating was Deacon Jim Hensel.
Mr. Vranesich was born May 4, 1937, in Copper Harbor, Mich., and died Jan. 2, 2003, in Westland. He worked in the scheduling department of General Motors.
Surviving are his daughters, Correne (Rodney) Lucas and Collene (Brian) Ostrowski; brothers, Robert Morcom and Joseph Vranesich Jr.; and grandchildren, Brandon Ostrowski, Johnathon Lucas and Brittney Ostrowski.
Garland L. Goyer
Services for former Garden City resident Garland Goyer, 88, of Westland were Jan. 6 in Vermeulen Funeral Home with burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Livonia. Officiating was the Rev. Rocky Barra.
Mr. Goyer was born April 3, 1914, in Bricknell, Ind., and died Jan. 1, 2003, in Westland. He was an electrician/pipefitter. He lived in Garden City 50 years. He was a lifetime member of Masonic Lodge in Garden City and a 50-year member of Community Baptist Church, also in Garden City, where he was very active and involved in building the Sunday School and church buildings.
Mr. Goyer loved to garden and was very industrious. He built his family home in Garden City.
Surviving are his daughters, Carol Draper of Westland and Garlene Delekta of Sterling Heights; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Gladys Christine Robinson
Services for Gladys Robinson, 83, of Canton were Jan. 5 in Vermeulen Funeral Home, Westland. Officiating was the Rev. Neil D. Cowling.
Mrs. Robinson was born Sept. 26, 1919, in LaFollette, Tenn., and died Jan. 3, 2003, in Wayne. She worked in retail sales. She was a member of Kirk Of Our Savior Church.
Surviving are her son, Billie Lee (Pam) Robinson of Westland; brother, Bill Cawood; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial Mass for Nancy Henry, 48, of Westland will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, in St. Raphael Catholic Church, 5775 Merriman Road, between Ford and Warren Road, Garden City.
Mrs. Henry was born Nov. 7, 1954, in Cadillac, and died Jan. 7, 2003, at her home in Westland. She worked in sales for a retail store.
Surviving are her husband, David; daughter, Emily Lynn; parents, Richard and Beverly Volgstadt; and brothers, Rick and James (Margie).

Robert H. Palmer

Mr. Palmer was born March 28, 1919, in Ann Arbor and died Jan. 6, 2003, in Tawas City. He was a member of the Sand Lake Road Patrol. He was an active member of the Detroit Teamsters over 30 years. Mr. Palmer was an avid hunter, outdoorsman and dog enthusiast.
Surviving are his wife, Alice; children, Judy (Richard) Audritsh of Greenbush, Grover (the late Kathleen) of Gaylord, Susan (the late David) Wynne of Palo Pinto, Texas and Sally (Duane) Henry of Westland; sister-in-law, Evelyn; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and niece, Beatrice.

Anthony Dominic DeLisi

Phyllis A. Mitchell
Services for Phyllis Mitchell, 74, of Plymouth, were held Jan. 23 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church with the Rev. John Sullivan officiating. Burial was at Riverside Cemetery in Plymouth.
Mrs. Mitchell was born July 16, 1928 in Highland Park and died Jan. 20 in Pittsfield Township. She was a retired school teacher from Fiegel Elementary School in the Plymouth/Canton school system. She came to the Plymouth community in 1942 from Detroit. She was originally from the Upper Penninsula.
She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, the Michigan Education Association and the National Education Association. She and Millard had been married for 63 years.
Survivors include husband, Millard L. Mitchell of Plymouth; children, Michele (Regan) LaMothe of Grass Lake and Annette (Rahn) Frederick of Plymouth; grandchildren, Kyle and Cody Frederick and Lindsay, Ryan, and Patrick LaMothe.

Florene Cash
Services for Florene Cash, 79, of Plymouth, were held Jan. 20 at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dean Klump officiating. Burial was at South Lyon Cemetery.
Mrs. Cash was born Aug. 31, 1923 in South Lyon and died Jan. 18. Mrs. Cash graduated from Cleary Business College and was a secretary at Michigan Seamless Tube from 1953-1977, and as secretary for the First United Methodist Church of Plymouth and for Cash Builders until 1991. She loved many church activities and lovingly gave of herself. She also loved to bake for others. She thought of others with letters and kept track of birthdays and special occasions.
Mrs. Cash was preceded in death by husband of 51 years, Charles Cash.
Survivors include sister, Lois (Robert) Reid of Rochester Hills; numerous nieces and nephews; and many close friends.
